One of two epilogues! Back in the lair after the fact, and here we have a couple of bros up past their bedtime...
I went back to a sketchy style for this one because I think it works well for an epilogue aesthetic. I think it makes for more raw emotions sometimes to do it this way. Hope you like it!
A little collab-tribute that @eternalglitch and I created together to commemorate the day that we uploaded essentially the same climax scene in both of our respective fan creations. Glitch did the LFLS side, I did the BnB side plus this little animation. I’m very proud of the fact that I was able to find the exact sound effect for the collar from the show!

Folks are over-using the term “AU”
I’ve added the “Canon Compliant” tag to all of my comics on ao3, because I’ve noticed a strange amount of people calling “The Brains and The Brawn” an “AU” or “Alternate Universe”, when... it’s not...?
An “Alternate Universe” story takes place in a universe completely different from the canon - think Fantasy AUs, High School AUs, or fics using the same characters as canon but a plot from a different story (which could lead into “crossovers”, but I digress).
Yet I see folks misuse this term for LOTS of fics or comics, and as someone who prides themselves in trying to get their comics as close to canon as possible, it admittedly makes me feel like I’m failing a bit at that if people are calling my comics “alternate universes” since I usually intend them to slot somewhere into the canon storyline.
I would call the main comics I’ve created so far to be “Canon Compliant” which are stories with the same characters, setting, and plot, and no big changes to the canon (examples are missing scene fics, fics based on canon character backstories (think “turtle tots”), or other general fics meant to be seen as an “episode” of the show).
There’s also “Canon Divergent” or “Universe Alteration” which are stories with the same characters, same setting, and same plot up until the plot diverges from a specific point in the canon and things after that point are altered (plot may or may not swing back around to fit back into the canon) (examples: LFLS, what if x character lived/died after a certain point, what if a certain battle was lost/won? etc.) I point out “Like Father, Like Son” here because while it is not my story, @eternalglitch has stated on numerous occasions that it is a “Universe Alteration”. It’s the same universe, not an alternate one. Some events just changed the plot in a major way. The events altered the universe, not the other way around.
So anyway, that’s my little TED talk for the day; just letting folks get to know their tags and fan stories better. I’m also trying to be clearer with my tags and how I present my stories so folks get a better understanding for them.

Uploading the “Flatline” chapter of LFLS and BnB on the same day was planned!
...And we’d been planning it for over 2 years!
Back when “Like Father Like Son” and “The Brains and the Brawn” were just starting out, both @eternalglitch and I (Jade) were in a discord server together and talked about our respective ideas, though usually in very unspecific and spoiler-free ways. We didn’t want to spoiler anything to each other, or to anyone else in the server.
At one point I noticed a similarity that could potentially occur in both the stories, so I approached Glitch in the DMs with a question:
So we left it at that for about a month. But after one particular conversation in the shared server, we had to take it to the DMs again, because we realized something...
At this point we still didn’t wanna fully come out with the spoiler, buuuut that ended up happening and we realize, that our stories were indeed headed to the same point:
After a little more laughing at ourselves and the odd coincidence of our shared tastes in angst and writing, another thought occurred to us:
And, of course, we did!
What’s also funny is that for a bit after we figured this out, our Discord statuses were this:
Glitch even sent a concept sketch shortly after that for what would become our recent collab artwork:
So yeah, us having the same idea was a funny coincidence, but us planning to drop both chapters at the same time was not!

So I’ve started working on a little comic again...
AHHH TBATB! Just binged it! The Purple Dragons are probably lucky Savage Raph did not stay long, could probably tank a shocks just a little better/longer through sheer willpower. Can't wait for the epilogue!

Actually, I think Raph is lucky Savage Raph didn't stay long.
He was close to breaking the computer quiz monitor in that state. And, as we saw all the way back on page 4, breaking the monitor counts the question as "incorrect". If he did that, that would be the third "incorrect" question. He would have "failed" and the shock devices would've killed him then and there with no Donnie around to help him...
About TBATB - those have to be some of the most earned hugs in ROTTMNT fandom history, good lord- thank you for ripping my heart from my chest, shattering it, throwing it in a blender and then gently putting it back together and giving it back /hj
Hnnnggghhhh! YES! That was my intention! I love my hugs and fluff, but I find them all the more sweeter and "earned" after a bunch of angst haha! I'm so glad you like it and loved experiencing it!
Honestly, even from my perspective, it's so nice to finally post that page, cuz I think WE ALL needed some hugs!
