Enjoy these rich brownie trifles, which are perfect for a romantic dessert for two. A delicious treat that's great for sharing is made with layers of rich brownie cubes, creamy whipped cream, and optional toppings.
Ingredients: 1/4 cup unsalted butter. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 1/4 cup cocoa powder. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1 large egg. 1/4 cup all-purpose flour. 1/4 cup chocolate chips. 1/4 cup heavy cream. 1/4 cup whipped cream or whipped topping. 2 tablespoons chopped nuts optional. 2 tablespoons chocolate sauce optional.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 350F 175C. Grease and flour two small baking dishes or ramekins. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the sugar, cocoa powder, and salt until well combined. Add the vanilla extract and egg to the mixture, stirring until smooth. Gradually mix in the flour until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared baking dishes. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs. Allow the brownies to cool slightly, then cut them into small cubes. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. To assemble the trifles, layer the brownie cubes, whipped cream, and optional chopped nuts and chocolate sauce in two serving glasses or bowls, repeating the layers as desired. Finish with a dollop of whipped cream on top and a drizzle of chocolate sauce, if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
