Chase's father is absolutely bonkers. He went to New Jersey just to see Wilson because he wanted to know how much time he left to live and visiting Chase was just a side quest. He denies the deadbeat dad allegations then just leaves to go die. When Chase finally opens up he shuts him down just cause it's too last minute for him, THEN HE CUTS CHASE OUT OF HIS FUCKING WILL, HE JUST TERRORIZES CHASE, GIVES HIM A HUG, AND THEN GOES TO DIE. "I left your mother.. I didn't leave you." LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE, LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE.

maybe i’m crazy but i think the reasons that chase is fatphobic is

1. his mother drank herself to death (i.e self-inflicted harm), so he views that morbidly obese people put themselves in their position.

2. chase had an ed at one point. when his mom was dying and his father was gone, he was so focused on everything else that eating wasn’t a priority anymore. when his mom died, he was alone. he didn’t want what happened to his mom happen to him—being young and naive with no parental figure in his life or anybody to guide him, he figured that eating would be the cause of his death too. he’d eat small portions just to survive the rest of his teenage years until he began university, when he began taking his health seriously as a med student. he still has some of his own irrational beliefs about heavier people, most of which stem from his teenage years, and obviously it being the 2000s.

maybe i’m just slightly self projecting. anyways i do want a choreman or just a chase fic where the ducklings + house discover why chase is so so against overweight people (medical files, chase admitting it one late night in a tipsy manner, something…) um yeah

When they're heading towards the car Chase takes the suitcase from Rowan to carry it saying "I got it"... Like it could be a metaphor of the way Chase had to carry and support the whole family after Rowan left his mom

And they finally hug. Their last hug. When House is interrogating Chase about why doesn't he want Rowan in his life anymore Chase says "I've given him enough hugs. He's given me enough dissapointments" but there were not even close to enough hugs... And this last one couldn't cover all of the lacking but it was something. It was important.
