I wanted to show you guys what inspector gadget sounds like in my language which is Czech :^)!

I found one of the few episodes that are actually dubbed officially and gave it subtitles so it’s understandable for all haha. Also you can spot the difference between the words they use in the original and the ones they use in the translation because I expect it to not be the same so it fits the scenes better.

Anyways they also kept all character names the same so no translation for Gadget or Brain. They translated Chief of course but kept Quimby. Same goes for Penny.

After that scene, which I chose specifically because it includes all four main speaking characters together, i added a few examples of Gadget activating his gadgets. Unlike in the original cartoon, in here he doesn’t have one phrase that he uses (Go Go Gadget…) but it rather changes depending on the specific gadget used? I am not too sure yet I’ll have to watch all of the dubbed episodes haha. There’s a bonus chuckle in the end because I liked how it sounded heh.

In my opinion, Gadget’s voice is okay, I don’t have any problems with it, I like Quimby’s voice, Claw’s voice could’ve been better (more evil or harsh or rougher. I’m not a fan of his laugh here either) and I don’t really like Penny’s voice but it’s tolerable. I should mention that the intro stays the same.

Also there are not many episodes dubbed because the original inspector Gadget didn’t air here in the 80s. It was because my country was under the communist regime which didn’t allow western stuff through. It was dubbed in the 90s and no one I know really knows the cartoon so I suppose it wasn’t a hit haha. Gadget and the Gadgetinis aired here normally and so did the 2015 version as well but no one really watched it from what I understood which is a shame! Sadly I wasn’t able to find any dubbed episodes of GATG but there are a lot if not all episodes of 2015 gadget available. I am not a fan of that version though so I probably won’t spend my time researching it and watching every single episode X^)

Alright, Inspector Gadget fandom, just for fun, tell me a dirty joke that you have encountered while watching the series. Or at least a joke that could very much be harmless but could also be interpreted as dirty/adult. And since I know people are going to say it, I'm not counting the times Gadget was down bad for any lady (and also the times Quimby and Brain crossdressed) or anything that Lana Lamour had uttered out of her fine red lips.

I'll go first, and it's actually one that my Pa found out while we were watching the 80s show on Paramount during our spring break vacation in Albany, New York, and it was in the very third episode of the show, "Gadget at the Circus".

The quote: "It's all a MAD plot to toss me in a zucchini salad!"

And the context is that "tossed salad" is rather old slang (old in the sense that not many people use it anymore) for... How can I say this without laughing my ass off? ("ass" is the hint there-)

But either way, you get the gist. That kind of joke, or anything similar to such. I just needed a list. I'm sure that there's going to be a rare amount if we ignore the times Gadget had been frothing over the mouth over hot women, and anything Lana Lamour (or any other female character MAD had sent to throw Gadget off-) had said, just tell me so I can laugh my ass off from these.
