Rose Tyler...her very name shook the Universe itself.

'That was you, Malekith. You destroyed it.'

Yes...and he would carry that burden to his grave, should ever such a day arrive. Sometimes he wondered. Would there come a day Death finally caught up with him? Or was this, spoke a voice, his own voice, small and fleeting amidst the glaring Northern accent. Was this a work of the Big Bad Wolf?

He remembered The Last Day so clearly. Backed into a corner, facing down a monster who called itself a god (sound familiar?) and then a blinding rush of light and warmth...he'd never seen anything more beautiful. More powerful. All of creation, all of existence in the hands of a nineteen year old girl who risked everything to save her Doctor.

Was it worth it, Rose Tyler? Can you look upon my face and say you made the right choice?

The thought coils around his chest, squeezing so hard it nearly knocks the wind from him. She shouldn't forgive him. Not after everything he's done. He knows that and yet...when he looks into her eyes, sees her standing there just as she did that Last Day...he wants to run to her. To cling to her. To collapse in her arms and bury his guilt grief in the comfort of this powerful, beautiful woman. Would she hold me if I asked? Does she see the Doctor in me, still?

Did he want her to?

He thought he knew what it meant to be a monster, once. Nine hundred years old and so desperate to exterminate a Greater Threat he gambled the price on Life itself; the dice landed with unfavorable odds. He thought himself beyond hope, then--beyond salvation and certainly beyond love.

'You were a damned fool.'

Yes. He was.

NAME: Malekith NICKNAME:  the dark lord, the accursed, my lord, the oncoming storm, Mal, Doc, the Doctor  AGE: Ancient SPECIES: Dark Elf/Gallifreyan

PERSONAL. MORALITY:

 lawful / neutral / chaotic ///  good / neutral / evil 

RELIGIOUS BELIEF:

 Why believe in anything when you essentially made this universe? If that’s the case, he may as well be a god himself...

SINS:  greed / gluttony / sloth / lust / pride / envy / wrath

VIRTUES:

chastity / charity / diligence / humility / kindness / patience / justice

PRIMARY GOALS IN LIFE:

 What goals? If you live past a certain point, life becomes about survival.  (This is verse dependent: in my universes with @canspotatimeagent, @bad-wolf-girl-returned and @goldenacolyte he’s learned to discover what it means to live again and vows never to let go of those he loves, again.)

LANGUAGES KNOWN:

 Midgardian--primarily English, Gallifreyan and the languages of the Dark Elves (which is an offshoot of ancient Gallifreyan.) He learned thousands of languages in his nine-hundred years as the Doctor but most have been either forgotten or remembered only in pieces. 

SECRETS:

Ha. Haha. Hahahahahahaha. Unless you’re someone he trusts, Malekith is a walking secret.

SAVVIES: He’s ruled Svartalfheim for millions of years and acquired many skills from it...above all though, survival and secrecy are the most well-ironed.

PHYSICAL

BUILD: scrawny / bony / slender / fit / athletic / curvy / herculean / pudgy / average HEIGHT: 6′3″ WEIGHT: I can’t guess weight for the life of me SCARS/BIRTHMARKS: Small and faded remnants of battle wounds scattered throughout his body. Depending on when in his timeline I play him half his face will be scarred and burned. ABILITIES/POWERS: I actually wrote up a sheet about this once but I can’t find it... Superhuman strength, endurance and agility--far more than he had as the Doctor. That said, he does still possess his remaining regeneration cycles and (like all Dark Elves in this headcanon) two hearts. Skilled with swords and blasters alike, although prefers the former.  He may or may not wield the aether: this depends on when in his timeline he’s written. RESTRICTIONS: Malekith’s mind is rigid and closed in many ways: he cannot see into the Timestream and has forgotten how to access a Time Lord’s telepathy. He also hears the Doctor inside his head from time to time--a personification of the conscience he’s tried to distance himself from.

FAVORITES FAVORITE FOOD: Fish and chips. From Earth. Oh yeah. FAVORITE DRINK: Tea FAVORITE PIZZA TOPPING: The Accursed Malekith does not eat pizza (but seriously he doesn’t care) FAVORITE COLOR: He’ll say he doesn’t have a favorite but he does prefer darker colors: black, blue and purple, especially. He likes the varying messages darker colors send...but has a soft spot for gold <3 FAVORITE MUSIC GENRE(S): No preference. Truthfully he doesn’t understand most music: it’s all noise. FAVORITE BOOK GENRE(S): Science fiction, oddly enough...and Shakespeare. FAVORITE MOVIE GENRE(S): He doesn’t particularly care for movies. FAVORITE SEASON: Fall. It best reflects the balance of life and death. FAVORITE CURSE WORD: Malekith primarily swears in his own language but he’s got an array of  other insults at the ready. As far as English curse words go, he tends to use ‘damn’ or (depending on his headspace) ‘bloody.’ FAVORITE SCENT(S): So there are two and they’re polar opposites. The first is the sharp, metallic sting in the air preceding battle--a physical representation of the power he radiates and threat he imposes. The second is gentle and varies but almost always smells of comfort, familiar and a sense of security. FUN STUFF.

BOTTOM OR TOP:  Okay so we all know I don’t RP smut but entertaining this for a second-- Malekith doesn’t consciously think about this as he’s not usually a sexual being. How encounters occur depends on the situation, where he is mentally and his partner. By partner I mean Rose and Jack. Because with Malekith, sex is almost exclusively preceded by an emotional buildup. SINGS IN THE SHOWER: Rarely LIKES BAD PUNS: Depends on who said it.

Headcanon meme please

Send a 👫and I’ll write four headcanons I have about our muse’s relationship

1) Rose Tyler is the only being in the universe–in any universe–for whom Malekith crumbles. By that I mean she literally brings him to his knees and makes him feel powerless. I don’t think I need to tell you what an awesome feat that is.

2) Kind of going along with the above she’s also the only one he feels emotionally safe and secure around. With her he can be completely vulnerable…or as vulnerable as the Dark Sovereign Malekith can (no but with time even this will change <3)

3) That said…sometimes he needs reminders she isn’t the same girl he left thousands of years ago. He knows she’s changed by the way she speaks and carries herself - and this is a good thing - but old habits and instincts don’t fade so easily: he’s so afraid of losing her again he may not always trust that physical power she possesses to protect herself. Not yet anyway…

4) While he’s accustomed to being a ‘big spoon’ by nature if you will Malekith prefers being the little one with her <3

Bonus: He actually prefers falling asleep in her arms/with her in his arms~

Dreaming. A simple concept but one the old (Time Lord) hadn’t quite adjusted to, so long had he slept in darkness. With his new face came new changes it seemed (or are they elder ones returned?) He doesn’t like it for his dreams bring him to that which he cannot touch. The past. 

Sometimes he’s in his old body, commanding an army with unyielding terror. Crimson energy whips around him like a cyclone, tearing into his surroundings and bring the universe to his knees. Oh! So close he was to revenge! What a sodding disappointment now it exists only in his subconscious. 

Other times blackness returns, wrapping him in a suffocating womb. There is a difference here than before: he’s aware of the darkness and spends his time wandering–sometimes with direction, sometimes aimlessly. It’s an odd blend of anxiety and soothing comfort, this deafening, blinding nothingness. Like death, or what he’d imagine death to be had he not faced it time and again. 

Sometimes–when the days go sour or even when they don’t–sometimes he’s the Doctor again. The faces alternate: the old and leather-clad or the new and…still leather-clad but with a grungier look, as the term goes. Wearing a stupid smile and bright eyes and running around with that gaudy screwdriver bent on doing who knows what! (What did he do before bloodshed followed like a reptilian shadow?) 

It’s worse when he isn’t alone. He usually is but some days–some days a flash of blond hair or smug laughter echo around the (TARDIS) stirring emotions he’d much rather forget. He hates those the most. Other nights she’s at his side, bickering and showing off but undoubtedly pleased to learn from her father. She isn’t even really his but in his dreams he’s proud to teach her. 

Once in a blue moon, the old voice accompanies him, along with the old face, the big ears and an impatient scowl. ‘What are you doin’?” He’ll ask and Maleith–with his dark hair and grungy leather look–will ask the same. The stupid voice (stupid Doctor) folds his arms. ‘You won’t listen t’me when you’re up, figure I’d try here.” “You’re wasting your time.” Malekith growls back and so they embark upon a game of verbal ping pong as Midgard calls it until they fall into shouting or prickling silence. Another phrase will come to mind–came to mind now–and he sighed: no rest for the wicked. Waking or asleep.
