Here's a lie. I've struggled with my weight all my life. Here's a truth. I'm a big guy with a bigger appetite than anyone you know and sometimes I gain weight in the offseason. Summer 2014, my brother sneaks this photo of me and I was disgusted with what I saw. First with the haircut, then with the shorts but mostly with the tire around my waist.
Here's a question. What's more detrimental to my health in the off-season? Six weeks of partying or six weeks of eating everything in sight? Here's an answer. I don't know but they are both terrible, especially when they are done together. That's exactly how Summer 2014 got away from me. I was in desperate need of a damn intervention. I told my brother we're going to take this same picture at this same time during Summer 2015 and I promised it'll be different. I kept that promise by implementing a few nutritional rules, noted what was and was not working. One rule became two and two rules became four. Five years later, I have never looked back. I'm currently in the best shape of my life, down 20lbs from my heaviest playing weight and down 40lbs from my heaviest overall weight. (That sloppy 270 pictured above).
Here's the deal. I've been selected as a featured athlete for the new Rookee App. My personal workout and nutrition information will be available right at your fingertips. I took the liberty of getting as specific as I could for them. You want to know how I eat and train in the preseason when my focus is upping my cardiovascular health. It's on there. You interested in how I work out and what I consume during a normal day of the season when muscle maintenance and optimal performance are key? It's on there. Maybe you're curious about what my offseason nutrition and fitness plan look like when I tend to focus more on my overall strength. Guess what? Yup, that's on there too.
Hear me out. In a world where the quantity of information available is ever increasing, it pays to get some quality information from time to time. And that's exactly what the Rookee app provides for you. If you want to Eat and Train like the Pros then Here's where you need to be.
