Please tell me no one at SPN said bisexuality isn't real :( I know that's what they say with their treatment or queerness, which is bad enough, but if anyone at the show said it outright, that's even more harmful to fans.

no, no, that was a joke. i'm not familiar with anyone outright saying those words. i'm very sorry that phrasing was confusing. 

i made that joke because of exactly what you have pointed out- they're incredibly resistant to even talk about lgbt representation, to the point that they tell people not to ask those questions at cons anymore. (perhaps they think that charlie covers everything completely? i adore her, but... no.) that and things like the "transgender werewolf" joke. if they don't think that those issues are just jokes, if they think that better representation is needed, they do a pretty poor job of showing it.

I think season 10 has been uneven/mediocre/sometimes poor/meandering/underwhelming/etc. but in terms of reasons for Cas not being there, I think they've done a much better job than some other seasons. In season 8 (which I felt had potential but they threw in the towel by the last 3/4 of the season), they would just ignore Cas in the scripts for long periods of time, to the point where a writer even apologized on Twitter. Dean and Sam saw him bleeding from the eye and still didn't care.

I'm not saying it wasn't better, but I'm not grading on a curve. This is just...entirely underwhelming and frustratingly disappointing. We've seen good writing from them and we have the right to demand a certain level of quality. If they can't keep up that quality they should end the show, plain and simple.

Applauds you for your SPN post. I think tumblr makes some people think they need to make a dramatic stage play for their followers every day.

my patience with SPN fandom is getting thinner and thinner tbh, you're right on the money re people thinking that they have to do the stage play. The problem is that I've been around since mid S3 and I swear they've been rehashing the same fucking wank since they argued in between Dean girls and Sam girls about who was getting more screentime and who the writers loved more. And the more time it passes the more it feels like the kindergarten stage play y'know, just move the fuck on if you don't like it. I don't get why people seem to think watching this show is a life commitment or something. -_-'

Hi. I'm not really too sure you'll be interested in hearing about it with all the stuff going on, but I finished B99 a few days ago (the first season).

How much trust Jake has in Holt. He asks him to get fired and he just does it.

Everyone trying to impress Ray and Kevin. they make their own humus.

Amy and her perfect teeth off-roading it and dancing.

How much they worry about Terry and his girls.

Secret bathrooms to unwind and wolf blankies.

Rosa trying to help her friends.  Being a leader.

Jake complains a lot about little things but he was there for Charles million % in those last episodes.

I do think that it's easier to notice parallels when you read meta and see all the navel-gazing on tumblr, but the brother war parallels in seasons 4 and 5 became overpowering (and for me ultimately hindered the story, as character growth took a backseat to rehashing which brother had more pain and how many times they needed to be reminded they had nothing but each other). The nadir was Barry Bostwick as the magician yelling about how the guy he killed "WAS LIKE A BROTHER TO [HIM]!!!!"

I probably didn't notice because I was actually invested in the story for once (I wasn't a big fan of seasons 2&3 when they originally aired, either. Actually, I'd given up on the show, then one day after season 4 ended I decided to watch 4x01, loved it, then binge-watched the rest). I DO remember rolling my eyes about Sam's demon blood storyline, though. I used to hate Sam, and I was already bored by that point of the brothers' dynamic, so when Dean was all "If you walk out that door, don't ever come back!" I did not care at all, haha. The bigger things like the Apocalypse happening in the background helped me get through the tough times!
