This one line teared me up so I had to draw it... The whole scene was just so beautiful and heartfelt...
The crew really knew what they were doing

"Hey, Big Guy"---This is based on my favorite shot of Leo from the ROTTMNT finale, he was just so cool. I obviously went a little crazy with the lighting, but that was the most fun part. Drawn to this song:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Uqn_RiH41Y
Thank you Rise of TMNT for the greatest cartoon finale I have ever seen
I don’t have much content to put out following the final episodes of Rise, but I really wanted to put my feelings somewhere.
The show found me in a time where I had made the decision that my life genuinely wasn’t worth continuing.
I remember crying alone at 2AM on the floor in my basement last year. I was scrolling through Twitter to try and distract myself and I saw an artist raving about what a wonderful show Rise of the TMNT was. I started watching for fun because I always found that creative art and animation made my brain super happy. I really needed happy. I needed something.
As I watched and fell in love with it, it became a huge coping mechanism. The characters, the lessons, the core values of the show. The anticipation of waiting for each new episode helped me so much.
Especially the family values. God. The family values.
I won’t go too in-depth, but I don’t know what it’s like to have those. To actually have a family.
I’ve lived so vicariously through this show. The boys felt like my own brothers. Big goofy brothers who loved and protected eachother unconditionally. Splinter giving Peptalks to April and Casey filled my heart like it was something a father would say to me. Mikey just wishing his parents would get along... and they did.
With the above stated, my tears have been non-stop since the finale, and they’re still going right now.
I’ve met so many amazing people, and have moved to a much better place in my life all thanks to this cartoon.
I’m afraid to move forward. I’m afraid of what the future holds for me, but I’m going to try to keep my head up knowing that I’m not alone in this.
