Me 99% of the time: I think that hating on other people’s ships in their own posts and under that ships tag is stupid and mean because everyone is allowed to have their own opinion and fandoms should be fun
Also me the second anyone ships Robin with a man: I say kick away, stop this meathead from reproducing and further infecting the world with his unique brand of idiocy
Plot: Max somehow ended up getting deaged after he encounter with Vecna, (let's go under the assumption that her mom is dead or doesn't care) and so Robin and Steve decided to take care of her. This results in the town people of Hawkins believing that Max is Robins and Steve daughter.
And they belive as such because Robin has been going around town wearing baggy clothes for the past 9 months or so. This cause proble.s with Robins parents some ppl say their hippies (in fics)in others not so much and they immediately believe the rumors, Steve's parents are dissiapponted but not shocked.
Robins parents push for steve to get married to Robin since they already had a baby out of "wedlock" this is the least Steve can do. The party finds it haliours (except maybe Lucas).
And for the next 18 months its just steve and Robin becoming more romantic and tackling the parenthood aspect. Also would love some Karen Wheeler cuz her reaction would be priceless.
But yeah this is my plot for a romantic stobin fic thag I so desperately wanna write but know someone else would do a better job.
I also have no clue how Max would be deaged and then reaged. It would kinda just be like season 5 leave it up to speculation. Pls feel free to use the idea. I think it would definitely fall under crack treated seriously
Inspired by a headcanon post I had on my main blog: Steve and Robin have been so platonic in practice that they sometimes forget that Steve has the capacity to be attracted to her in theory. He can’t help but be randomly reminded (often at weird times), and she never lets him live it down. Semi-platonic Stobin, dumb non-platonic undertones? Idk
[Note: Not sure if this is like... the kind of undertone that will get me death threats, or if this plays how I thought of it-- Full acceptance of each other in a fun/friendly manner, even if that includes navigating Steve's old "thing" for her instead of paving over it. Idk how this fic structure will even be, I just started writing, open to suggestions on where to take this.]
“It just blows, because she’s like, almost perfect…” Steve complained into the sink as he splashed his face clean. “… Like I don’t think I’m being too picky, but maybe I’m being too picky?” He blindly toweled his face off, uttering his muffled woes between breaths.
“Totally, totally,” Robin affirmed through a mouthful of toothpaste suds beside him as he continued on. The two of them practically lived together at this point; The frequent just-crash-here's just made more sense than Steve having to pick her up every morning before heading to The Squawk together anyway.
“Like am I just some asshole? I mean, pickins are slim; We’re in a quarantined town for god’s sake, so maybe picking at all is too picky—” He said, turning to leave the room, and glancing over at her. She was leaned forward against the counter, one hand scrubbing away, the other fussing with her hair. He’d seen her like this a thousand times, t-shirt hanging off her shoulder, his old pair of school gym shorts rolled at the waistband. But something about the sight of her in that moment randomly made him short-circuit. Whyy, why is she hot while she brushes her teeth? Jesus...
He tried to discard the feeling as soon as he noticed it, playing it cool, swiftly stepping out of the bathroom. Steve was, of course, always accepting and appreciative of the platonic nature of their relationship. Most of the time, he honestly didn't see her "like that" anymore, and he was nothing if not respectful. But he was also nothing if not still the same man who used to have a thing for her, much to his annoyance (and to her amusement). It always caught him off-guard at the most unexpected times… well, in addition to the expected ones sometimes, but mid-vent-session while she brushed her teeth before work was definitely not on his bingo card. He swallowed, and casually picked his previous ramblings back up, his lapse subtle enough to be imperceptible. “… But ya gotta still be a little picky, right?”
She spit her toothpaste into the sink.
“Really, Dingus? Now?” She called from the bathroom over the hiss of the faucet, wiping the minty residue off her smirk. She didn’t need even need to see him to know. She could feel him almost telepathically at this point. He shorted out again, embarrassed.
“Wha— N— Noo,” He denied unconvincingly from the edge of the bed.
“Steve, I’m brushing my teeth! Really?” She laughed at him. “What kind of person—”
“I don’t know! Men? Guys? Maybe girls too, I don’t know!” He stood up and paced back over towards her, reappearing in the doorway.
“Well nobody normal!”
“Oh, because you’re so normal.”
“I’m not even normal,” She said, picking up the toothbrush again. “And I’m still more normal than—”
“Ha, ha. Come on—” He reached, trying and failing to grab it from her. She threatened him jokingly, putting it back in her mouth with a comical un-sexiness.
“More normal than you,” She mumbled around the toothbrush, dodging Steve's attempts to remove it. “Robin Buckley: lesbian band geek, still more normal than Steve Harrington: toothbrush fetishist?” A little droplet of spit flung out as she tried to complete her last words around the brush, and she immediately clapped a hand to her mouth, half as an oopsie gesture, and half to stifle the spray of laughter that followed. They both buckled.
“Ew, stop, stop! It’s not the toothbrush; I don’t know!” He laughed sincerely. “It was just, like, a moment. A second. Not even that.” He threw his hands up to emphasize his innocence. Robin crinkled her nose skeptically with a little tilt of her head. “And it was not. about. the toothbrush!” He continued through an exasperated smile.
Do I think Robin is bi? Not really (I don't think it ever been said clearly that she is a lesbian not bi but I can be wrong)
My friends are lesbian and I know that some of them had a guy crush at some point or says that their crush could be their exception. (I'm not saying all lesbians do ofc)
Some people need to understand that shipping and writing fanfics about stobin is not bad (unless you are being clearly homophobic and saying that Robin's character is straight, then this is not okay.) It's a fanFICTION it's an AU (alternative universe) that it's a what if..? story. People make headcanons and Aus all the time about their fandom because it's not real.
Romantic stobin is in my opinion really cute concept. Steve being her exception and the besties vibes stay the same but some kisses and more I love yous and cuddles are added to their already close relationship. It's just an au for me and I love it.
You don't have to like my view or even tolerate it or respect my point but you have to respect me and that I can have my opinions and ship what I want. Some people even get deah threats for shipping it which is just crazy and sick.
How do you feel about Sapphic Stobin? With GB!Steve or Trans!Steve?
honestly i think it would be soooo cute, i really like this concept. but its not really my main thing. GB!steve would be amazing thing to see because i think he's already really cunty like come on you saw this look in s3? i can totally imagine seeing him wearing lipgloss or even letting robin put makeup on him when shes bored but he will try to convince her that hes only alowing her to do it because he loves her and doesnt want her to get bored, or pracitce manicure on him. i think its a really cute concept and i like it but its not my main thing and im not planning on making like tons of content for it but i really like it
Uhhhm, was this meant for me? This feels like it was mean for another person, flower, because I don't do headcanons and - so far - I haven't done much Stranger Things stuff (unless you count my Billy Hargrove rant, haha).
Apart from that: Nothing to say, I love Steve and Robin as platonic friends with the capital P it deserves!
