Ronansey is real because earlier today I was having a casual chat with my mother about my siblings and I’s tattoos and I said I think I might do a raven cycle quote for my next one. She asks which one, I say “dream me the world” would be cool. She looks at me with such utter confusion and says it’s quite romantic, it wouldn’t really fit with my other tattoos. I turn the same look upon her. She asks who says it. I say Gansey. She asks to who. I say Ronan. She says don’t they kiss in the last book? I say no, Ronan’s with Adam, Gansey’s with Blue. The conversation devolves from there. She insists Gansey and Ronan kiss and she’s heard the plot of these books enough times, she knows it happened. I argue that I have read them enough times to know that they absolutely do not but do acquiesce that their relationship is quite homoerotic and borderline codependent. She says no, I’m pretty sure they kiss at some point. I once again say they do not do that. She says well I still think it’s too romantic.

Has she read the books? No. Is ronansey canon to her? Apparently, and she will take no argument on it. She literally told me we could disagree

Once again thinking about the way Ronan inner-monologues about Gansey in chapter 9 of The Dream Theives.

Highlighting the whole thing would be redundant, but I really do love this whole paragraph. "[Gansey] was definitely part of the problem". Ronan fixating on Gansey's collarbone. Ronan saying "No one could deny Gansey was a glorious portrait of youth" as if presenting it as an objective fact rather than his subjective opinion makes it less gay. “Ordinarily, he was so polished that it was bearable" implication his beauty is unbearable right now. Ronan burying his yearning under anger.

Also the brilliance of Noah noticing

The mention of secrets calling back to the prologue; Ronan's second secret, the one he keeps from himself, playing in the background. Oh STIEFVATER you TRICKSTER you!

Anyways originally I was gonna do this format with pynch when I got this idea, but then I rembered this scene existed (at the end of the Raven king when the demon is unmaking Ronan and right before Gansey dies), and I was like oh. Well that’s the one then.

Anyways this song is so Gansey toward Ronan coded and I wanted everyone to feel my immense pain when listening to this song and remembering that Gansey died to save Ronan from the night wash. Plus just the fact that Gansey never gave up on him no matter how many times everyone (including Ronan himself) did.

Also ignore the messiness, I was motivated enough to make it, not enough to make it good
