Sol quickly looks up at the voice that startled them from their thoughts, tail lashing slightly due to the fright. "Oh! Good evening," they replied, their guard quickly dropping when they realized there was no threat, only their friend and coworker, Dusty. The ender child had a habit of popping out of the various vents around the office and scaring the daylights out of them.

The half demon carefully set aside the book they had been scribbling in, a log of every mythical animal they'd come across during their research, containing everything from Cockatrices to Hippocampi. It was clear they had been writing a new page in the journal, detailing an encounter with an injured hippogryph they had stumbled across earlier in the day. "Did you need something, Dusty?" They asked, tilting their head slightly.

I’m not entirely sure why some people are re-blogging some of my interactions to their own page, but I have to ask to please stop.

If you like reading it you are more than welcome to like it and go in and read it, but sharing a story line to your own page seems unnecessary and can potentially get confusing.

A pigeon has adopted me.

I swear it wasn’t me, this time! Its wing is a little malformed--can’t fly much--so I bent over to give it a few seeds.

Which it ate up and then jumped higher than I’ve ever seen a bird jump (except emus) to land in my hair and latch on for dear life.

I could only get it out once I got home, and now it keeps finding its way back to my flat every time I bring it outside, farther each time (with every intention to make sure it eats and lives through winter).

I swear this bird can read maps.

It’s riding around on Einstein the tortoise, squawking some pigeon chant to claim its new home, since I didn’t take it right back outside this time but offered some fresh water instead. Which I guess the pigeon takes to mean surrender.

I, erm, have a pigeon now. Or a pigeon has me.

What should I name it? (I haven’t checked sex, but that doesn’t need to go in a name anyway.)

The book seemed to have some advice on how to tell someone something..........

"Oh. That. Right. It probably would help right about now, wouldn't it?" he asked, actually considering searching for it.

You need to read your "How to Talk to People" book again

"Aw man, I completely forgot I even had that book," he answered, crossing his arms. "But why do you say that? I think I'm pretty good with people."

Cue distressed Zax noises. "Steven!" Whine whine, pout pout, full on distress mode. [omg youre here you're here I"m so happy!]

A sheepish grin found itself on his face. "Sorry I've been gone so long... I didn't abandon you, I promise."
