Trevor Powers, or Youth Lagoon, has proven himself a brilliant artist over his past three albums. You never know what to expect from the artist, who seems to take on a fresh new sound with each full length he drops. Though The Year Of Hibernation, his debut, will always be my favorite with its wispy lo-fi introspection, recent album Savage Hills Ballroom was a spectacular work of music art, too. Now that Youth Lagoon has unveiled a stunning music video to accompany Savage Hills Ballroom song Rotten Human, there’s no avoiding the necessity of revisiting the song. Rotten Human is magnificent, a theatrical serenade and a rhapsodic journey of self reflection.
