Do you think "Full Reveal Summer 2024" means we won't get ANY new info on DA:D next summer?
hello! they did mention that they would have some things to share "as we approach summer 2024", so in the run up to it (late spring? spring?). but other than a few things in the run up, it sounds like there won't be any new info of note until summer 2024, at which point the plan as it currently stands is to show gameplay, new trailers and announce the release date. based on what was said today, I think DA:D will not be at TGA, will be quiet for a while now, and I would speculate at a late 2024 release date (November 2024 maybe? that's the 10 year anniversary of DA:I) currently being aimed for. meaning a shorter marketing cycle, which seems to be an industry pattern lately. [speculation only ^^;]
I LOVED chapter 7, it was definitely worth the wait :) during the fight with Alcyoneus, did MC barrow some of Hades' power by linking their magic? After chapter 7 will MC get a chance tell the gang they dont want to leave the Underworld?
Your questions will be answered in Chapter Eight, but I will post your hypotheses here for posterity. I will say, those are some interesting guesses you have. :)
I have a LOT questions about MCs family now. What was their fathers name, and was he a good parent while he was alive? Andromeda was a shitty mom to MC, bit what about orion? Did she present a different persona to public e.g. being charming/diplomatic/etc when she was at court and being cold and derisive at home? Also, did the staff at the navis manor (or wherever live) notice her behaviour towards MC?
The Villain's father's name was Perseus Orion Navis, and yes, he was an excellent father. He loved Orion and the Villain with every part of his being, and more importantly, he was willing to die for them.
Which is exactly how he died.
Andromeda on the other hand, is a complicated character. She loved Orion and spoiled him with affection, and when pregnant with the Villain she was looking forward to their birth. Then the Villain was born.
Everything changed.
Andromeda is charming, calculating and oh so very cold, for she had the weight of the world on her shoulder. She loved Orion until her death, but their relationship turned colder after the Villain's birth because Orion adored their little sibling and she couldn't understand why.
Mentions of abuse under the cut:
You see, Andromeda was afraid of her youngest child. Afraid of the power they possessed. Needless to say, that fear bread contempt, and that contempt breed hate. So Andromeda was well liked amidst their peers, and kind to her husband and older child, but her interactions with the Villain were different. She was never physically abusive, but she didn't need to be because emotional abuse and neglect are equally damaging.
The staff knew. In fact, while the staff on the Navis Manor didn't necessarily mistreat the Villain, but they were not kind to them either. They tended to ignore and neglect them if they were alone, but pretended otherwise in front of guests.
The Villain was VERY socially isolated as a kid.
Needless to say, all the old staff in the Navis Manor was fired once Andromeda died.

Did the incident in vodena happen before or after the orders collapse??
Before. A rough timeline of recent Wayfarer-related events (or at least one’s important to the characters; if you’re looking closely at the existing codex entries, I need to adjust some dates since I changed a few things):
1232 - A group of Wayfarers are involved in a failed coup at the Arathian Empire’s capital, Erenvor. The Wayfarers are executed and the Order is banned from Imperial territory.
1234 - The MC and Aeran are discovered by Rindan Cenric and taken to the Spire to begin their training.
1242 - The MC and Aeran complete their training and are initiated into the Order. As part of their initiation ceremony, they are gifted their Alassar weapons, which were previously held by Wayfarers who were killed in their line of work.
1243 - 1246 - The Arathian Empire annexes Artanis, the country where the Spire is located.
1243 - Aeran stops a mage serial killer in Vodena, one of his first major accomplishments as a Wayfarer.
1245-1247 - Aeran falls in with a contingent of Corsida Brighblades and works alongside their leader for some time. After he parts ways with them, he returns to the Spire.
1246 - Brissa Varyn negotiates with Emperor Ariston ard Nesarian to allow Wayfarers to pass through Imperial territory unhindered.
1247 - The Spire is attacked by a militia from Trost, the nearest village to the citadel. Many Wayfarers are killed, but the citadel is broken. Aeran and a handful of others survive. Cenric, Sero and Varyn also survive, but their current whereabouts are unknown.
1248 - The MC and Aeran encounter each other in the Osian desert in Sathir. They begin travelling and working together.
