not to be a hedonist but humans are meant for pleasure. we play, we laugh, we dance. we have sex for pleasure, eat for pleasure. we bare our teeth as a sign of joy, not aggression. humans are meant to enjoy things. its in our very nature.
Trying to become a 2000s yoga girl in 2026 (and what it's actually teaching me) 🧘♀️🍵
There's something about the early 2000s yoga girl aesthetic that feels so soft and untouchable. Think low-rise folder leggings, messy buns, wired headphones, pilates at sunrise, green tea un clear mugs, blurry digital camera photos, and that quiet healing without announcing it.
It's very Brandy Melville before it became 'corporate core' it's the beach mornings and journaling energy. It's not loud wellness, but quiet discipline.
And this year, I decided I want that.
But here's what I've learned so far:
Ways to romanticize your life ୨ৎ
wake up early to watch the sunrise
use your favorite mug for a morning drink
go on a solo date to a cozy café
light a candle while you work or study
play soft instrumental music while cooking
dance in your room to nostalgic music
make your bed every morning
watch your favorite movie with snacks
wear an outfit that makes you feel confident
add fresh flowers to your space
watch your favorite childhood movie
start a creative hobby
keep a collection of your favorite poems
treat yourself to your favorite dessert
read your comfort book
watch the stars on a clear night
write a letter to your future self
wear perfume even if you’re staying home
set up a cozy nook for reading or journaling
look for beauty in small details
smile at yourself in the mirror every morning
take a walk in nature
stay up to watch the moonrise
stick to your selfcare routine
organize your desk with cute stationery
capture small moments with a disposable camera
talk kindly to yourself
watch the sunset

₊˚⊹How to make your life more whimsical: the ultimate guide⊹˚₊
𓆏 Food It doesn't have to be an everyday thing if you don't have the time, but consider taking some time of your day to prep food, even just a meal, and make it look magical. A cute meal will make eating healthy easier + cooking less expensive than eating out. So many pros, right? what's better than a whimsy, healthy and on budget meal? Good for your body and your soul!
𓆏 Clothes Today I saw a girl on Instagram that is making a serie on how she is whimsyfing(?) her clothes and that seemed like such a great idea. Instead of buying new stuff you can reshape and redecorate your old clothes to make them look cuter. There are a lot of techniques to do this (and they also double as fun hobbies to have) like embroidery, punch needle, beading, straight up sewing, etc. But if you don't feel too confident doing that, there are always the good old hot glue gun, brooches and premade patches that you can attach with an iron.
𓆏 Moving your body Can I be honest for a minute? I hate going to the gym. It's boring, it's sad and often embarrassing (I will not further elaborate iykyk). However moving your body is super important, it is probably never been as important as it is in the digital era since we are all attached to our chairs/beds, sooo.....let's make it whimsy! The type of physical activity that I like is walking, especially in nature, bike riding, roller skating and swimming. You can also play a sport with your friends like volleyball, tennis, football or whatever you like. Join a ballet class, a tango class, a hip hop class. Let's please detach ourselves from the idea that the only thing for cute girls is pilates, try something new and fun, there are so many chances to explore.
𓆏 Decor Decor EVERYTHING, make your world yours. Doodle on the notebooks, add stickers to your computer, rearrange the furniture, embroider the clothes, make new playlist covers, you got it. Make your presence visible, tangible, like it was when you were a child.
𓆏 Touch some grass Spend time in nature as much as you can, play fairies in the forest, play mermaids at the beach, buy a new plant for your apartment, go hiking, watch the birds, linger in the sun. Spending time in nature helps regulate your nervous system and will make you feel more peaceful and creative.
𓆏 Studying Romanticize studying as much as you can (I will make a new post about this). Light some candles, choose an inspiring playlist, imagine yourself as a student from the 1800s, everything can be a game.
𓆏 Find new hobbies The best way to get in touch with your whimsical and creative side is to put the damn phone aside and find a hobby that allows you to fully express yourself, try to learn how to play a musical instrument, to knit, to paint, to write, whatever resonates with you, engage with that without fear.
𓆏 Change the way you look at things But the most important thing is changing the way you look at the world, stop focusing on the negative and look for magic and beauty in your everyday life. When you'll be able to do that you will reach your full whimsy potential. Also, PLEASE, do not think that you need to purchase stuff in order to be more whimsical, the vibe is all about escaping the gray life of capitalism, I see a lot of people on TikTok trying to transform being whimsy in the latest shopping trend but this is like violently m*rdering the soul of the entire movement (like they did for barbie lol). Whimsy is about creating, repurposing and romanticizing, not consuming.
