can we get some rogues gallery reactions to their partner walking up behind them and wrapping their arms around them while they cook/wash dishes/fold clothes or whatever?
this might be brought to you by the thought of croc having a partner do this and me thinking it was a very funny image
"A brief cuddle" - Rogues Gallery x Reader
You can totally get some reactions. Short and sweet babes!
TW: None
Riddler
There's a slight bristle that dissolves into a relaxed putty when he recognizes the feel of you. It's strange how much you can dislike being touched but that certain person just... it's different for them. They make you feel safe and the touch doesn't feel awful like with everyone else- He's likely doing some light tinkering at his desk. His screwdriver drops on the wood surface and he asks just what you think you're up to. He's craning his neck to kiss you wherever he can.
Penguin
His stout figure is soft as your hands gently squeeze him in a hug. Depending on what he's doing, you'll hear Oswald make a very undignified squawk. You can't startle a man who could tear your throat out like that, love! It's like you want to be in his claws... A dark chuckle that vibrates in his throat. Come here, little fish, and let him take a taste-
Mad Hatter
A delighted cackling giggle- He's a wiggly one, for sure. Within moments, he's turned himself around and is wrapping his arms around YOU. There is a fair chance he may even lift you a few inches off the ground in excitement for a moment. Not for long- he's not the most physically gifted. Let him kiss you, he's missed you awfully! Even when you tell him it's only been ten minutes, he shrugs it off as the sentiment still stands.
Scarecrow
Freezes for just a second. It's not a full-on flinch but he's not expecting it. He's not the most physically affectionate to begin with, so your little touches are always a bit of a surprise. A hum, "What if I had been dealing with something dangerous?" You reply that baking cookies is not dangerous. He stirs, "I could have tainted this entire batch with fear toxin." With no mask or PPE? you reply. Jonathan merely stops what he's doing to wrap an arm over you and kiss your forehead. His clever, affectionate thing.
Music Meister
He jumps about a foot into the air because he was lost in his own little musical world. He was composing! Then he realizes it's your hands and just what you're doing. Oh, this man flushes like a ripe tomato, all the way up to the ears. Stammering before putting his hands over yours. Fingers lace and he takes a pause while sighing. If he could just stay in this moment forever, he'd be so happy.
Victor Zsasz
Heard you coming from a mile away. It's in his nature and the survival skills he's learned along the way in his "career." Still has a little laugh about it when he feels you wrap your arms tighter. Oh no, you caught him. Whatever will he do? He puts his hands up as if in surrender. If you get too cocky or smug about it, he won't hesitate to twist you around and pin you to the same counter he was just working on. If it was more of a loving gesture, he'll joke that your hands are now forfeit unless you can pay up in kisses.
Killer Croc
Waylon is a huge man. You trying to put your arms around him is actually a feat. He figured it out but honestly? It's cute seeing you want more of him and trying harder. You'll eventually hear him laugh asking, "Need some help?" He can't help he's got so much beef! Everyone is small next to him, it's not you. C'mon, let him finish cooking what's on the stove and he can show you a real bear hug. Warning: He will probably pick you up as well.
Harley Quinn
If she's really focused, she'll actually wince and even tense up out of old habits. It's not you- Defense mechanisms. But then she'll realize it's you and giggle, "Whatcha doin', lovebug?" before craning her neck to kiss you. If it's clothes, she's dropping them- If it's dishes, you're getting splashed with water. A mess can be cleaned but she never wants to miss a kiss with you!
Poison Ivy
As you reach towards her, the leaves growing from her scalp react to your presence before she does. They shift ever so slightly, as if reaching back. A pleasant little hum when your arms go over her waist. She doesn't stop what she's doing, but you can feel her perk up under your touch. A smile plays on her face as she waits for just what you'll do next.
Two-Face
Honestly? It depends on how the control center is doing i.e. Harvey and Harv's brain. If it's the two of them congruous, you'll hear a chuckle and they'll put their head to your shoulder to kiss your cheek. Harvey is the one who move to hold your hands and savor the moment. It lasts a touch too long, but he'll drop what he's doing for you. Harv, if they're in the middle of something, tells you outright to wait a minute. He'll sound irritated, but really it's just because he wants to give you his full attention.
Black Mask
Hand brushes the gun on his waist until he realizes it's you. What the fuck are you doing, huh? Ah. Sorry about that, he was focused. Say, you in a kind of mood? He's so quick to turn on the minimal amount of charm he really has to turn the situation. Let him show you how sweet he can be instead.
Mr. Freeze
You do actually have to be careful doing this because if his suit is at max levels, your hand could stick slightly due to the cold. Still freezing metal. If it's his inner suit, you could give him a jolt doing a full on hug and hold, if only because you're so warm. His coolant hisses and the glass of his helmet fogs up. "That was... worth it." He says softly.
Ra's al-Ghul
Doesn't react at first, as he was meditating. The man is so very still you can feel his breathing sync with yours. His heartbeat thrums under your fingers. It's relaxing, the spell unbroken until you lay a kiss on his temple. He then smiles, turning around to take your hands in his. Come, love, let us go for a walk and talk about the day.
Bane
Like Jonathan Crane, the first thing you feel is his body stiffen. Depending on frequency, he might even roughly grab your wrist. When you whimper or even cry out in surprise, he's already letting go and turning around. Apologizing. Kissing the same wrist he was grabbing. Poor thing. To think he could have harmed such a loving hand. Let him make it up to you (and later on have a conversation about surprise touch...).
Hello everyone. I've decided to do something a tad different for this years Halloween. We've done general hcs. We've done horror theme parks.
In both comics and movies tied to comics, we've seen some pretty wacky hijinks for the characters of Batman. This edition?
The rogues gallery has been transformed into creatures and monsters of the horror genre, both traditional and non-traditional. Just what will Batman see when the transformations are complete?
also everything's fine after this obviously batman figures it out and all transformations will be reversed in the end despite all logic :)
It's funny for Edward who has dabbled in instances of the supernatural to become embroiled in the mess himself. For him to be in the middle but not orchestrating it. There weren't physical changes as would come to others on this list. Rather, he found himself being able to will things to happen. Sort of "The Craft" without the coven. Instinctual things that he might even call magic calling to him to make things occur. He finds he excels in illusion magic in particular, painting those around him in a delightful fantasy as he plays about them.
Of course he immediately uses this to his advantage. It's not cheating, it's just... enhancing his riddles and grandiose stage plays. Yeah, that's it. He'll give them hints that they're trapped in a fake portrait, just to see if they can break the spell. If not... well. A pit of spikes can be made to look like a soft place to land.
Penguin
For many years in Oswald's life, he'd wish he could change his face. All growing up, just to look normal and fit in. Now, in the later part of his life, he's defensive of his looks. He'd never admit it's something he'd still want. Which made it odd when one day he found his skin was pliable and that if he just concentrated hard enough... he could become anyone. Just with a thought and putting some things in the right place.
The cons and heists he began to pull off were legendary. Pulling himself as an unknown and then the moment a security camera could see him, he was someone else. Also catfishing. He was majorly catfishing some dates if he's not dating someone. To anyone who might have cared about him romantically or even platonically, the whole thing would be incredibly sad and telling.
Mad Hatter
For Jervis, he wasn't quite sure if what he was having was an out-of-body experience from one of his concoctions or... he was quite literally staring through his now-transparent hands and body. After some walking around (or rather, walking through things), he determined he was, in fact, a ghost or spirit of some kind. Did he... die? There was no body. This would indicate, at least, that he was shifted rather than passed on. The rational thing to do would be to find a way to return to his original form.
Jervis was not rational, to the unfortunate circumstances of everyone around him. Once he figured out to limit his visibility to almost nothing... there was a sudden uptick in voyeur and stalking by ghost cases in Gotham. Ghostly whispers and touching to bind people to his will. Fingers brushing on skin where he'd never been previously allowed. Oh, what a wonderful time he's having.
Scarecrow
'Tis a strange thing, to wake up without a head. Moreso, the head to detach at the neck as one wakes up in the morning. Staring at your own body as it walks and fumbles under your command. At first he thinks of it as a nightmare that will end. Yet, as he continues the day, his body holding it's own head, Jonathan realizes the unfortunate fact that this is how it's to be. A moaning sound comes from his throat as he tries to speak.
A public stable is nearby. It's easier to slip into a role, especially when the world seems so new and different. Plus, to be fair, he knows how to ride a horse and what better way to instill the fear he so craves by becoming a local legend. If he happens to take a few heads as spares for his own well. He won't complain. His own sits comfortably in his arm, resembling more of a pumpkin with each passing day...
Music Meister
When the time for transformation comes, Clarence finds himself pulled to the waters of Gotham. Almost as in a trance, he sheds the remains of his humanity and begins to form scales along his legs. His shock of red hair floats about him on the surface as he finds breathing to be... easy now, under the water.
Rumors of a mysterious, hypnotic voice calling people to the docks and "falling in"... That's what Batman hears first. Eyes glowing in the inky darkness of the harbor, waiting. Singing the siren's song to lure in his next meal. He's oh, so hungry and the bodies that come to him are so beautiful with the marks of his teeth and kisses. He'll have such a collection of treasures, he just needs to sing for them.
Victor Zsasz
There's a hunger that cannot be sated by food. He does try to sate it, yet the food just tastes like ash. It's not until a splatter of blood from a target spills in his mouth that he realizes the sanguine liquid is giving him... a craving. No one is around. He finds himself biting, gnawing and lapping until the blood has run cold and begun to coagulate where it was left. His suit covered in blood.
He doesn't remember being bit. That's how that's supposed to go, right, to be a vampire? Yet as his already sharp canines seem to grow, he can't deny what he's become. He's so accustomed to the bloodshed already. Might as well take his pound of flesh and not be wasteful. His victims will look more like animal attacks in this period. Finally he feels the warmth he's been told his whole life he should have.
Killer Croc
He's pretty sure he's immune to all this transformation business. He's already a "monster", right? Yeah, there's no way that'll effect him. That is- Until the first patch of fur crops up between the scales on his neck. It's not hair, he thinks, it's too thick to be- it's fur. Soft, almost like a dogs... One day he goes deaf. The next he hears with too much clarity, ears atop his head. His mouth seems to grow longer, like a muzzle.
He'd heard of the rougarou as a child. A man with the head of a wolf that prowled the sugar fields or the swamps. A trickster. A thing that hunts and howls. His brain feels fuzzy. His own fears of becoming feral seem to be coming true. As he looks in that mirror and feels himself disappearing, a furred wolf face staring back at him, all he can hope is that someone, anyone will find a way to break this curse. Then he sniffs the air. He needs to run.
Harley Quinn
She'd heard about the transformations before hers occurred. Nothing was wrong. Except... Well. Her joints sort of ached. But it was the kind of ache that was typical when she'd worked herself too hard. And. She's sure she's imagining it but does the world seem a little... bigger than normal? or is she... Oh no. Before she knows it, she's below two feet tall and the joints that so ached had become ball-jointed.
Whelp. As garbage as this is, it's time to be a menace. What else do you do when you've turned into a living doll? Big Thoughts are a little complicated at the moment, anyways. Having fun makes way more sense! With a pitter-patter of lightning fast feet and reflexes, she's breaking in. Aw, an abandoned doll with bright blue eyes and blonde hair, isn't she just darling? Better be good and better be nice, because Harley's got those glass eyes on you-
Poison Ivy
Just as Clarence hears the waters of Gotham's harbor calling to him, Pamela hears the murky moans of the Slaughter Swamps just on the outskirts of town. It's been part of the state park system for some time now after events concerning Solomon Grundy; she finds her feet sinking into the muddy waters and seeping into her skin to become something Even More than she already Is. The creatures that slither and writhe there come to her just as the plants do. This is Her domain now.
Halloween tours of the place seem so often now, and, despite the guides insistence that everyone stay close, there's those that go off the trail and wind up a missing person. But not every person. It's odd. Batman ends up finding the connection between those that disrespect the land and it's flora and fauna that end up missing. They eventually get found... wrapped in vines marinating under the mud.
Two-Face
Between the pair of them, Harv is the one to notice something is wrong first. It's this itching under the skin that just won't go away. Like a suit that's on too tight. Harv begins to order his meat almost raw, barely a sear on each side. Harvey... oddly enough doesn't have a problem with it. He himself has been feeling some kind of way that's almost wild and untamed. He's not supposed to be the one with mood swings, that's more Harv.
When the moon is full and round in the sky, the real transformation begins. Harvey peels off their clothes as Harv is screaming inside their mind. He pushes himself to the front as their skin cracks open along the spine, tufts of fur covered in viscera erupting from the wounds. They go on a rampage, hunting and tearing others limb from limb, the only recognizing mark of themselves a burned half-face.
Black Mask
It begins with a furious pain across his face. Different than usual. Blood ebbing out from under the mask in an almost black ooze. The rational thing to do was go to the doctor. What wasn't rational was the explanation that his skin had begun to slough off in layers underneath- and it wasn't just his face. All over his skin began to... fall off. Yet he was alive. Vitals dropping to nothing and yet there he stood. He never bit anyone, nor did he have the compulsion to.
Yet there was a period in which he put himself in dangerous situations, just to see. Nothing can kill him now. But as his mask falls off... he needs a new one. He knew a couple guys that were good at sewing together skin. He just needed some flesh to work with. Lots of guys in Gotham need killing. Maybe they'd have something decent covering their sorry asses.
Mr. Freeze
One day he wakes up and he feels... great, actually. It's odd. He hasn't felt this well for some time. Not since Nora was still alive. It's so well that he actually takes off his suit and is fine. He can breath! Yet, it's not because he's acclimated to the environment. Rather, every step he takes, snow and frost forms about his feet. He touches the wall and snow begins to fall from the ceiling. Some experiments need to be done. The first thing he finds is that he no longer has a heartbeat.
It would appear, in his estimations, he's become some sort of snow spirit or undead. It does make certain processes surrounding Nora easier. Less energy expended upon machinery. Oh and there's the thing where he can attempt to cast all of Gotham in a forever winter, but that's another matter entirely.
Ra's al-Ghul
Ra's died. This was not uncommon, Ra's had "died" several times in many years. He would reemerge at some point. It's what always happened. The Lazarus Pit would call to him, call the people about him to place his body there and he would wake in the healing waters, youthful and free. This time wasn't different than any other except... when he awoke, his body was a withered husk. His seemed more appropriate for funerary rites than leadership.
As he sat amongst the treasures of his years, someone loosely remarked that he looked as a mummy. Ra's had that someone's tongue cut out, but took inspiration for how to cover his body when he would leave the hideout. Scarves and bandaging to disguise the paper-thin layer of skin that protected the bone-dry organs and fittings that was left of his walking-upright corpse. He would find the solution to this. It was time to call upon the Bat.
Bane
His voice is gone. Maybe it's the flu? It would also explain the pounding headache. And the compulsive desire to want to rip noisy party goers apart. But that's normal, who doesn't want to do all that. It's when his rage builds up in the pit of his stomach and his normal ration of who is friend or foe seems to wane... that the people around him know something is wrong. Yet there's little he can do as he pushes them away and isolates, his senses begging towards blind violence.
Don't mistake him for the slasher that goes after the lustful and a virginal final girl is the only one safe. He's more of an equal opportunity slasher. Silent, but anyone is fair game if they make stupid choices like going up the stairs instead of out the front door. Woe be the fool that disturbed his peace and set him on a path of the blood. It's a higher calling, one that only he can understand.
Sorry, I know it's late but better late then never, lads! We're going to do a series of asks based on the same prompt of going to a theme park that does horror mazes in halloween (see: HHN at Universal Studio, Knotts Scary Farm, Fright Fest at Six Flags, etc). LAST ONE. then back to normal asks I swear.
TW: Horror mazes, theme parks
Riddler
You didn't have to convince him much. The moment you said anything about animatronics and the level of theater involved, he was into it. Will get a disability pass for his knee (and other injuries he's gotten fighting batman over the years). Will play it up that he has a brace for his knee AND a cane, too. Why yes, the two of you shouldn't have to wait in the hour to hours-long-throng of people who might get too close and breathe on him.
Is he petty enough to look at the prices of things and hack into the park system so you get a massive discount? Pffft. Yes, yes he is. It's one of those things no one is going to see unless they're looking. And by the time they look, he'll be long gone out of the system without a trace. If they didn't want things like this to happen, they really should up their security. Needless to say, whatever you want sweetheart, it's on his tab.
He does jump when the scare actors get him and it's all in good fun. Will get his feathers ruffled if someone gets him good or in a way he considers a "Cheat." Won't cause a fuss, however, because this is your thing and shockingly he doesn't want to make any of this about himself. The ones he won't be as gracious to are guests of the park making fools of themselves or being obnoxious. At best, he'll trip them with his cane. At worst, he'll sneak photos of their faces for later Riddler trials.
Favorite themes are sci-fi which is such a shock no one could have ever guessed. If it has ARG, interactive or "secret" elements, he's going to be the one to find all of it. He found a button to press and has a child's sized bead bracelet now and he's very proud of it. If he sees larger animatronics or SFX, he will try to pause to get a look at the mechanics. Something fascinating for him to see the gears so to speak. Will even pay extra for an entire behind the scenes tour.
Penguin
You do have to convince him to go, but it's not a hard convince. Mostly, it's just not his fare. He's seen plenty of awful things in Gotham that border on real-life horror. Plus, there's a lot of disfigurement used as the "fear" element in these kinds of things that leaves a poor taste in his mouth. However, if you ask and make it clear you really want to do this with him, he will.
Does not look at prices. Whether it's the ticket or food or souvenirs... He's got the funds. If there's a possibility for VIP tickets with something like hotel or a spooky dinner included, you don't even have to ask, that's what he's getting. You deserve it. If there's food the place is known for that's good, he's getting it.
There's a fair chance some drunk at the park will make a comment on his stature or looks. It's dark, not everyone can tell who he is in these settings. It can almost be forgiven. Almost. At best, he'll pull them close by the collars and remind them just who he is and what he can do to them. At worst, he's going to remember their face for later, colder revenge. Head under the ice at the lounge, for example.
His favorite mazes would be ones with historical themes, gangsters, that kind of thing. It's familiar. Like looking at a twisted fun-house mirror of his own life and interests. Might even tip his metaphorical hat to a scare actor that banters with him in that kind of outfit.
Mad Hatter
You need to convince him. Several of his crimes border on horrific and genuine terror, but he doesn't seek out horror himself. If anything, he sees things of that nature and sort of... doesn't. He sees Wonderland instead. So going out of his way to be in a horror maze is a bit- you mention costuming and he perks up. Costuming?
Oh. The outfittings! The dedication to details in a scare actors look! He's quite fond of getting closer to the actors in a respectful manner and complimenting their aesthetics in hopes they'll pause and give him a better glance. If he has a sketch pad with him, he's already scribbling and drawing haphazardly. Not of the actors per say, but the ideas they give him. Inspirations... How he can twist it to his perfect world.
Low-key is asking you to take photos of souvenirs you like because he very well might be able to just... make it without it costing 50 dollars. He's absolutely anti-paying this kind of money. It's practically highway robbery! ...However he will pay a little extra for something sweet the two of you will share. Funnel cake, that kind of thing.
So much nervous laughter when he's in the mazes. Lots of "oh! hehehe yes you got me! AHAHAH oh very good!" This is so different then when Jonathan scares him! This is... Not nearly as fun. Still somewhat enjoyable just different. Good thing it's with you!
Scarecrow
He got his own post :)
Music Meister
The biggest wuss on this list. Phantom of the Opera and Frankenstein are about his levels of horror and even then, it's mostly the musical/stage-play versions. If you get him to go on the basis of set-building and the fact that each maze is like a contained live play, he'll find it much more interesting. That's the ONLY reason you convince him to go.
Listen. Clarence is a great guy. He would defend you and protect you through fire if need be. That said, in horror mazes, he does threaten to sprain your arm with the way he twists it close to him when an actor jumps. You aren't a body shield or anything, but you'll notice he shirks behind you on a particularly good scare.
Doesn't really plan on buying anything because the tickets were already kind of expensive (says the man who would pay insane prices for a theater seat)- But if there's something in particular that you like, he either buy it orrrrr do a quick song and dance routine for it at the cash register (it's fine). It's not dissimilar to what he'll do to a rude guest. Except the rude guests will be convinced to walk behind a roller coaster fence :)
If he can get over his fears long enough, you'll catch him ogling the props and set pieces. Standing in one spot a little too long to look at something. What does this contribute to the visual storytelling?
Victor Zsasz
If you mentioned it as something you like to do, he's already bought tickets for it. Maybe even earlier than someone should have been able to. You aren't really sure how he did that and maybe it's better you don't ask. He's just pleased that you're pleased. He's flirting with the monsters/slashers and/or asking which ones you'd let pin you and- quietly! Only to you.
He acts rather nonchalant about prices of things. Doesn't seem to pay much mind to them either way. And yet those dark eyes seem to linger on you as you look at things. If you express interest in something, he'll offer to get it for you. That's what boyfriends do, right? Whether it's a new shirt or some obscenely cute plush with fake blood.
If he could fuck you in the mazes without any consequences, he would. Seeing the fake blood and gore gets him going. The more the better! That's his favorite type of maze. This is all giving him some roleplay ideas... At one point he's definitely going to make out with you either just after a maze or sometime during the night when he can sneak you to a dark corner.
Rude guests? Who would be rude to a man physically covered in tally marks from head-to-toe? Maybe if they were stupid, sure. He'd give them a moment to apologize while staring. It's your night, so he'll try to behave. If they're rude to you, however... He leans in close to their ear, whispering. You can't make it all out but he's smiling in that way of his- The guest leaves in a rush. You're not sure if Victor will do whatever he just threatened... but considering it's you there's a fair chance that's a yes.
Killer Croc
He's uncomfortable with the idea, at first. What if someone confuses him for a scare actor because of how he looks? You find that it's something he's always been curious about but didn't go for that reason. It does happen, but not as often as he feared. Occasionally he does startle an actual scare actor and he feels bad.
Funny enough, he's probably not the one handling a rude guest in this scenario. Someone DOES start to harass him based on his looks (entitlement plus liquor) and he's doing his best not to bash on the guy. He doesn't want to fuck this up for you because of his temper- And then you see another guest jumping in. Are you harassing his man because of how he looks? Are you some ableist prick making fun of him because we're at a horror event? Oh it becomes a thing. What many people don't realize is what a draw these events can be for people who are differently abled whether it's physical or neurodivergency- Someone would be on the rude guest before either of you had to really step in.
He will be disappointed in 90% of the theme park food because he knows he could make this better. You both know this. He'd rather make food before or after and snack on things. Souvenirs? All they do is collect dust like an old ladies knick-knacks huh? He guesses if you want it- Holy shit how much do they want for it? Some of these people need to be in Arkham for these prices, he swears. But he'll get it for you if you don't get it yourself.
If there's a voodoo/hoodoo based maze, he's steering clear from it. He's heard enough offensive stereotypes about that sort of thing for a life time. It's just annoying at this point. He actually doesn't mind circus or freak show themes because of his moonlighting back in the day. Yeah, maybe they should kill all the gawkers, actually.
Harley Quinn
You don't have to convince her at all. You mention date night at a horror theme park and she jokes about if Crane is in charge of it. Apparently he did a haunted house last year that sent people running out. But she supposes a whole park dedicated to it would probably be okay ;P . Of course she wants to go, it's going to be fun and thrilling! And if the scaring doesn't get her heart going, she'll run to a roller coaster!
Lowkey loves being chased. She will instigate a scare actor by running and squealing if someone actually gets her. Is she truly scared? Fuck no. Then, Harley gets downright goofy if there's a clown maze or scare zone. Big "you see your cousins at the store" kind of energy. So much banter, especially since she's somewhat plainclothes and they might actually not recognize her.
Doesn't seem to pay much attention to pricing of food or merchandise unless it's particularly egregious. Then she's hands on hips "Whaddya mean you want that much? Highway robbery, that's what that is!" Do you want her to steal it? She can steal it and they probably wouldn't notice (they would).
She'll fight somebody if they're rude to you or employees. Tiny but mighty that's absolutely her. You wanna say somethin'? If you have any strength, there's a chance you can pick her up before she actually hurts someone. Because she WILL hurt them, especially if they physically harmed an actor.
Poison Ivy
This was the kind of thing she never got invited to do when she wasn't "pretty." Group night out or dates... and she never saw the point of going by herself. So it's on when you bring it up for a date night. When she goes she's in full spooky fashion. The woman could be doing a modeling session for insta if she wanted. She's giving beautiful decay and rot, babes.
In the spirit of behaving and not making a scene, any rude guests will find themselves trapped in place by plants as you and Pamela walk away at a moderate pace. A wave of her hand and suddenly they're tangled in the grass of all things. Wow. That sucks. Guess it's a good thing for them she can't feed them to her carnivore plants.
Will absolutely use her powers of charm and plant-based pheromones to get discounts on stuff in the park. Oh, was there some shirt you wanted or a stuffed animal and it's too expensive? She's got this. Either that or she pulls out one of those premium credit cards that she absolutely did not con off of someone.
For the most part she barely regards the scare actors with a glance unless they specifically target her. If a scare actor manages to surprise her particularly well, she'll give a few well-placed curses and plants around her grow in a spurt. She'll give a dry laugh and walk it off, mostly based on your reaction. She's a good sport about it. For themes- Literally any kind of theme set in nature or about nature taking over? That's her bag, no notes, everyone deserves it. Creepy crawlies count, too! Club settings with electronic noise and grinding machinery are less to her taste.
Two-Face
Both of them are very tentative to going. Harvey doesn't want to be confused for a scare actor... and Harv has a similar feeling but in the sense of not wanting to be gawked at. They'll go if you REALLY want, but it's completely for you. Might even try to be low-key and in disguise.
Harv complains about every single price. With what you paid for to get in here, the drinks should be free, at least. Harvey has no problem shelling out just because this whole thing is focused on you, anyways. Harv may eventually join in on the prospect of spoiling you considering that's his bag.
If someone was brave (read: stupid) enough to actually comment on Two-Face being there with their looks? "It'd be a damn shame for me to take out your eyes-" and a lisping growl from Harv as they get far too close to whoever said it. If it's you, they're lifting the person off their feet and there's a need to get them to cool off.
HATES asylum bits. Especially if there's poorly done plot-lines with DID in them. "Been there!" Harv exclaims. "Done that-" Harvey finishes. It's just tasteless and insulting at this point, especially given the large amount of press given to the rotating door residents of Arkham. Similarly to Penguin, he'll like historical themes, especially mobsters and the like.
Black Mask
Honestly? You convince him and I'm not sure it would go well. The park doesn't want to let him in due to the "mask" on his face and he's threatening staff members. You have to remember his medical documentation or else NEITHER of you will be getting into the park. Then someone asks if he wants a disability pass and he's throwing another fit. The semi-ableist toxicity is real if it's towards himself. To be clear, if you needed accommodations he'd fight bare-knuckled for you. The next realistic thing that I could see happening? Someone jumps at you and Roman, on instinct, knocks their lights out and you get kicked from the park.
We'll pretend that didn't happen though. He's cocky and refuses to be scared by anything. Someone jumps at him, he just glares at them in some strange macho way of trying to intimidate them. This results in some fun interactions where there's just. a stand-off. The scare actors might even know who he is and they know he can't do shit about it here. He's forced to play into it until you pull him away. It goes about the same for rude guests, although he might actually have those guys killed off screen later.
He will not comment on prices of anything because he's better than that. Also, I mean, it's one banana, Michael. What could it cost? 10 dollars? He does have that... rich people blindness to what something should cost vs. mark up. So yeah you'll be leaving with plenty of things you absolutely did not need but it caught your eye and he wants you happy.
He's dead-set on none of it scares him when you ask him what he liked. Not the question you were asking but O-K. In truth, he doesn't like incredibly low-light mazes because he doesn't like being unable to see what's in front of him- nor does he like grasping his way around with his hands. He doesn't mind body horror, especially face action. Makes him think of his start...
Mr. Freeze
You have to convince him to go and you pretty much have to promise to be at his side the entire time. It isn't because he's cowardly or anxious, he just doesn't like jump scares. If it's at you or at minimum both of you, that takes some of the edge of it off. It's an activity for the two of you, not... random people trying to scare a man in a full breathing apparatus.
The funny thing about this is that scare actors typically will not go for him. He's tall, broad, and he's recognizable as THE Mr. Freeze from a distance. Some people might even think he's a scare actor until they're right up on him. This does work to his advantage to rude guests, though. He just sort of... looks at them. Doesn't need to do much and they back off.
He doesn't really eat. Not... in public anyways. He has his nutritional lines that pumps directly into his system allowing a perfect ratio of needed calories for the night. He also doesn't see the joy or interest in merchandising. He won't object to you partaking, however.
His feelings on scare actors does transfer to the whole of mazes. It's just... not really his thing. He will like themes related to the arctic or freezing, predictably enough. Sort of a happy place. It's what his perfect world would look like, except for you in protective gear yourself. Perhaps more theming related to science fiction? He did always like those comics as a young boy...
Ra's al-Ghul
Why would you pay to get scared? That's the first thing he asks. Then when you try to explain it, he goes off into a ramble about the state of the world. People used to have problems- things they were really frightened of! Yes, ghost and horror stories always existed but this is taking it to an entirely new level- He's going to sound like such an old man about this. Yes, you have to convince him.
When people jump at him, he just rather... blinks. Unlike Black Mask who is trying to keep an image, Ra's is truly unphased. He will compliment a scare actors makeup and is pleasantly surprised when they pose mid-snarl for him to get a better look. Ah. It's theatrics. The people who do this are proud of the artistry. Interactive play... Hm. It puts it in a different, more enjoyable light for him.
Will not be purchasing any expensive merchandising. The whole thing is gauche and reeks of capitalism. Outside of the people actually working the event, he feels surrounded by entitlement and rude behaviors. He is one drunk guest bumping into him and saying something before he contemplates Actual Crimes. He'll opt to glare into their soul instead but they don't know how close he was.
Gravely insulted by any kind of theming about indigenous cultures (not done correctly/thrashed) or "ancient spooky religions oooo." He feels a deep hostility that turns him into a bit of a Karen, I'm ngl to you. However, will appreciate a well-decorated set that fits a theme. It has to make sense.
Bane
No. Very politely, just no. It's not about how you ask him or how you convince him, this is a hard no for him. He does not like people jumping at him, he does not like the tight spaces. Nothing about scare actors or mazes appeals to him. Plus, he knows his instinct in fight, flight or freeze is to fight. He knows he would lash out at someone on instinct and that would be irresponsible of him to go to an event like this.
Take him trick or treating. Hell, take him trunk-or-treating. He'd love to go to a pumpkin patch with you! He'll gladly try to go to a theme park with you outside of a horror event. He might have a hard time fitting in on rides but... He'll go! Just, please, mi amor, don't ask him to do this one thing.
He would absolutely support you going. Pick you up and drop you off, even just so you're not driving late or having to pay for a hotel. If you need extra money for a ticket or for merchandise to go with your friends, he's more than happy to help out. There's nothing in him that wants to ruin something you genuinely enjoy.
You can tell him all about it once you're home with him. Fun stories or your favorite mazes and why- Let him share this with you in a different way.
It's that time of year. I didn't do anything last year but I wanted to get it done this time- at least before New Years. Hope all of you are warm, safe and healthy this year. Personally, I'm hoping for a much happier year with good health all around.
And as a baseline, all the rogues would respect your beliefs and celebrations and partake in them with you.

The Riddler
For some reason people assume Jonathan is going to be the scrooge given how much he loves Halloween- no it's Edward. Edward is the biggest Christmas holiday hater. Thanksgiving ends and he's ready to plan some heists because the idea of Christmas cheer is far from sacred! Will he still wear a Santa suit for a Christmas Crime? Yes, because it's thematic and he's still a sucker for a theme.
Much of this comes from his childhood of systematic abuse by his father. As soon as his mother left, the holidays became a distant memory and his father wasted no time in telling the small child that Santa wasn't real and that all of it was a corporate sham. Edward has already had an idea even at such a young age due to how bright he already was- Yet it still stung. What stung more was being surrounded by other children whose families celebrated, further isolating him from his peers.
If he celebrates anything winter-holiday now, it's most likely at the behest of his friends or for the sake of a partner. He'll be grumpy, still, to an extent. Yet he wouldn't deny his loved one if that was something they really enjoyed. He'd make his own gift, a technological marvel suited to their personal interests that he made with his own two hands. Whatever they give him he'll hold at high sentimental value. It means a lot.
Side Note: Show him "A Muppets Christmas Carol" and he WILL get misty at the end.
Penguin
So many memories of holidays where he was isolated away from others due to his appearance. His mother had a soft spot for him, it was true, but even she wouldn't stand up to the expectations held for the Cobblepot name. So alone he would sit in a locked bedroom, eavesdropping onto the grand party being held on the floor below him. Fantasizing about the fun times he would have if only he could be down there.
Nowadays it's one big celebration, all leading up to the culminating New Years Eve bash. Loud music, lots of drinks and a line of suckers he can milk all their money in illicit activities. Girls, gambling and a touch of blackmail never hurt anyone. And he's the star of the show. The ringmaster guiding the events, so to speak! If anyone has anything to say about him being so front and center, he'll shoot them in the goddamn eyes so they don't have to see!
And if there if someone in his life, they are right next to him getting spoiled. They are getting everything on their wish list and more. He'll insist he doesn't need anything but their presence, and still... if they get him a gift, he'll be grateful. Hopefully they like the spotlight he's in! It could easily get overwhelming, however and there's no shame in needing to step out of it for your own sake.
Mad Hatter
Loves this time of year. There's a genuine whimsy and wonder surrounding the holidays. Stories of warmth and love and belonging- Oh he eats that up. As a child, he was never outright abused, but he was very much ignored and neglected emotionally. Christmas would come and he would get a book or a science kit while his parents worked. Instead of it making him bitter, however, he seeks out that kind of warmth of found family.
On that note, if he happens to be in Arkham without his usual companions this time of year, he gets... a little more morose and deeper into his delusions than usual. It's a defense mechanism to try and protect himself from severe depression feeling alone and trapped.
There is a caution to be placed on an s/o for the holidays. Jervis can be a lot in a relationship generally due to his issues. This on top of it, the pressure of him making it perfect and warm and like you're a happy family unit (you are but are you happy ENOUGH)... He can malfunction a bit and go overboard. Anxiety city for the two of you. At least he's not hypnotizing a fake family for the holidays (again), right? Just reassure him. He's going to give you a gift he made himself, hours of work all for you.
Scarecrow
This time of year was one of the few that granny would be warm and almost... almost kind. She was still religious and certainly strict. Yet, she took some of the lessons of Christ being born, of the gifts of the three wise men and giving shelter to those who needed it, to heart. Did it mean more services? Yes. Did it mean the woman was just a fraction more forgiving and pleasant to be around? Jonathan would take it.
Nowadays, while religion is something Jonathan has a complicated relationship with, he does celebrate. The way he celebrates is by cooking and baking until his home is bursting with flavorful scents. Everyone is getting something in the form of food that he absolutely did not lace with fear toxin. The fear toxin laced goodies are for the Mayor. Just don't expect him to put an inflatable Santa anywhere near his property.
He has a huge dislike of what he considers overly bright and gaudy decorations. If his s/o brings anything like that in, you'll see him blink at it for a few moments before going "...what is that?" Otherwise, he'll welcome a bit of "cheer" into his home, and even a bit into his work. As long as they don't mind him trapping them underneath a mistletoe every once in a while.
Music Meister
Clarence has a schedule lined up for several theatrical winter productions. The Nutcracker, a Christmas carol, and there's someone even doing a production of It's a Wonderful Life! This is the perfect thing to do when it gets cold in his opinion. Get into warm but elegant dress clothes, get the best seat in the house, and watch the magic unfold on stage. This was pretty much what he's being doing from the time he was a kid. In comparison to pretty much every other rogue on this list, he's got 0 christmas/winter holiday trauma.
Every once in a blue moon, he'll make sure he's actually in one of these productions as the star. He can play a delightful Scrooge if put on the spot. Of course it needs to be a musical version where there's singing- there's plenty of those about! Then he's giving all of his friends tickets so that they'll appear. And, if no one gave him the role, he'll set up a crime based upon the original stage play, choreographed by him :)
With a partner, he's the one who has a "one gift on christmas eve" rule (because of course he has several for them). That, and matching winter pajamas. Bonus if they're one pieces and incredibly cheesy! He'll have them all warmed up with hot chocolate he made himself to get ready for a movie marathon.
Victor Zsasz
Grew up in a vapid rich family where nothing was ever enough. Accomplishments, gifts, parties, they were all... empty. It wasn't particular to the holidays, really. That was just his life in general. It was what led him to gambling, to small time crookery, to eventually becoming the assassin and serial killer everyone knew and feared loved. Something about the holidays just tended to exacerbate that need, the capitalistic want and greed.
He tends to charge this need by taking a lot more jobs. For some STRANGE reason, the happy holiday cheer just doesn't extend to everyone, does it? Nah, some people are always unhappy, always asking for a hit or a maiming. He's just glad to fulfill these little wishes for everyone! Ho ho ho, call him Sandy Claws! And New Years there's always some party to crash and cause problems until he has a reason to start some violence.
He loves "Home Alone" and thinks he should be allowed to do that but with people who made him bored or upset. Really, it's just creative ways to torture people. He will tell his partner this as they watch it for the third time this season as well as the physical damage each of these stunts would actually cause in detail. Hope you like spooky shit for presents all year long because that's what he loves giving!
Killer Croc
Waylon is... getting back into it now. There was a long time where any of the winter holidays would pass by without phasing him. Just another fucking day of being him, either running from the law or struggling to make it looking the way he does. Yeah, his family celebrated, but he wasn't exactly welcome anywhere but his grandparents home. Then he left and there wasn't anyone he thought would want to celebrate with him.
It wasn't until later when he not only gained real friends among the rogues party but reconnected with his mother that the idea of the holidays started to appeal to him again. Colored string lights outside of a home. Putting up a tree or other decorations inside of a house. Making a family meal and making an event of it, maybe even a potluck with all his friends.
If he has a partner whose been doing the holidays their whole life, he's going to follow their lead. Support their idea of what they personally celebrate while also incorporating his own new traditions. Maybe at some point they can go back to his home for the holidays? Have something with his family that he didn't get to have when he was younger.
Harley Quinn
Harley grew up in a Jewish household with her well-meaning but overbearing and psychologically abusive parents. She celebrated every passing year, the whole thing treated as yet another event to rein in her personality and spirit that was so disapproved of. She was not to be part of the planning. Gifts were only practical and usually consisted of neutral tones. At some point she wasn't even allowed chocolate coins because they would make her fat (as so decreed by her mother).
There was a time period between meeting Joker and The Breakup where she tried to erase all of that. It was easier than processing the emotional turmoil while also dealing with the current abusive and toxic relationship at hand. After the breakup, she went back to her roots, trying to find the blend of herself and her background. So now she celebrates Hanukkah her way. She picks passages of the Torah she resonates with to read off her phone as she lights the menorah. She'll even try her hand at fried latkes- They may not be the best but... they still taste good!
With a partner in the mix, it's just one more person to celebrate with! She'll really enjoy finding a gift to blow their socks off to open that first night. If they don't know about Hanukkah, she'll guide them through all of it! If they celebrate something else, she'll do the work to combine the two. Whatever it takes, she's going to have a fun time making it a fun time.
Poison Ivy
Her holidays used to be filled with gifts of makeup, body wash and frilly feminine clothing when all she'd wanted was children's chemistry sets and botanical supplies. It was always her Aunt Gigi that would get her exactly what she wanted. It left a bittersweet impression of the season on Pamela, even before her transformation. Then Aunt Gigi came out (as herself), was kicked out, and yet took Pamela in when she was at her sickest, all in the cold season.
Now her seasons are mostly celebrated with Harleen, observing the nights of Hanukkah. For her, she'd never had a specific religious attachment to any of it, so she weaves through it all with attachment to the people rather than the event itself. She always makes sure to have dinner with her Aunt Gigi at least once during the holidays. She's the only family she considers as "hers" at this point.
In respect to a partner, she will be hyper-vigilant about getting them something they actually want for the holiday. It won't be something she mentions, but she distinctly remembers opening up gifts, feeling that excitement- for it to fall to the pit of your stomach. Not for her love. If nothing else, she'll get them something she knows they'll enjoy like a treat while cultivating a plant or flower for them.
Two-Face
For some reason, the holidays make Harv tense. Perhaps it's a psychological thing Harvey has had lying in wait inside his mind. Maybe it's something Harv came up with on his own. Whatever it is, it makes him snippy while Harvey just wants to get through the holidays without killing someone. There's a large cognitive dissonance that ruptures through not only them, but on their "workers" as well.
There are not decorations and if there are decorations, they better not have some jolly fat fuck saying "ho-ho-ho" at Two-Face or he's going to actually flip a goddamn table. The mirrored-symmetrical rule applies to anything. Or rather... There's a wreath on the door that's been cut in half. One side for cheer, the other for... Not. Apparently Harv had done it in a rage after a bad deal.
A person seeing them in the middle of that can disrupt the balance... With Harv begrudgingly celebrating if they really can't miss it. If not, sorry Harvey, just be glad no one is dying. They may be able to at least ease the rage behind it- Harv having the fractured memories of when Pops was still around. The anger around ruined events and having their mother tossed into the snow with a black eye. It's something if actually talked about, he might be able to move past it.
Black Mask
The holiday season for Roman was much like most of his interactions with family- Showy, expensive and hollow. More presents than he could count, almost all of them expendable and easily forgotten within ten minutes of playing with them. Gifts from "friends of the family" he'd never even met so they could try and curry favor with the Sionis empire. All of it feeding further into his role as the heir apparent. It never really struck him until the fall out of everything.
Now he typically celebrates with a cigar and a bourbon, staring out into the icy landscape of Gotham. No one seems to want to work this time of year and he can't help but utter a "bah, humbug" under his breath when people complain. If people don't want something from you, they want to be lazy. If anyone on this list needed a ghostly visit, it would probably be Roman if we're being honest. He's not expecting shit from anyone otherwise.
Things will vastly shift if he gets a partner that celebrates. He's not quite in the spirit of things as one may hope, but he'll at least put the effort in. If nothing else, he'll spoil the shit out of his s/o with a gift or two. Something very nice and probably useless. But fuck practical- it's a gift. Should be pretty, he says.
Mr. Freeze
His memories of his childhood at this time are rather... unremarkable. They were neither good nor bad. His family was loving, they gave him things he wanted along with siblings. Nothing in particular stands out. What he remembers was his first New Years Day with Nora, the heat barely working and the two of them huddled under a blanket with cups of coffee. Neither of them religious or seeing the need for a gift giving holiday when they were barely making it by. Yet they were still some of his best memories.
This time of year is spent depending upon if Nora is still in cryo-stasis. If she is, he's working. Constantly working- Maybe this year he'll get it all done before things heat up outside and there's more stress on her already fragile casing. He doesn't recognize holidays or even dates anymore. If Nora has passed, he will either be alone in a dark room still not paying attention to dates or sitting at a party he's been invited to, cup in hand staring into the distance. Hopefully there is a companion animal here.
If another person is in the mix he's going to be SO awkward about it. Do they... do things for this? Are they like him about it? He will partake in whatever they wish for him to do. Just don't expect him to do it well.
Ra's Al Ghul
Doesn't celebrate anything specific lol. He's been around so long and in so many different places, he's been part of many types of rituals and events. Something about the cold when everything has died for the season makes people want to come together. Many cultures and religions have a variation of a winter solstice celebration which then extends to a new calendar year celebration. He's seen it all before. Nothing is particularly inventive at this point.
He'll spend this time as he would any other day. Nothing special about it.
If he had a partner that celebrated a holiday in this time, he would ultimately respect them. He would allow them the space to decorate and do what they liked, but he wouldn't add to much of it himself. If he gets a gift, he will reciprocate. Yet, it doesn't seem to be as big of a deal for him. As if it's all just passing by his eyes.
Bane
Christmas and other holidays were a mere concept to Bane. He would see other prisoners trying to celebrate in their cells. Watch it get torn down by guards or other inmates out of rage and anger. Sometimes he would hear stories, likely twisted versions of parables long since told at times such at this. He never received a present or much of a kind word in this time over any other time. One time someone even told him about snow, although as a child he didn't believe it until he learned the scientific processes behind it.
In truth as an adult, he was curious about being part of events like this. He'd first experienced snow in Gotham, a snowflake falling on his open hand- and he understood a want to celebrate it. The... feeling it gave him. He doesn't know the first thing about it. Yes, he does the research so logically he's aware. That's different from a feeling of knowing it naturally, to him.
No matter how his s/o may partake, he wants to be part of that. It's likely already more than he's done in most of his years of living. Is it truly a joyous time for them? Do they exchange gifts? Do they fast- he will fast with them! There's something about that sharing and blending of cultures that makes him feel... welcome in your life.
Which of the Gotham rogues do you think would be into marking their partner? Which ones do you think are more into PDA and showing off their partner, and which ones are more private?
Would love to hear your HCs for all of them ❤️.
"Showing off" Rogues Party
OH HELLO? MARKING AND PDA HM? Sorry this took so long, but better late than never!
Somewhere mid- on the scale of marking. He enjoys it, but it's not a necessary kink for him. In the case of his partner being into marking and encouraging him, he would get into a lot of theatrics for it. Talking sweet and dirty to you as he leaves an imprint of his teeth. Taking a green sharpie and writing a question mark on your hip because he thinks he's cute.
One thing that would get him going is seeing the imprint of ropes or ties on you. Nothing that cuts into you deeply, but seeing those marks after a session of tying you up... the intricacies of patterns pressed into your skin, even if it's brief. He wants to drag his lips across it.
He's obnoxiously into PDA. Despite the fact that he doesn't like touching by anyone else, he's terrible about it when it comes to you- Unless you ask otherwise. Taking a moment just to kiss you, not caring who sees. Hanging off of you when you're talking to someone else. See, everyone who thought he was too annoying and made up his partner, here they are! In the flesh! He's making sure everyone knows you're dating. And that anyone who tries to get at him through you will encounter a fate worse than death :)
Penguin
Oswald likes biting- HOWEVER, it's a ton of light grazing because his teeth are actually sharp and he doesn't want to hurt you. Plus, he likes your skin as it is. Light scars but nothing that will stay longer than a couple weeks. He will dirty talk it up though in the heat of the moment.
He'll pick out your outfits and things that have an obvious insignia or "Cobblepot colors" of white, black and purple. Garter stockings/thigh harness with jewelry he bought you that people can only see when you flash your leg a certain way. If nothing else, he'd ice you out with a choker if that's more your thing. He would also pay for a tattoo- nothing crazy, but a symbol on your thigh or hip that's meant to represent him.
Showing off his partner is part of the deal. He's an incredibly public figure and he doesn't intend on hiding the fact that someone really cares about him. That and the fact that you fuck. His hands linger over your ass or thighs in a way that tells everyone else you're taken, which is a form of marking on it's own. He also likes public sex or at minimum public messing around, even if he would make sure to cover you up if you were ever caught.
Mad Hatter
IRONICALLY, for him being as kinky as he is, he wouldn't like marking with his teeth or hands. Into marking in the sense of clothing. Matching decor- themes. You two walk into a room and it's obvious you are Together. If he ever did mark your skin in a lasting way, he'd be the first one to kiss it. Terribly sorry, dear, he couldn't help it. You're far too lovely for him to resist. It would turn into a praise session for how beautiful you are.
The ONLY exception to not liking to leave marks is with somnophilia and even then, he'd ask you first if it was okay/part of the play for you. Him being so cautious to not even wake you up, using your body to his whims and the only sign when you wake up is a pleasant soreness and little marks on your hips or thighs.
Yes and no. He wants people to know the two of you are together but he does have a sense of being chaste in public. If you initiate, he'll gladly reciprocate the affection you give him. The clothing mentioned would likely be enough to clue people in, anyways. If someone made him jealous or got too close to you, however, he'd suddenly get a lot touchier and in your space. He likes the idea or perception of him being a gentleman despite his dabbling in psychedelics and mind control.
Scarecrow
The psychological effects of marking alone makes it a fascinating thing for Jonathan. I've mentioned it before, but sex to him is yet another avenue to analyze you and your mind through behavior. What satisfaction does it give you to be "owned" by him? To have other people see that you're "his" by the marks he leaves upon your skin? It's a very fun thing for him to sink his teeth into, metaphorically and literally.
Usually his idea of marking is using his nails on your skin, leaving scratches that bloom in light inflammation after the moment is gone. Lines he can run his fingers over in the following days. It doesn't show to anyone besides him really, but he's also fond of spanking. Leaving little marks by his hands or a tool that you'd have to wiggle in front of a mirror or get a photo of to see.
Not big on PDA. This is a man who grew up having to hide a lot of facets about himself so he wouldn't be a target to bad things. Then it was the second persona of the Scarecrow. He's very private in the day to day outside of certain people. You'd find he's much more likely to kiss you in front of fellow rogues, for example. He would get you something small as a gesture to show off your "engagement" i.e. relationship to him, however, a small ring, necklace or a bracelet sort of thing.
Music Meister
He would feel bad. He sees that he gave you a bruise on your thigh when he grabbed you in bed and he's apologizing when he sees it. He has an incredibly soft and romanticized idea of sex so he doesn't try to get rough in the first place. You'd have to ease him into it and make it a sort of scenario. He'd be careful still, but you might get something out of it. Reassure him it's alright and that you like it.
A type of marking he would do, though, without much prompting, is physical marker writing. Ticking off the amount of times he's made you moan on your thighs. A little note here or there for you to find later. A song lyric because he has ADHD and got distracted- well. You shouldn't be shocked.
PDA and showing off, though? He's making an entire musical number to announce your arrival. Clarence is having you in dance routines for his heists. Everyone is going to know that you are together. If you were looking for privacy, you should not have gone for the theater kid. Lots of public kissing, hand holding and his arm around your body.
Victor Zsasz
ooooooo fucking boy.
#1 the guy you would look at for marking. If you can handle the fact that he's a freak and not really a nice guy, he'll mark you every which way you can imagine. Literal markers, his hands, his nails, his teeth, needles, knives, actually carving his initials into you- If you're game, he'll do it. Make you bleed while making sure you're not passing out on him or getting too injured. He'd "mark" his gun or knife handle by fucking you with it so he's always got "you" around when he's working.
Would write "cum dump" on your abdomen with drawn hearts if you're into that. He'll even take pictures of you like that, bound and gagged and stuffed with his cum for a spank bank later. If you've ever seen the intricate "needle art" some people will do (with sterile equipment), he would. If you don't at least have a couple bruises after going with him, he doesn't think he's properly fucked you.
He's... disgusting, really. He'll spit in your mouth in public to show off how good you are for him if you'd allow it. Collar and a leash, make you pant on his leg and beg for it. In more refined, appropriate settings, he would push it by huffing about wanting a kiss. In certain crowds he'd be more private for your protection. Because in his own twisted little way, he does care.
Killer Croc
Marking is something he got into over the years because it's very difficult for him not to mark up a partner by accident. It took a while to get there emotionally/psychologically since it definitely fed into this fear of him being a monster that only hurts people. Then as the condition got worse, people generally lost interest unless they had a fetish which just... no. As he came to acceptance with his entire thing, the marking kink sort of fell into place.
Yet, he's still careful as he drags his claws up the plush of your thighs, holding you close to kiss him. It's not terribly hard for him to make someone bleed, after all. Where it might be more difficult to restrain himself funny enough, is if his partner is holding all the control and he gets REALLY in the moment. You could be ordering him around, he's with it, and he's also biting your shoulder hard enough to leave a blemish.
He doesn't dislike PDA, but he won't really initiate. There isn't a particular reason for it. It's just not really his style. He thinks it's really cute if you want to hang off his arm or kiss him around other people, though. It's very validating for him. One way or another, people are going to know the two of you are together if it's by conversation or him playfully hoisting you on his shoulder as you head home.
Harley Quinn
It's actually not a kink of hers, it's rather something that just kind of happens because she gets really enthusiastic. If anything, she winces if she sees too many bruises on you, kissing softly as a way of showing her apologies. There was a time she loved seeing those on her own body because of what they meant- Now it's a grim reminder. Side note: if you guys play spar it's a slight exception, this is related specifically to sex/romantic relationship things.
That all being said, she adores being with you and pretty much all displays of affection being with you. It's not shocking to literally anyone who ever saw her when she was with the Joker. She has a penchant for pet names and grandiose gestures of her affection. She's the one who walks up to a carnival game and the guy working there thinks they'll take her money- and she walks away with the biggest stuffed animal for you.
Sometimes you'll look over at her when you're out together and you'll notice she's just looking at you with hearts in her eyes. Holding you and being held by you in those movie theaters where you can push up the arm rests. Sharing a drink and food. Everyone in Gotham knows.
Poison Ivy
Only likes it in the sense of rough play. Similar to Harley, doesn't aim for it. Just happens. Bruises from being bound. Scratches from messing about around her plants or her perfect nails. Doesn't really use her teeth for much, however. Given how her saliva can have an effect on people even when she doesn't mean to via an oral route, she would not want to risk it getting into your bloodstream. It's a "just in case" safety precaution.
The exception to intentional marking is if it's part of dominating play and it's something her partner is seeking out. Even then, it's more about clothing to put you in a position of "hers". For example, collars, clothing with tight straps, etc etc. You want people to know you're hers, baby? Why don't you tell them yourself?
Yes and no on PDA. When someone is under her thrall, she loves big displays because it shows the power she has over them. With you, her partner, she's actually more demure. A small kiss on the cheek or the lips, pulling you close and holding your hand as you walk in the park. She has a thing for sex outside or at least in nature, but she tends to pick areas that are more secluded to prevent people from peeking in. If anyone asks, however, she'll never deny you're her person. Let there be no doubt about that.
Two-Face
Complicated. Harvey still struggles with it because in his mind, that's something horny teenagers or early 20-somethings do. It's not professional, it's could be potentially embarrassing for your partner. Sure, it's fun in the moment but- Harv is already telling him to shut up, it's hot. It's a sign of passion, of wanting someone so bad your teeth mark them because you could devour them whole! Who wouldn't be into that?!
If Harvey got into it, it would be things you can easily hide under your clothing. Hickeys and little bruises where his hands held tightly. He feels... kind of naughty doing it? It's fun, though! Harv dives full-force into it, intentionally leaving little marks where he knows it'll drive Harvey's boy scout routine crazy. They both like seeing it on your body, there's just a disagreement on admitting it.
Something they can both agree on 100%, however, is showing you off as their partner. Clothing that has a "duality" theming to it so you match with them. A hand that depending on the current controller is high on your back or dancing low just above the curve of your ass, fingers resting in the hip dip. Sometimes they like to steal kisses when you least expect it, just so others can see your reaction go from surprise to a warm smile.
Black Mask
He'd make you show other people or, at minimum, tell you to wear things that would show off exactly where he marked you up. Teeth marks, hickeys, bruises, the occasional knife play- It gets him off to watch you pull up your shirt or skirt to show off something he's done to your body. Like it's a badge of honor to have Roman Sionis leave a reminder on you of your past transgressions.
Collars. He will get you a collar for every different occasion and outfit if you want. It doesn't have to strictly be a collar, either. Just something you wear that everyone sees as his "ownership" over you. If you guys have gotten to a serious note, he wouldn't mind matching tattoos, either. Something small and subtle on your hands or wrist. After all, you're together for the rest of your natural lives, right? It's not like it's that different from a wedding ring.
He would have sex in public or at least around other people if you were down, if that answers your question. He'll kiss you, grope you, pull you into his lap whenever it pleases him. It could be egregious enough that someone might be confused that you're just a toy for gratification vs something serious. He'd knock the teeth out of anyone who said that about you around him.
Mr. Freeze
Unintentional when he marks up his partner. Yet when he kisses for a lingering amount of time... there is a frost build up. It's certainly not permanent- it's like a powder of fresh snow was left on your shoulder. Even if he was into it, per say, he would worry about intentionally trying to mark a partner with his own body. Given his condition that could lead to skin or even muscle damage!
He's certainly more private, but he's not against PDA. A lot of how he shows affection is just subtle and not about physical touch. Ensuring you're bundled up while in his work space that inevitably gets frozen over. You're eating all your meals and when you're sick you can rest.
People are going to know you're with him without "showing off" simply because it's apparent that he cares for you. For one, he actually keeps you around. Two, if anything threatened to get between you, he'd be getting suddenly very hostile...
Ra's al-Ghul
Actively against PDA and showing you off. Getting handsy and kissing a lot in public makes you a target. It paints him as someone with a very visible weak point. Marking would be something private. Only you can see it, i.e. it's under the clothing. So writing, a stray scratch or bruise- Having very apparent signs that the two of you fuck or that you "belong" to him in a sense, however, is different.
For one thing, you are either in his quarters or directly next to him. If you ever go out without him, you have a trail of spies behind you for your protection. Some might say it's like living in a gilded bird cage. To others it's a significant show of respect and intimacy that the incredibly secretive Ra's al-Ghul wants you to know him inside and out.
You will wear clothing that is befitting to your status as his partner. Golden jewelry, either an arm band or something around the neck- green like his robes for any gemstones. He'll kiss the skin as he puts these pieces on you himself. Much of this isn't marking in the "traditional" sense, but people will surely know that you are his partner.
Bane
On the fence. On one end, he doesn't want to like it because he's not the brute that people want to think he is. His entire identity is not that of a violent criminal despite what the world has made him. And yet... there is something visually pleasing about seeing a sign of where he's been along your skin. It's not dissimilar to shows of strength with you. Little bruises where you asked him to go rougher, to grab you tighter. A slight indent of his teeth on your shoulder.
Other than that, he does not like the idea of hurting you. Anything where he's intentionally marking you up is off the table. He doesn't really go for fashion. He doesn't want to write on you (it feels strangely disrespectful to him). Asking him to cause you harm (even minor and in play) is an incredible turn-off.
He likes being affectionate in public, however, he is strict on when and where. He works with dangerous people. He has a mind for strategy- you could be another pawn piece for someone if the two of you are too affectionate in the wrong crowd. Amongst his true peers or, say, your family or friends? Completely different, he's kissing your neck to make you laugh and hugging you close.
Do you have hcs on which rogues would get tattoos + would like tattoos on a parnter?
"Tattoos" Rogue Party x Reader
We're gonna go short and sweet with this one! I'll go into detail where it's needed, etc etc.
important side note that everyone on the list would be respectful of tattoos that are tied to specific cultural practices such as Tāmoko- no matter what their feelings are about tats in general.
TW: None
Riddler
Wouldn't get a tattoo because A) he feels fairly neutral about body art and B) he'd be struck within intense indecision if he tried to get one.
Doesn't care either way about tattoos on a partner, really. The ones he would really marvel at would be geometric or bio-mechanical styles. And if you were to get a green question mark somewhere on your body, he certainly wouldn't complain...
Penguin
Wouldn't get a tattoo because it doesn't suit him, in his mind. If he had anything it would be from his juvvie days when he was more young and impulsive.
He'd vastly appreciate fine-line work or a particularly intricate design. Something else about you that's beautiful. Pulls you in and... he can lay a kiss on it.
Mad Hatter
No. Just. No.
He wouldn't dislike tattoos on a partner, but it's not his ideal. Considering there's a fair chance an s/o began as an Alice or general fantasy... well. No one's perfect, are they? If it was florals or an alice themed tattoo however... it could be a sign. Don't try making sense of his logic, you'll hurt your head.
Scarecrow
Got one when he was young. Stick and poke that the ink drained out of and now it's just a scar of crow wings on his left back shoulder. A buddy did it, Jonathan doesn't even remember the man's name.
He would really like the tattoo(s) in question if it was horror related or something to his interests. Tracing the design with his fingers during intimate moments.
Music Meister
In the nicest way someone can possibly say this, no, he's too much of a weenie. Plus, he thinks about the fact that if he ever performed a specific character on stage, he'd have to constantly cover it up and that annoys him.
Normally doesn't care a lot. If it's a theater or musical based tattoo like lyrics or elements from a poster- He'll be almost drooling over it.
Victor Zsasz
Would get tattoos. Has tattoos that he's marked over with cuts.
Would like tattoos on a partner.
Would get weird about it if you let him.
Killer Croc
Likes them, physically cannot have them. Tried once. Broke three needles before the tattooist gave up. Which... he really can't blame them on that one.
He thinks they're kind of sexy, actually. Bad-ass, you know? Especially if it's in a place that's known to be painful? Woo, sha, he knew you were tough for him.
Harley Quinn
Yes. I don't know if my Harley would have tattoos yet, but she'd be absolutely down for getting them. They'd definitely need to be color, though. She'd probably really like new school with the cute, exaggerated features.
Tell her all about them! Each one has a story, right? It's all fascinating and more she can learn about one of her favorite people.
Poison Ivy
Only if it was something "tasteful" in her mind. Elegant with perfect body placement. That's where she's at mentally. Physically... Her body will reject all ink if it's not strictly vegan and plant-based. Plus there's the fact that her skin has a green hue. It vastly limits her options and she might just give up on the idea.
If she saw a lace design or a realistic plant/flower on a partner... heart eyes, baby. She wouldn't admit to being impressed by it outright, but you'd know from the way her touch would linger there.
Two-Face
Harv would be down, Harvey would say no. He's not against tattoos themselves or anything, but he was incredibly straight-edge most of his life and that's an aspect from his past that remained. Unprofessional.
Thinks it's neat if his s/o has a tat that's either a blend of styles or deals specifically with the theme of duality. No one would ever have guessed that, I know. Otherwise, it's art on your body. Want Harv to put you in a frame for all to see? He smirks.
Black Mask
No, because of the expectations put upon him from a young age. CEO material. Can't have that. The incredible irony is in some way he still thinks of tattoos as something criminals and convicts have.
That doesn't apply to you, though, because you're his and that makes you special and different. He'd put some bank aside if you wanted another, even. Fancy appointment with the artist of your choice and everything.
Mr. Freeze
Deeply appreciative of tattoos given that his deceased wife, Nora, was an anthropologist who sometimes dabbled in the historical and cultural context of body modification and expression. He doesn't have any himself, however. However, he's read and re-read several of the textbooks she left behind on the subject. He can tell you all about it.
It might seem strange to a partner that he's sharing this interest via the lens of Nora. Understand that he loves you deeply and this is him sharing something Important to him with you. His love for Nora was so much. He insists you would have loved her, too.
Ra's al-Ghul
He does not have tattoos nor would he get them. He may have had real tribal tattoos long ago, but the strange effects of the Lazarus pit long wore them out of his skin.
Boring in that he tends to dislike non-traditional, non-cultural tattoos. Vibrant, pop in your face styles? No, thank you. He wouldn't say anything to a partner or even any particular person because that's rude. But you can tell by small side comments he'll make. The truth is, he would eventually get over himself if a partner had them. He loves you as a person, more than anything else.
Bane
Grew up in a prison, tattoos themselves are part of his culture. It was strange to him when he got out and realized there's a lot of people with no tattoos at all. Meanwhile, he had a full sleeve by the time he was 25. Debatable on the quality for some of it. Some of his older tats you can tell they were done in prison. Has some really gorgeous work on his back, though.
He would actually pay for an s/o to get a tattoo. If they wanted it! It's an art form that expresses a piece of themselves along their bodies. It's beautiful.
Which of the rogues are amenable to having kids and which ones aren't? For the ones who want or would be cool with kids, what kind of parents would they be?
Rogue Party Parenting
OKAY, SORRY, this is late. I got Busy again. Some of these are longer than others given the subject. Tried to give all of them a reaction to kids, though, given some people already have children that are a package deal. And life in Gotham is weird, sometimes.
Tw: Mentions of past child abuse, miscarriage, suggestive lines here and there
Riddler
Hahaha so much past trauma coming up. He tells himself children are far too much of a hassle, disgusting, pointless- For him to have a child, not only would it be after a lot of conversation, his partner would have to really want that, and he'd have to decide he's 100% committed to said partner. Otherwise, it's an automatic no.
In his mind, he doesn't like kids. He wouldn't ever be mean to one, certainly not. And he'd never treat them like his father did to him- Never. And- Well. Bath time is kind of nice once they're all warm and dry in the towel and he can kiss their forehead. He SUPPOSES the quizzical way they look at him and the world is endearing-
oh, dammit, maybe he does actually like kids. Or, at least, he doesn't dislike them the way he thinks he did. He sees that vulnerability children have and he can't feel anything negative towards them. There are some issues he has to work past such as noise (due to emotional childhood trauma), but he figures it out.
His children will be so crazy smart. It doesn't matter if they are biological or not, the level of reading comprehension they'll have just being around him is above average for their age. He tries his best to foster knowledge rather than being a condescending prick like he is to everyone else.
If they're even a little self-conscious, he's going to fight that. Pick them up. Teach them to have confidence and a little bit of swagger. You're the top, kid, don't let anyone tell you different.
When he's in his nice suit/clothes, he starts carrying around wet wipes so the kids can clean their hands before getting him dirty. His workshop clothes are fine, though. In fact, he'll encourage them to do projects and get dirty with him as long as it's not one of his death traps. He'll show them how to take apart and put together radios and the like.
When they hug him and tell him they love him, he has to hold in the emotional wave that comes over him.
Penguin
I did get an ask about pregnancy hcs for him here which answers that first question lol. If he got to have one, it would not be a stretch for him to be game for a little row of metaphorical ducklings, he REALLY loves being a dad. He gets weepy at any births of his kid(s).
The baby/toddler stage is probably his favorite because he loves hogging them. He's loves cuddling them. It's kind of ridiculous how much he loves it. A lot of it is because he himself didn't get a lot of that as a child so he unintentionally projects those feelings. It's ultimately fine, his kid(s) are going to feel loved.
Spoils them. Hopefully his partner is more even keeled or else they will be spoiled rotten. Toys, education, clothing, only the best for them. And Oswald has plenty of money in legitimate businesses he can sign off monetary deposits to his partner so they'll be safe in case of any... unplanned incarcerations.
He will try to have a healthy balance of not letting his kids too deep into his world- but as they get older, he'll try to include them more and more so one day, his empire can be inherited. Try to have them less on the criminal end, but know how to handle that side of things.
If any of his children look different and/or are neurodivergent, he's so protective. Don't get me wrong, he's protective of all his kids- But he will be making sure the bullying and harassment he went through as a child will NOT happen to his kids.
So many dumb family vacations. Those cheesy pictures they ask you if you want to take in the front of theme parks? Every time. He can afford it, and he knows them being young won't last forever. It'll take a lot to convince him to be in the photos at times but if one of them bats their eyelashes at him, he will fold like a sucker.
100% will pull his pants up and let the kids into bed whenever they have a nightmare. Come on, look, you guys can't just put them back to bed, what if they have another nightmare?
Mad Hatter
He'd love to have children with his partner! Should he have children? That's definitely a question that should be asked if for no other reason than he works with a lot of drugs and isn't always the most coherent. You see, my general Jervis Tetch works with mind control devices and psychedelics. He likes chasing that rabbit hole down, down, down-
What was he saying? Yes, he'd love a little dormouse to add to their tea party! There's a glint of a joke in his eyes, that hint of recognition that his partner would recognize that he's much more aware than he lets on. They'll figure out how to keep their child safe at every instance.
There's so much to do! He has to paint the nursery and start sewing baby clothing- Jervis will sew so many theatrical fancy little outfits for his kid the photos will be downright embarrassing for potential future partners.
Always wants to read them bedtime stories. While both Alice in Wonderland books are a staple, he likes reading them the classics as are appropriate for young ones. Treasure Island, the Secret Garden, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. If his partner adds it to the list, he'll read it to them at some point, so there's definitely potential for some more modern books in there.
Very affectionate! Insists on them holding his hand to cross the street even once they're past the age for that sort of thing. His hugs goodbye last a second too long because
There will come a time when his now teenager child thinks he's cringe and doesn't want to be associated with him- and it'll hurt. He'll recede into his criminal businesses for a little while being UNCOOL and UNLOVED as his partner reminds him they love him very much.
Overall, he's very attentive. He doesn't talk about why that is but his partner might have an idea if he's talked about his childhood.
Scarecrow
No. He will play around with the idea of having children and it might make for some sexy dirty talk but biological children are not for him. He's too damn old and frankly he has way too many issues to want a child. If his partner has children, he will have some mixed feelings about him being a potential guardian. Tainted, burned out gardens aren't made for growing things.
He has to stop himself getting snippy at times to the child. Tell them to stop messing about his funeral home. Part of it is him worrying they'll find out about his other persona or set something off. Another doesn't want them scaring off clients or stumbling into the fridge room where he keeps the bodies as they wait for preparations. Scoops them up by the collar or uses his cane to snag their shirt.
If they show any kind of interests in the business or his hyperfixation of fears/psychology, though, and he may just take them under his wing. Gives them textbooks to study and look over when his partner might not be able to watch them. Defines any terms they don't understand with a calm ease that doesn't make them feel any kind of way.
If he catches wind of someone bullying them, he's going to teach them a valuable and important lesson on finding out the fears of your enemies and taking advantage of them. If it's severe, he might step in as scarecrow and teach them the meaning of the word horror.
Lightly smacks the back of their head if they curse but any bruise on their body caused by anyone (especially an adult) will be met in kind.
Victor Zsasz
Please do not have kids with this man. He's way too neutral on having kids and he should not be responsible for the development of a child.
He does not care if his partner wants have kids either way. If his partner wants them, it does give him an excuse to get really kinky with it, though. Breeding kink and domination to the nth degree.
for his child's fifth birthday, he gifts them a knife. Shortly after, he starts showing them how to use it for carving... wood. Yeah. These techniques are for wood. And knife tricks. What do you mean you can't teach a kid knife tricks? If they get cut, it's just part of the learning experience.
They're going to know how to skin an animal and get it's bones at a a young age and they are going to be the creepy kid in the classroom. Maybe his partner likes that. Maybe all three of them were/are the creepy kid in school.
If anyone tried bugging his kid, he would act really chill and nonchalant about it- and that person would disappear. Victor would have a new tally mark. Maybe his kid could even cut it on him themselves... Parent-child bonding!
Speaking of bonding, shooting galleries are a good bonding activity. They'll be a pro in no time!
Killer Croc
I briefly talked about it before, but Waylon has some complicated feelings about biological children. He knows his condition is genetic and while it could skip a few generations, what if it doesn't and his child hates him for "doing" that to them? Plus, yes, he worked things out with his mother eventually, but his childhood was rough. He'd be on the fence. Perhaps with some growth and the right person, yes.
Similar to Bane, he's nervous at first with a baby because they're so tiny and he's so huge. Even if it was a toddler from a previous relationship situation, it's a constant thought in his head. This passes the first time they laugh and giggle at him picking them up. That's an addicting feeling for him.
I need you to picture his child needing a theater costume finished and he's up way past bedtime individually bedazzling an ugly as sin animal costume. Because damn it, they asked and he is going to do it. That's the dad he is.
There is something so healing for him having his child love him exactly the way he is and not be frightened of his appearance. Touching his face, not judging him, they look at him and that's "daddy." When he first has that epiphany, it's going to make him really emotional and they won't understand. He's so... happy.
If anyone hurts his kid, there will come a very uncomfortable precipice of him potentially going back down a dark road. There's still those scars of anger and rage across his heart that would make him do some awful terrible things if he thought it meant his child would be safe. All of this increases tenfold if his child does inherit his condition. Not to be romanticized, it's genuinely something that could be a concern.
That said, they are going to get rides on his shoulders forever and get to feel so tall.
Harley Quinn
She loooooooves babies. The way they smell, their soft skin, their giggles- She has this magic with little kids where they know they can trust her and let loose. In another reformed life, she'd be an excellent preschool or kindergarten aide.
That being said, she's okay if she doesn't have kids due to having a trauma related miscarriage. If her partner never wanted kids, she's happy being the kooky aunt who gets them hyped up on sugar and passes them back to their parents exhausted.
As a parent, Harley is so much fun. Vacations, arts and crafts, sports if that's your thing! She'll even get into the nerdier intellectual stuff if that's what you like. Harley is adaptable and she wants her kid to be happy.
Unfortunately, sometimes Harley is a little TOO fun. Not enough rigid rules which can put her kids at a weird schedule which can get frustrating in the long run. Plus... Harley kind of steals the show a lot of the time. If her child isn't as outgoing, she might unintentionally take attention away from them in social groups.
They will never doubt they are loved. She makes a promise to herself they will never fear her or feel like they're too much. She loves the little human being they are and will grow into. If they ever get into an abusive relationship, she's going to skip directly past trying to get her child to see reason, she's just going to knock said abusers teeth out.
If her child is neurodivergent and in need of medication, she is ON IT. The moment she sees any potential symptoms, she's getting it looked into. She's very aware of the statistics of neurodivergent adults who got missed as children and how it can effect them. Plus with her degree? She's very aware of how that medication works and can go toe-to-toe with doctors when needed.
Poison Ivy
I'll be real with you, 75/25 in favor of no kids. Pamela would rather adopt or be a pet mom.
Most of the reasons for her not wanting kids is directly related to the environmental impact of the growing overpopulation of humans. Another big one is she has 0 interest in being pregnant. She already has one parasite effectively living in her body, thank you.
If she became a guardian of a child through adoption or somesuch, though, she's actually pretty maternal. Shows them how to walk through nature without hurting it, how to use it for medicine.
When her child is upset, she'd lift them into her plants to a place hidden where it's just the two of them. Allow them to cry against her while she hums a song to them. One her own mother sang to her when she was a child.
And yet, she doesn't hold a lot of sympathy for scrapes and bumps and bruises. Pick yourself up and continue. You'll get hurt, it's part of life.
If her child is female identifying, she is wickedly defensive of anyone looking at her. Threatens to feed them to her plants if they seem too friendly. If her child is male identifying, she'll teach them to be the perfect gentleman. Still very protective, but he's going to respect others. Nonbinary/third gender it would depend on the kid themselves.
All would be a little too wise and knowing. Knows how to manipulate others through looks and honeyed words.
She attends any and all parent-teacher conferences and has a vendetta against Karen from the PTA. Everyone knows Pamela's granola bars that she makes herself are superior to any store-bought crap Karen tries to swill.
Two-Face
COMPLICATED. Harvey thinks it wouldn't be "right" to have a child given his... condition. It's too confusing, they have a history of an abusive father. What if Harv lost control of impulses and hurt them? What if their career put the child in danger? What if-
Harv... actually wouldn't mind. You might not think so, given the temper and other things he has going on. But he's so much passion and an excitement for what you can get out of life. Having a kid sounds like a helluva lot of fun and he knows they could do a good job.
so likely, its going to be a maybe unless you can ease Harvey's mind.
HOWEVER IF THEY DID HAVE A CHILD, Fiercely protective. There is a constant internal battle between sheltering their child from everything... and they need to know how to use a fucking gun.
Harv is the fun dad. If their kid asks for something ridiculous, Harv is fighting to get first word in so there can be no take backs. Fuck yeah, we'll skip school and go to that theme park today. Shut up, Harvey, it's fine- live a little. Will let them have a nip of a really gross bitter alcohol to encourage them not to drink kind of dad.
Harvey is the dad you go to for scraped knees and a listening ear. He'll kiss their boo-boos and ask if they want to turn on their favorite movie. Knowing whose child they are, it's probably legal or a mystery. If their kid also has "My Cousin Vinny" as a favorite, expect Two-Face's partner to suffer in a myriad of quotes at any time.
Their kid would be educated. While they kind of hope the kid goes to law, they'll be supportive whatever it is and they WILL pay for college or a technical school for it. They'll stay up half the night helping their kid study if needed.
Black Mask
He cannot have children due to the after effects of the fire and life saving surgeries after said fire. In some ways, he finds it a relief because his childhood was pretty shit and he thinks he would be the guy to continue the cycle of abuse.
He would consider adoption if his partner was dead set but likely would say no. He "ruins everything he touches." If his partner happened to already have a child, he would take them on in an "uncle" capacity. Hands off, don't want to fuck them up. Definitely spoiling the fuck out of them, though.
Definitely big on them staying out of the life and getting those goals. Supportive of them going to some kind of business. Will do his best to hold his tongue if something else, but likely makes the occasional comment while still passing over money.
If they get out of line and they're an adult, he makes it a thing to remind them he's fucking their mom/dad. Petty, petty shit.
Mr. Freeze
He's not even sure he can have children. He and Nora had been trying before... before she got sick. He's unsure where the problem might have been. Plus, with his suit and all that comes with it...
If you wanted to get into the clinical biology of it- in theory, his sperm should be intact because of freezing, however, you can't just take something that delicate from one environment to another instantly as it would be with "natural" sex. If you wanted biological children with him, it would likely end up with quite a bit of labwork and trying different things.
In truth, if he got to a point where he was willing to move on with another person, he'd most likely be willing to start a family with them. In a perfect world, he always wanted to have a "normal" life, life just got in the way.
As a dad he'd be very loving, if not a little quirky. Others on the outside perspective might view him as a little cold and distant, but he loves in his own way. Always making sure they're bundled up in the winter, that when he gives them kisses, they're already warm under the covers, and that they can't get into any of his more dangerous research.
Definitely a stickler for rules. They can't go into his lab without strict parental supervision, homework is to be done once they get home, etc. Part of it is because rigid structure always helped him growing up, so he tries to lay that down for them. If for some reason that didn't work for them, he would readjust accordingly to the best of his abilities.
honestly, if you left it up to him, he'd plan everything down to the minute, he could absolutely use someone reeling him in a tad. Or a lot.
Ra's al-Ghul
It goes without saying having a child is a gigantic commitment, but somehow Ra's makes it even more intense. So many ceremonies, it feels like it's never ending. He won't deny the process of having his child will be difficult. They lost Talia's mother and he has no intentions of that happening again.
Even if his partner doesn't at all care about inheritance of the proverbial kingdom and all that entails, he makes it very clear any children they have are third in line behind Talia and then Damien. Does it really matter since he doesn't seem to have any plans to let his leadership go at any point? no! But they still need to Know The Rules of the game. It's an ancient family and someday he may no longer have a choice in letting go. Better everything is settled now.
As a parent he is... tough. There's a reason Talia and Damien are Like That. There's softness and affection sprinkled in, but... it's a lot of training from a young age. Being able to recognize different poisons. Fighting. Counter attacks. Weaponry and history education. Loyalty to the family.
There isn't a lot of coddling, to be honest. It isn't a reflection of his love for his child- He needs them to be strong to protect themselves. A lot of his affection comes when they finish the sparring. A kiss to the forehead and nursing any bruises. Perhaps he's getting a little softer in his old age. A joke he laughs at.
Bane
some of this I already touched on here on pregnancy hcs.
He's so insanely attentive to his child when he can be. From the moment his nervousness about his child being too fragile passes, that's his baby. Yes, his partner can and will hold the child, but Bane just as well prefers it's always him. Having them against his chest feeling his heartbeat.
He stresses and wants his child's life to be normal. He missed out on what it meant to BE a child. From a young age, he had to be ready for people to hurt him or even try to kill him for his father's crimes. Bane insists that will NOT be the case for him baby. Always a contingency escape plan if needed but otherwise...
He really does his best to be there in the morning for breakfast with them and to take them to school. Tries (and sometimes intimidates horribly) to socialize with teachers and other parents. Even when he's not juiced up, he's a huge man with a criminal record. But as long as no one holds that against his child, there will be no problems.
If there ARE problems, he takes care of them out of sight. His partner and the child don't need to worry about that. It won't happen again :)
Most likely he'll try to teach them boxing or hand to hand once they get a little older. Nothing as intensive as what he had to go through, but he knows he won't always be around to protect them, as much as that pains him. He constantly lets them win.
A sign of affection from me is when I inevitably use too much lotion (happens much more often than it should) I will grab a friend or family members hand (they're always okay with this don't worry) and rub the excess lotion on their hands, think we can get rogue's (writers choice) reaction to something like this? idk i just find it a subtle but nice little way to show you care about somebody without using words.
"Lotion sharing" Rogues Party
This is very cute. You know, it's been a minute since I've done a rogues party. Lucky thirteen, woof! This is a good ask for it, too. All versions are general interpretations!

Riddler
Sucker. Sucker, sucker, sucker- no, not you. Not this time, actually, this is all him. His very human need for affection (particularly physical in his case) often gets pushed down so far it's almost euphoric when he gets it again. It's very addicting and he doesn't want to let your hand go as it presses softly into his skin.
Instead he just gives you this goofy attempt at a smooth look, and discusses the positive brain chemicals attached to physical. Runs his fingers over the back of your hand with a toothy smile. You must have missing him while he was working, hm?
He forgot to rub the lotion in and he remembers after glancing down. A nervous laugh and he's rubbing it in.
Penguin
His hands sometimes resemble talons with the way he keeps them. So you might want to give him a little heads up or he'll accidentally scratch you. It's not intentional and he'll apologize if it happens. And don't suggest a manicure, he hates that garbage. Unless you want to wait on his hands in a skimpy outfit and- You cough, "Off-topic."
This will absolutely turn into flirting oftentimes. He asks specifically you never do this except when the two of you are alone for image-purposes. He'll gladly take some off your hands when he can make goo-goo eyes at you with no one else around, though. oh, he might need more. And yes, you should definitely help him with that-
Mad Hatter
He already has the softest hands. It's because despite all the work he does with clothing, drugs or machinery, he's always wearing some kind gloves. Protection of hands is key, after all. He can be messy or chaotic in every other sense, but he takes this seriously.
He'll give you a silly lopsided smile and say, "Dearest, this will never soak in!" He'll be rubbing it in all over his arm and down his elbows if he has that much exposed. He won't waste a fine gesture as this!
Scarecrow
If you catch him when he's really working, he might not even notice at first when you take one of his hands to rub the excess lotion on him. A lot of "hm? Yes, mm-hm-" Then his brows furrowing as he processes the tactile signals in his brain. He looks over and scrunches his nose when he realizes before rubbing it in. Then he's asking if you think you're quite cute.
Otherwise you don't get much of a reaction. He just takes the lotion, rubs it in and has this tiny amused sort of smile on his face.
Victor Zsasz
Oh that's nice. How did you know he wanted lotion? Your skin is so smooth and soft... He clicks his tongue, your wrist now in his hand. rolling it over and around gently. He likes seeing it against the many marks over his skin. A blank canvas- The things he'd do if you let him.
If he's feeling a particular way he'll press his thumbs into your palms, working the muscle. Feeling it move under his finger while working in the lotion. The way those dark eyes bore into yours, its like he's trying to be under your skin.
Killer Croc
He always needs lotion, so this is perfect. If his skin gets too dry, the "scales" get pronounced and even itchy. Plus growing up in a black community it was ingrained in him early on to use lotion to avoid looking ashen.
His skin sucks it up like water to a sponge sometimes. This is not a man who practices self-care. Yeah, he's not outright reckless and he at least tries now but stuff like that tends to fall to the wayside. Lotion him up, baby!
Harley Quinn
She SEES you put too much on and she's already got her gloves off making grabby hands. Come here sugarpop and lay it on her!
The reason she's so willing is she ALSO will do this. When she was in a more "proper" state she'd simply rub it in over her neck or her elbows. Can't seem too clingy or touchy, right? No one likes that. Now it's just another way for her to to show her love! So... both of you will definitely have moisturized hands.
Poison Ivy
What is this? What are you- oh. It's a sweet gesture but... darling, what lotion is this? You bought it? Ivy sticks up her nose. With her sometimes odd anatomy she's very careful with what she slathers on her skin.
However, you just gave her the perfect excuse to give you homemade lotions. Being a former scientist, she knows her way around an emulsifier. Plus her knowledge in all natural ingredients...
It smells amazing and has zero grease. Also she says it doubles for wound care? The only thing is sometimes bees want to get a little too close. Now you two can share lotion, though.
Two-face
Harv likely makes some small quip about you thinking his hands are dry. What, his dry calluses scratching you up, doll? Harvey simply tsks as he rubs it in and thanks you. He does tend to forget to use anything when in the throes of plotting.
Yet it's Harv that seeks you out when he sees you using lotion. Are you going to use too much? There's almost an anticipatory anxiety to it. He caught on early that it was affectionate, so he wants to nurture that. Even if it's just in his small way of saying he loves you.
Still probably gives you shit about it, though.
Black Mask
No, what is that- Let him see the bottle. He's very paranoid about things put on his skin because of his backstory. Granted, the disfigurement of hundreds of women due to faulty product put out by Janus Cosmetics was his fault, it did make him wary of the horrific things a cream can do to you.
Now that he knows this wasn't an attempt on his life (trust issues, much?), he's more accepting of the gesture. He doesn't "get" it but he'll allow it. Sure, sure, he's on a call. You can rub it in on his hand for him, sweetheart.
Mr. Freeze
....This will not work. Most of the time he's wearing gloves so he can't really just take lotion from you. Here, let his mask fall and you can rub in some excess on his face.
If you do this, your fingers are going to stick for a moment on his icy skin. He feels the burn but... it's alright if it's you. He'll take the sting for a taste of your affections.
The rare moments he's out of his suit, though, he'll gladly take some off of your warm hands. Feel you massage it in over his bony ones. It's so intimate. Because of his... condition... he can't allow himself to crave touch the way a "normal" person would. But he can allow these small indulgences.
Ra's al-Ghul
Oh. What a polite gesture. He was rather confused by it at first, unused to this particular love-language. It's not exactly something most people would feel comfortable doing to him. Or something he'd even allow.
What kind of lotions, do you like, love? He could get you the richest concoctions on Earth, if you wished. He is already getting used to the two of you sharing moments like these...
Bane
What are you doing? He kind of just stands there holding his hands out while you give him the excess. No one has ever done this to him before so the gesture is rather lost on him. For all his intellect and knowledge, he knows not the softness of sharing lotion with a loved one.
When you try to explain it, he breaks into a gentle smile. He sees now. Thank you for giving him this. He still has a lot to learn of a world and people who love him. Such an innocent, small thing that means so much.
