The Ravender kiss, but with Neville

"Gryffindor! Gryffindor! Gryffindor!" The house chanted after the first quidditch game of the year. They played against Slytherin, and won by a landslide. The chasers that year proved themselves to be great players. The beaters were wonderful, and lived up to the Weasley twins' glory. Harry, as always, out done himself as secker. And Ron, he stopped every single quaffle the Slytherin team threw at him. It was incredible. 

When they went back to the common room to celebrate Gryffindor's victory, there was chaos in every direction. Neville, however, was only focussed on Ron. On how much he improved in the sport, in school and just in life. How much they both improved. And how much closer they've gotten over fifth year. How brave and loyal and funny Ron was. And how he made Neville want to be braver and bolder every day. 

Neville walked over to Ron, who was in the center of the room, grabbed Ron by the neck, and kissed him. He knew everyone was staring at them, but he barely even noticed. All he could focus on was the butterflies in his stomach, Ron's hands around his waist, and the feeling of him kissing him back.

At some point the crowd started cheering. Then Hermione left the room. Then Harry followed. The party started cooling down and Ron and he went up to their dorm room. They talk a bit, about school, their parents, and the kiss. They both knew a war was coming. That them, their family and their friends will be in danger. But at that moment, it didn't matter. They were two teenagers who liked each other, and nothing else mattered. 

They went to sleep in Ron's bed together, holding each other closely, not caring about the war, the d.a. or their classes tomorrow. All they cared about, in that moment, was each other.

What are your thoughts on Ron/Neville as a ship?

Hi! Sorry if this has been here really long, I mostly use tumblr on my phone and asks etc. Get lost sometimes...

Anyway, I mostly like to headcanon Neville as an aroace uninterested in romance or sex, but if I were to ship him with someone, or if I imagine him in a queerplatonic relationship, then Ron is definitely someone I think could fit! I've read a fic with neville/Ron and found it really cute! So I guess I low key ship neville/ron, but I also really like romione, and Neville with others (tho mostly queerplatonically), so yeah...
