TW: TRANSMASC STILL GETS PERIODS, MIGHT BE TRIGGERING FOR SOME READERS
Summary: You started your period and are having a bad day. Thankfully your amazing boyfriend, Dick Grayson, is here for you.
Welp, It was that time of the month again.
You woke up and just knew. You were all too familiar with the feeling. The light-headedness and the way your face broke out in bumps. The cramping and thigh pain and the constant strain of your back.
It was killing you.
See, your period was always something you dread. Something that anyone with uterus dreaded, realistically, but for you more so. It always made you feel…off. Weird. Deeply uncomfortable in a way that went beyond the normal discomfort and pain that came with your usual period.
When you finally realized what you were, it clicked.
It was a horrible reminder of what you were. Or what you weren't, more so. What you weren't born with, more specifically. Like, every month was just another reminder of your own misfortune. And sure, since the transition, things weren't as bad that used to be. Getting a hair cut and starting 'T' helped your self esteem and confidence, but it wasn't the same.
You're laying on the couch of you and your boyfriend's condo. A heating pad on your back and stomach. It was a horrible pain day, the first few days always were. You could barely get out of bed to move, but since lucky has never been on your side, you bled through the sheets overnight and had too.
Thankfully, Dick was always there to comfort and support you. He placed you in a nice warm tub to soak while he cleaned the comforter and sheets, and once you were done; gave you warm clothes he got straight out the dryer.
It was nice being looked after.
He had to go out on patrol, his job not being something that he can simply take a day off from, but he leave you with a kiss on your lips and a promise to buy your favorite food.
Before you knew it, he was home and you both shared a nice hot warm meal together. Days like these always brought you down, the pain and discomfort in your own body was not something that was easily overcome—but with him? It felt easier. Lighter. More doable.
And maybe, sometimes, that's all you need.
Woof, writers block has me in a chokehold. I could barely get through this. But as always, comments, constructive feedback and reposts are MORE than welcomed.
