grad school application process has started and what once felt like a distant future thing is starting to feel very, very real
so i just landed my first wedding photography gig (wtf)
so. i injured my foot in the spring of 2024 when i started running again. i originally dealt with it by simply not running anymore and walking instead, but that didn't work, so i decided to forgo exercise for awhile and see if it felt better
it did get better – until i started up exercising again. i hadn't been able to seriously exercise since march of last year, so i finally went to an ortho who specializes in feet/ankles. i did PT, got orthotics (which i love), but it's still not better.
so anyway i'm getting an MRI right at the beginning of 2026 and if that comes up blank we're looking at foot surgery to realign my pinky toe (???) MY PINKY TOE
y'know, sometimes i wish i could enjoy things a normal amount
even among people who enjoy things a more-than-normal amount i still tend toward an intensity that's unmatched probably 95% of the time
it's kind of a lonely experience at times honestly
owning music is so sexy
im getting married in 3 fucking weeks ??????????
sometimes i just listen to old songs i wrote and posted on my long-abandoned soundcloud because otherwise i'll simply forget that i was a musician for nearly half my life
i wish i could go back in time and give that version of myself a hug
so i have a bunch of photos from my solo gorge trip that i've been editing, and have been torn between the more true to life vibe and the more imagined vibe and i'm like "oh, i should keep them truer to life out of principle" but then i'm like "who cares - it's art"
idk, the more true-to-life editing is starting to feel a bit stale to me? i'm not about to go back to my brown monstrosity era, that's for sure. but sometimes it's fun to edit things to look like how they felt rather than just how they looked, y'know?
p.s. dropping a new substack at 12:30pm EDT today :)
