You cannot do a “reimagining” of Once On This Island. It is set in Haiti and has discussions of racism and colorism amongst other things. You? You’re white. Just do The Little Mermaid especially if you’re claiming you wanna add Norse lore to it. Like that’s literally all you want because Once On This Island is based off a retelling of The Little Mermaid called My Love, My Love (The Peasant Girl) which was written by a Black woman named Rosa Guy. Be so freaking fr. Y’all always try to take our stuff.
