Demo link and other such information
Figured I may as well post the links to everything here, instead of just in the description.
You can find the demo to the game here. There is about 15k words in the demo at the moment, but that is rapidly increasing as I rewrite the prologue and continue to expand upon what is already there.
If you want, you can go to the forum page of the game, otherwise I will reiterate here what is already there.
It is heavily based on character choice, I will attempt not to force too many ‘good’ or ‘bad’ decisions on the player as I believe that can take the fun out of interactive fiction. Players can be a warrior, rogue, mage, or archer, though these initial choices do not necessarily lock them out of using such skills in the future, it merely determines starting skill levels and what players preferred weapons and skills are-which can be brought up by other characters in the game.
Throughout the story, players will be able to ally themselves with three different factions, or completely disregard that and go off on their own, either creating more enemies for themselves or choosing not to burn bridges. There will always be the choice to be a villain. That was my entire plan to begin with, however, if you wish to redeem yourself, that will also be an option.
There are a few love interests throughout the story, and you can choose whether or not you wish to go down that road, it isn’t necessary for a full gameplay experience, it is merely there for those that wish to pursue it. Currently, the love interests that I feel comfortable releasing without spoiling anything too major are as follows:
Spotter: Your constantly-dishevelled young apprentice who sees the good in everyone, and even appears to believe that you, ultimately, mean well. They appear outwardly naive, but is that who they really are, or is it just an act?
Herron: An aspiring necromancer who doubles as a healer and mother hen. You’re not really sure why he came to be allied with you, but his magic is strong and so long as you give him the resources he asks-which isn’t much-he seems content to do your bidding.
Severa: A foreign warlord with a love of the curse word and seems to have appointed herself as the interrogator and warden of your dungeons. She’s violent and sadistic, and has made it quite clear that if at any point you seem to loosing your hold over the masses of Hadaria, she will not hesitate to slit your throat as you sleep and take your place.
So that’s all for now, you no longer need to look over at the forum page, and can just find this if you need any links. As I am tired, I probably neglected to clarify anything, so if you need me to answer any questions, just feel free to ask.
