So here’s Pegasus!

PEGASUS

Pegasus is not only blithely callous, he enjoys his own cruelty.  Causing pain helps to soothe his own.

Pegasus is creative, funny and lightly charming; it’s not surprising that children smile when they meet him.

These two things both exist at the same time and in the same person.  Neither is an act.

Cyndia (Cecelia) is more real to him dead than anyone else is, alive.

Pegasus offers an explanation to Yugi but not Kaiba.  This could be because Yugi won the duel.  I prefer to consider the implications of Pegasus limiting his expression of atonement to the person most likely to accept it.
