Roundguard arrives on Nintendo Switch on March 13th

Roundguard is a bouncy dungeon crawler with pinball physics, lots of loot, and a randomized castle full of oddballs. Press your luck against hordes of dangerously cute monsters and challenging roguelike elements in this all-round bouncy adventure!

What is Roundguard?

The oldest game on the poll this time around (Niche Games Vol. 4), Roundguard released in 2020 (every other game on that poll released in 2025) and has been on my radar for a while. Bought it back in 2023 but I never got around to playing it until 2025.

This is a roguelike spin on Peggle predates the more well known take on the idea: Peglin. Unlike those Peggle goblins, this game does not take the deckbuilder route where your deck gives you multiple shots. Instead, you choose between four playable characters that each have exclusive skills and equipment. Your character is the ball; other than aiming the initial shot the skills you have/obtain can redirect where you fall.

The game is available on Steam, iOS/Android, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
