Rome wasn't (re)built in a day | Romestead/Balatro/Ultrakill stream afterword (24/02/2026)
TL;DR, my laptop hates me!!
Today's stream was a bit impromptu, and makes it 2/2 streams that are off the schedule I announced I would stick to. however, I wanted to give the demo for a game called Romestead a go and the *actual* scheduled streams wouldn't allow for it (the demo closes before the first free slot).
I've honestly been enjoying these recent streams where I chat nonsense before getting into the game. I hadn't done it as much, and I do understand why people do it now, lol. it did slightly lead to spending a solid half an hour remembering pokemons' names. except like charmeleon apparently!
by the time I got back on track and booted the game at last, it turned out that the game was a little unoptimised for streaming, at least for lower-spec devices. it's probably because it loads in the whole area at once? I'm unsure, but I'm sure there's some optimisation it could make. I then moved on to try and stream Umamusme, but it didn't want to capture, so then I moved on to Balatro, which did want to capture. for the duration of the stream, I left the window capture for my browser up, which had the pokemon guesser up, which I think would only be slightly aesthetically displeasing while I played Balatro.
I was about to raid out at the end of stream (would you believe it) and then I got raided, lmfao. the desire to entertain was strong, so I skipped over to Ultrakill, (FRAUD TODAY! (by the time this post goes up)) and I got jumpscared by foxy twice (light modding that slightly crashes the game when it happens). absolute cinema.
