I don't know what possessed me to use watercolors, markers, pencils and paint on black paper to create this, but somehow things turned out pretty amazing if I say so myself haha

Rossiu x Reader (Oneshot, angst, GN)

Warnings: Angst, no comfort, out of character probably

(This is my first time posting so I’m sorry if it’s not the greatest, but I got tired of the lack of gurren lagann content out here and had to step in)

“Tch, at this rate we’ll reach one million in about a year” Rossiu clenched his head in his hands. He can’t catch a break. Where Simon’s probably, dancing around and playing happy jolly, he’s forced to deal with the numbers, it’s like their supreme command doesn’t even care!

He sighs, handing off the papers to Guimble “Alright. Ready some troupes in case they try to go back underground, tell them to send a report incase anything arises” Rossiu walked away with nod, entering the elevator back to the surface. Why do they even resist? Why would they ever want to go back underground, it only proves how few smart people there are. Including-

“Hello commander Rossiu, fine evening isn’t it?” (Y/n) smiled politely, entering the elevator and noting that the top floor button was already pressed. “You know Rossiu is just fine, especially when no one’s around” He returned a half smile of his own.

“That would be inappropriate, sir” They teased back. “I just got back from some field research west of New Kamina city, a few beast men causing a ruckus, just wanted to relay to the heads” They offered up the folder to him. Rossiu grabbed it, lingering his touch for just a moment. (Y/n) pulled away. He opened the folder, it held nothing really of note, might be useful if they decided to expand more.

“Can’t believe I’ve gone from punching em to trying to negotiating land disputes.” (Y/n) slumps, the doors opening to the top where they walk down the hallway. “You too, you don’t even control a gunman anymore, always stuck in a pile of paper” “I don’t mind being in a pile of paper, it’s important work that’s keeping the human race safe.” “Yknow what I mean, it’s not as hands on as the past”. Rossiu shakes his head, opening the door to his personal working quarters. “Come, Simon’s having a meeting with Legal Affairs Bureau, you can wait in here with me” as they entered he pulled out a seat for them, moving across to sit at his desk. They sat in a, somewhat, comfortable silence.

“You know, if you don’t like all the busy work, you don’t have to do it” the second in command rested his chin in his palm, staring up at the person across from him. “My offers still on the table, I can provide for you-“ “You know better then anyone I don’t want to just stay home” (Y/n) sighed, looking away from the man. “I’ve told you this plenty of times now Rossiu, and I don’t see why you keep asking me either”.

Rossiu face tightened at the comment “How could I not. You complain about your new work all the time. You wouldn’t have to worry a day about, paper work or, stupid request, I can make it happen-“ “That wouldn’t solve the issue, that would just delay it at best.” “I’m trying to reason with you (Y/n). We’re in a time peace never before why can’t you accept my confession-“ “Because It’s unfair to you more than it is to me, Rossiu” (Y/n) slammed they’re fist down to stop him from talking, before tapping their fingers against the table anxiously.

“I don’t, love you, like you do me Rossiu, that won’t change by you taking care of me like this, you know that right?” (Y/n) finally turns back to look at him. “I did, at one point, but…not now, and I don’t think I can go back to loving you” They stood up from their chair, the sound of it scratching against the floor felt better on Rossius ears. “We want different things, and that’s fine. So please don’t keep force yourself into thinking I’m the only one you could love, you’re a good man with-“ “I don’t want to love someone else!” Angrily Rossiu slams his hands on the table, keeping eye contact as he spoke. “I-, Once earth is fully safe I can change! I can go back to the boy you liked! (Y/n) we’re the same person him and I, if you loved him you can learn to love me again” He reached out a hand, desperation dripping from his face.

“You shouldn’t have to change for me! We shouldn’t have to tie down one another, there isn’t any love at that point!”

He knew this would happen eventually, he knew he was selfish to think like this, but this world, full of terrible monsters and sometimes worse people, has taught him that selfishness is needed to keep those important safe. To keep them close. He’s the reason they didn’t man a gunman, why they weren’t allowed to work on the battle field. He was selfish and wanted them safe, but in the end, that greed has only pushed them farther.

Rossiu gently placed his hand on their wrist, one last plead to reconsider, but like before, they pulled back, they took a few steps away, looking down at the floor. Their grimace, still as shinning as their smile in his eyes. “Second in Command Rossiu, thank you for having me, but I think it’s best we keep our relationship more professional, moving forward.”

Hero Form Appearance: A combination of an intergalactic hero’s outfit and YuYuYu’s Hero Form outfits. The undersuit of the outfit is a jet black color to help the lighter colors stand out, and the main outfit is indeed white, but it becomes a royal blue when you make your way towards the lower half of the sleeves, the lower half of the pants, and the tailcoat. Accent colors include gold, black, gray, silver, orange, cream, and bright yellow. The boots, shoulder pads, and the gloves all have patterns of daffodils on them, and the only other accessory is a hair tie with a white daffodil on it. The flower’s petal shape can be seen in the tailcoat and collar.

Bio: Rossiu Adai is one of the characters of the anime and manga series, Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann. A boy from another underground village, Adai, in which the people worship the Gunmen as gods. A modest but intelligent person, he's often seen looking after the young Gimmy and Darry. When the twins are chosen to leave the village, he decides to go with them, thus the trio joins Team Gurren.
