"What if I was," she wanted to sass back but thought better of it. In fact, Kiara had never been more deflated by his answer. It felt like she had laid her soul bare, and that was what he came out with. A frown marred her features as she shook her head. "No. You know what. It doesn't matter. I shouldn't have said anything. Let's just forget it," she mumbled wanting the ground to swallow her whole. It sucked that these feelings had snuck up on her as of late. She didn't know what to do exactly. "You pick another movie, and I'll get some more popcorn," she quickly sat up and made her way to the kitchen, away from him.
