Notes of Pride Flash Comp

Happy Pride Month! (Flash Comp)

Join the Snapeshifters' Snape-centric Discord server for this month's Snapesignment. We're celebrates two things: songs that inspire us and LGBTQIA+ representation. For this challenge, your work should: (a) be inspired by a song (lyrics are optional - vibes, themes, or mood are totally fine), and (b) include an LGBTQIA+ story element. Prompts will be either:

🎵 a song-related element (e.g. “a song that mentions a mailman” or “a song that mentions alcohol”) 🏳️‍🌈 an LGBTQIA+ story element (e.g. “coming out,” “platonic life partner,” “Fire Island”).

Any/Poly ship/Gen: Dumbledore's decided, after Lupin's fun DADA end of year exam and the 'success' of the Triwizard maze, that all OWL subjects will be tested via an obstacle course (like the one guarding the Philosopher's Stone.) To their chagrin, well… the staff have to set that up.

Severus Snape & Horace Slughorn or Snape/Slughorn: The old Potions Master regrets his relationship with Tom Riddle, and he's scared of the similarities he sees in his colleague…

Any ship/Gen: Annual summer beach holiday/staff retreat.

neither “that’s not canon” nor “fuck canon we made this all up” but a secret third thing (canon shouldn’t be taken as gospel but is useful as a reference point for building upon and recontextualizing characters and details. if you worship the source material as unchangeable then fandom in general probably isn’t for you. if you have complete disdain for the source material you would probably enjoy yourself more in a different fandom)

You said you're a pro shipper? That means problematic shipper which means that you either ship abusive relationships or children with adults, etc. do you ship those or something gross like that?

my brother in christ you cannot be more wrong and I'm so tired. also if you ask a random stranger this in real life, a random stranger who's mature enough to understand the difference between fiction and reality, they will look at you like you speak gibberish.

proship stance = anti harassing real people over goddamned fiction. your kink is not my kink and that's okay. don't like don't read. there are some prompts that trigger the fuck out of me. I don't read it. I don't even like it. but I will defend its rights to exist because

1.) it is fiction

2.) no one in real life is harmed

3.) it cannot harm you unless you go searching for it, knowing it will upset or trigger you

4.) a lot of victims and survivors cope and heal through fiction, a safe and controlled environment

5.) censorship is a fascist tool. once you allow one thing to be censored because someone somewhere doesn't want it to exist, anything and everything can and will be censored.

A fabulous familiar's flash comp, featuring Snape with creatures big and small! There are 20 prompts and a max word count of 2000. Artists will be welcome as usual (using the same prompts!)
