This piece is about the proprioception and damage to the cerebellum with which it is functionally associated with. 

Essentially, proprioception allows us to know where each body part is related to the rest of the body. It is the sensation of the body itself. A simple example of this sense would be when you reach out with your hand to take something without looking.

Reading "The Man Who Mistook His Wife For a Hat" I found out about many interesting neurological cases and many of them hit me hard emotionally, such as the case of Jimmy G. with Korsakoff's syndrome which inhibited him from forming new memories.

The inspiration for this piece was from one of those cases which was about Christina "The Disembodied Lady" who lacked any sense of proprioception, hence the empty figure. Originally, these are two drawings edited to fit one.
