Motel Hell (1980) Vincent and Ida run a local Motel, selling their prized meats, people come from far and wide and nobody knows the secret. However, when Vincent’s brother, Sheriff Bruce takes an interest in one of his ‘guests’ he finds out more than he could have imagined! A real strange one is Motel Hell, because it’s not bad but it’s also not particularly good either! The story is very simple, but leaves the plot twist wayyyyy too long when it’s pretty evident what’s going on but you want it confirmed in the story. It goes the long way around and you can tell. However saying that, Rory Calhoun puts on a great show in his role as Vincent, and even Nancy Parsons as Ida. I couldn’t fault the acting in this and felt they played their parts fantastic! The scenes are all very similar in look and feel, so the film becomes very slow and familiar, with not a whole lot going on, and a fair bit of repetition. It makes for quite a drawn out film that can feel a lot longer than it is! It’s that strange country and Texas chainsaw feel again, which is expected for an early 80’s flick, but fails to draw the creepiness of Texas Chainsaw but does add its own Chainsaw battle at the end! Overall, Motel Hell is a slow burner that never really takes off, it’s a steady watch and has a great acting performance from Calhoun. An interesting watch but not one to write home about! #MotelHell #MotelHellMovie #MotelHellReview #CultClassic #RoryCalhoun #80s #80sMovie #CultMovie #ArrowVideo #ArrowVideoCollector #OldSchool #CountryFilm #HorrorSlasher #Omareviews #FilmReview #MovieReview #Reviewer https://www.instagram.com/p/B6DmhlOFJTf/?igshid=yglnewfr0exb
