maybe it's just because i am sooo not religious but i feel like making a character like renee walker religious takes away from her impact.
i would see renee being the kind-hearted, mature, genuinely good person she is as so much more powerful if her reason behind it wasn't because of the bible and god. her story would be so much more impactful if she chose to be good simply because she wanted to. i just hate the “they found god and now they're pure” thing so much
like to me it means so much more for a person/character to find goodness in them because they want it rather than attributing it to religion
oblivious neil/jealous andrew but it's not just andrew who gets jealous. all the foxes see some guy flirting with neil, and every single one of them immediately starts to intervene because hey wtf you can't do that! that's neil! neil is andrew's! this cannot happen it is preposterous get away from him!!???
do you guys ever think about how disgusted and horrified and guilty pig higgins must have felt after finding out that andrew was being sexually abused and he hadn't noticed?
new chapter of my neil allegedly has a "little sister" fic !!!

What drew Naomi’s attention the most, though, was the wall of pictures. There were fancy, professional, framed photographs on the wall with all of the Exy players in orange, and there were smaller, unframed pictures taped up of the Exy players up close. Naomi ran over to the wall and stood on her tiptoes in order to see all of it. Her eyes were immediately drawn to the corner dedicated to three girls. There was one girl with dark skin and short hair, another with long, long blonde hair and lots of make-up, and one girl with short hair with rainbows in it. Naomi squealed and jumped in her spot. She pointed frantically at a photograph of the rainbow-haired girl, wanting a name, but Neil wasn’t looking at her, busy admiring the team photos himself.
She froze, eyes wide, when Andrew’s shadow fell over her. He pointed to the rainbow-haired girl in the picture and said, “Renee,” before turning and walking away.
Naomi rushed over to Neil’s side, grabbing onto his arm and pulling. Neil didn’t pay her any mind.
“Dan's good people,” Nicky was saying when Naomi joined him and Neil, “but she'll work you to the bone. Allison's a catty bitch you should avoid at all costs. Renee's a sweetheart. Be nice to her.”
“Or else?” Neil said, prompting nothing more than a smile and a shrug from Nicky before Nicky followed Andrew. Finally, Naomi had Neil’s attention. “Hm?” Neil hummed in a questioning tone.
Naomi pulled his arm over to the picture she had found of the three girls and pointed at it. “Girls!” she whispered excitedly. Whenever Neil and Naomi went to the library to use the computers to look at all the Exy stuff that Neil liked to keep up with, there were barely any girls at all. There had been only two girls on Neil’s team back in Millport, and Neil never let Naomi meet them, since she wasn’t allowed to talk to any of them anyway. But since they would be staying with all the Foxes, maybe Neil would let her talk to them. Maybe Naomi could play Exy like them, too.
Andrew is absolutely going to teach his nieces every swear word he can think of, knowing full well they’ll fall for it without a second thought. just picture Andrew sitting there, completely deadpan. “Say fuck… Fuck.” and the girls, with their wide, innocent eyes, happily repeating every word after their favorite uncle while Neil watches from the sidelines, already knowing Aaron is about to have the worst day of his life.
when andrew was little he was definitely one of those kids that constantly had his hair over his eyes and needed a haircut so badly but refused to get one
They got into Andrew’s car and drove to the building where Andrew would be taking his exam. Before heading inside, Andrew checked to make sure the volume on the DS was turned to zero and reminded Olwen that she had to be quiet the whole time he was taking his exam. He didn’t care that much about his grade, but talking during the exam meant a zero, and if Andrew wanted to stay on the stupid Exy team, he couldn’t get a zero. It would be quick, anyway, considering that it was multiple choice and Andrew had the closest thing to a perfect memory that existed.
Andrew’s professor eyed Olwen at Andrew’s side when Andrew went up to pick up his exam and scantron from the front table, but Andrew glared back at him. The professor eventually backed off, though not without teasing Olwen by offering her an exam. However, Olwen’s sense of humor was pretty specific and revolved solely around bothering Kevin Day, so she didn’t seem to understand that the professor was joking and began to frown with nervousness. Andrew just turned around and tugged on Olwen’s sleeve to get her to follow.
The exam took Andrew about twenty minutes to complete. As soon as he turned it in at the front, he and Olwen were out of there.
They spent the rest of the day together in a comfortable silence. They had mostly wiped out all their energy for conversation at breakfast that morning, so neither minded the quiet. Andrew had some errands to run, and it was nice to have Olwen as a small companion.
The two of them went to the grocery store to restock the kitchen without Kevin’s nagging, horrible, health-nut input, then to the mall to fill Olwen’s remaining closet space with clothes more suited for cold weather (much to Olwen’s dismay—she did not seem to like clothes shopping one bit). Once that was done, they stopped by the food court to get some overpriced pretzel bites, then finally headed to Reddin for Andrew’s usual Wednesday appointment with Bee.
