Since today’s prompt is wedding...

Wouldn't that be cute if we got a Rosegarden proposal scene in the epilogue?

I’m one of those people who don’t expect to see Ruby and Oscar being married and having kids (tho, I won’t lie, I’d die on the spot) at the end of RWBY. I’d be satisfied with a cute proposal. 

Where would it be?

I see: sunset. Definitely. Or sunrise... either one is fine. On Patch, that’s for sure. Oh, and a time skip of course! 3-5 years would be good. A scenery very similar to this one:

Only the two of them of them. It’s a very sweet, important but private moment. 

Who would propose?

Judging by this scene:

Great minds think alike. At first I thought: Oscar. Imagine this cute, awkward, sweet boy trying to propose and Ruby, obviously, not suspecting a thing. Only blushing while her boyfriend tells her how much she means to him. Absolute cuteness overload. But then, I read this post and said: Both is good. Very good.

How would it look like?

I still think Oscar would try to propose first. He’d begin his speech. A bit awkward, but honest and very romantic. Except, Ruby would be getting more and more nervous. Blushing heavily, realizing (once again) how much he means to her. She wants to be with him. I wouldn’t say she knows what he wants to ask her about, but she knows what she wants. And just when Oscar is about to ask this one, final question, she bursts out:

Ruby: WILL YOU MARRY ME?

Oscar: ... What?

Ruby: I-I... I know it’s kinda out of nowher a-and I’m definitely acting SUPER fast... It’s kinda my thing after all, but I-

Oscar: No, Ruby I-

Ruby: But you started saying all those things a-and I just had to... I mean, I never thought abou- I MEAN, I DID, just... I know, maybe I’m rushing things a little... 

Oscar: Ruby, I-I know, but I wan-

Ruby: But I want this! Maybe not now, I MEAN- If you want then sure, why not?! I just... YOU WANTED TO ASKE ME SOMETHING! I-I’m so sorry for that! I just go excited a-and nervous and you said that- I’m rushing it. Aren’t I? I-I’m-

Oscar: I wanted to ask you the same thing!

Ruby: ... Really?

Oscar: Yes, really. I-I mean, I have this ring and- 

Ruby: And I ruined it...

Oscar: WHAT? NO! 

Ruby: I’m so SO SORRY!

Oscar: No, don’t! Listen, I... I did not expect that. I’ll admit. But, like I said, I love everything about you. I love that you sometimes act and speak without thinking. And the fact that you asked me to marry you... I love that. I love y- Are you crying?

Ruby: ... No... No, I-I... 

Oscar: No, please, don’t cry! There’s no reason to cry! I-

Ruby: So... You want me to... Marry you?

Oscar: Y-Yes, I... I mean, I guess your proposal means “yes”?

Ruby: Pffff... Yes. Yes, it means “yes”!

Oscar: That’s a relief...

Ruby: BUT-

Oscar: Hmm?

Ruby: Y-You’re sayng “yes” too, right?

Oscar: ... Yes, yes I do.

And then he puts a ring on her finger. They kiss and hug, looking at the sunrise... Or sunset (◠‿◠)

Day 4: Kidnapped. 

Enjoy the angst.

It took me like five hours, but I did it. A last minute idea for this prompt. 

I decided keep it just sketchy for time, but i’m really happy with the result anyway.
