Hi! um -blushes and shifts- i um...i use to roleplay a lot on previous websites, and i really enjoyed it. But the rules and kind of....i guess basis for roleplaying on tumblr seems to be different. Can you explain it do me? Because i honestly really want to start a roleplay with you, but im such a noob that i dont know how. -blushes more and bows- please teach me sempaii
(( Hi! I’ve definitely been in your shoes before; before I began roleplaying on Tumblr, I was roleplaying on Instagram (personally, I much prefer Tumblr to Instagram, but that’s just my opinion). I had no idea what to do!
Here are a few things I can think of…
When wanting to roleplay with a person on Tumblr, it is a sign of respect to read their “About Me” page on their blog. Not doing so is considered very rude, as then you tend to not follow their personal “rules” when you attempt to roleplay. I’ll get to personal rules later.
Speaking of “About Me” pages, I highly recommend having one. It is in both your and a potential roleplayer’s best interest. By having one, they can see things about your muse, what you are comfortable roleplaying, what you are not comfortable roleplaying, etc.
It is very, very important to make it very clear if you are or are not of age. I cannot stress this enough. In the United States, it is illegal for a minor to roleplay smut. Underage smut is considered child pornography and can get both parties in deep, deep trouble.
Having a well-developed muse is ideal. Know all of their quirks, their likes, their dislikes, etc.
If there is someone you want to roleplay with, but you're too scared to send them an ask, try replying to a starter they post!
That's all I can think of for now! I'll add some more things if I think of them.
