Romulus stands alone within the largest part of the Archives, listening to the walls around him. To most, it would be silent. To him, haunted whispers worm their way through his ears.

Romulus’ hands curl into fists, his lips pursed as he snarls, “So we got ourselves a little Court Jester, hm? You know what happens when the Jester isn’t entertaining?”

Romulus presses his heel against the bridge, the ground cracking and fraying underfoot; the heartbeat you thought you heard within the bridge pounds anxiously and skips a beat. You’re hurting something. Or perhaps… someone? Or perhaps… someones?

”Ha… ha,” he snarls mockingly, the cracks along the bridge’s edge spreading and multiplying like glass that is a touch away from fracture, “you know what happens with little disrespectful so-called jesters? Do you know?! I’ll let you be the next main event if you keep this up. You’d be wise to remember _who_ you are speaking with. Do I make myself clear?!”

The flames of rage are palpable, smoke in the air that will soon find its way to your lungs if you’re not careful.

You shouldn’t have said that, silly, stupid, little jester. Now you will topple the first domino and reap its regret.
