Oh who are all your staff based or inspired by?

Catrina Maravilla: Original Catrina (before she was "Catrina") was based on Ernesto de la Cruz but eventually she became more of an Imelda mixed with La Muerte

Sarafina Abara: A mix between Uru and Sarabi. I wanted a lioness who would be tough love towards Leona (and give him a reason for his fear respect of Savannah women)

Lucien Donadieu: Originally he was based on Sarousch but the more I developed him the more I left that behind and he became more of a twst Madellaine

Emiliano Posada: He became my Ernesto de la Cruz oc. But his UM takes inspiration from Xibalba (gets the skull eyes)

Sergio Rodriguez: I had an Imelda and an Ernesto so I wanted a Hector. Also making him let me work on Catrina's childhood and the dynamic of the Maravilla siblings (another person to know the old Catrina and mourn Dante but he was with the Maravillas for the 10 years Catrina wasn't)

Elysia Di Siena: I had a spell book inspired oc before but I wanted to make a different one (who's skin wasn't literally paper though they might make a come back). Her main inspiration is V from Devil May Cry

Valdis Di Siena: Wanted to keep with Elysia's V inspiration and make a mix of Griffon and Shadow (why he's a cat). More serious than Elysia to balance her out. One loves humanity while one hates humanity.

Lorcan Bellamira: I wanted an attractive vampire with his specific heterochromnia (one brown eye and one pale blue) so I made him for self satisfaction

Aegeus Hexis: I kept working on Galatea and wanted to make her dad a full character. Galatea has no emotions currently towards her death, so Aegeus is the sole emotional look we have at her death (since Loxias blocked it out)

Eztli Maravilla: Listen... I was falling for Zatz from Maya y los tres... So I wanted to make a twst version of him. Plus it was slightly Azteca aka Mexica which then became Mexico and so connected to the Maravillas. And a kind counterpart of death compared to his mom

La Muerte: I wanted a scorned woman who would be the reason for the Maravilla's connection to death. She's who lead the Maravillas to their doom

Deus: Working on Yua, and the book spirit was always a factor of her story but I kept wanting to make them an actual character. I adore snakes so I went with snakes with the added bonus that snakes can eat crows to show him against Crowley

The desire to make more "joke" characters off of cryptids because of Rontia, aka moth man girl

NRC may be getting more "cursed" professors but I don't know what cryptids I should make

She's a 7ft tall moth lady who walks the campus at night to make sure everything is okay (Crowley stop hiring strange people plz)

Since it's april fools I'll do some cuter/funnier facts~

Catherine Shire

When she first wakes up(only for a few minutes) her eyes are blue. Her magic has to catch up. Her hair still stays pink

She's terrible with bitter things

She can't climb a tree. She uses her magic to get up there. She can jump down no problem

She has a bell on her choker as she used to silently pounce on Riddle when they were first years. Now he can hear her

Lovette Sieglinde

When she wakes up her hair is a mess

She's terrible with mornings, much grumpier

Very selective on who can touch her tail or ears

Veil Aecor

She is terrible with the cold(as a snake) so she's much more touchy when it's cold

When she's upset(when she can emote) she gains a lisp

Her slight awkwardness only increases her intimidating nature (not good with human interactions)

Galatea Hexis

If her dorm mates teach her, she will randomly quote memes/try to use modern lingo but out of context

Hard to tell when she is joking(android)

Jasper Wocky

His handwriting is very messy

Will use his wings as umbrellas for others

He does shed his scales and will at times gift them to friends (they're extremely durable and sharp)

Xander Arripio

If he's nervous he'll speak in the 3rd person

Is terrible at hiding/lying

Qarin Bhasin

Can/does fall out of trees despite being feline

"Dorm mom" (he hates when he's called that)

Will make sure his dorm members eat

Sai Krishan

Usually does a closed eye smile

10/10 will lift an unsuspecting "victim" up into the trees

Lucius Toombs

Will speak through his tarot cards (ex: "the cards say you should buy me lunch")

Makes jokes about his ghost form(trapped in his crystal ball, "I'm on a roll")

Carlisle Gracey

Very dramatic ("I'll die of boredom" "You're already dead....")

Take his hat away and he'll be forced to take his ghost form

Catrina Maravilla

Has named plants after people she loves(ex: Dante, Trein, etc.)

Her flowers reflect how she feels(petals falling = tired; withered= sick; etc)

Rontia Chesis

Often loses tract of what she's saying if interrupted

Like a moth, she is drawn to bright light

If there is an intense argument happening(mainly in staff meetings) she'll just scream/screech

Yesenia is a really strict (and unknown age old) teacher but she tries her best to be nice! Workaholic tendencies and has high standards but it’s bc she ~believes in ppl~ lol

Oh yeah also doesn’t like Crowley and always exists in a state of ‘I’m about to kick his ass if he casually shoves his responsibilities onto others AGAIN’, pretty blunt and straightforward!

Mayhaps the grumpy cat?

Valdis is definitely the strict one in the immortal duo. He does work a lot for only being a teacher's assistant (mainly cause Elysia is usually on the run/not in the classroom). But he does assist other professors to make sure they reach his standards. Cat and bird relationship with Crowley, he doesn't like him at all. While he finds Elysia's flippant behavior charming, he is only annoyed with crowley (reminds him too much of his previous master). Valdis would definitely be relieved to have someone who holds his standards.

Another strict professor would be Sarafina (Sara). Animal language professor who takes no bs (often is found with Leona over her shoulder to take him back to class). Instead of a wine aunt, she's a beer aunt. Semi permanent glare. Secretly, not so secretly plots Crowley's demise (jokingly). Super blunt, doesn't care much for others feelings (won't sugar coat at all). Sara would appreciate her bluntness, too many people used flowery language around her (because she's Leona's aunt so the ✨bloodline✨)

Wow both are just angry cats, huh?

On the opposite end, there's Rontia and Elysia. Neither women are very serious and strangely like Crowley. Rontia finds him entertaining and Elysia finds him "quirky"(reminds her of her old master). Would they test her patience? Probably, mainly Rontia.
