Stranger Things 5 Rewrite Announcement
The Ronance Debate has come to an end. If you haven’t seen my most recent post, I have decided not to continue the ship war polls because they’ve ultimately been unproductive to my decision making. You can check out that post for further explanation if you would like. The real announcement here is that I have officially decided Ronance will not be endgame. I know a lot of people really love Ronance, and so do I. But the more I think about it, I feel like it would be more meaningful to Nancy’s story if she finally had a genuine friendship (that isn’t a love interest) for the first time since Barb. I know the popular conversation to be had around Nancy is who she should end up with, but regardless of that I think it’s important to show her finally starting to heal and get close to a friend (Robin) again after Barb’s death, especially since that loss and the guilt that came with it are at the root of her internal battle. Again this is not to say I don’t like Ronance as a ship or anything, I would just rather include platonic Ronance in this rewrite. I’m sorry to anyone who really wanted Ronance and is disappointed. I am still unsure if I’ll be writing Jancy or Stancy, but I’m going to focus on posting about major plot ideas and how they all fit together. I will announce Jancy or Stancy endgame as soon as I’ve decided. If anyone has any thoughts on either ship, I would love to discuss them in the comments, but as I said, there will be no more ship polls.
