“Mareep! Mareep, come back here!”
The timid electric-type shook uncontrollably in her place, her Prince’s commands deaf to her as she coward before the massive pokemon turning to face who had dared send a wave of paralyzing shock through its tail. A rough-looking Tyranitar lifts its head from the trees, growling in its throat at it leered down at the pathetic little group below it.
Fennekin sprang up to stand between Mareep and the rock-type. His hackles raised and embers sparked from his teeth. “Now you’ve done it! Go back to Prince, I’ll hold him--” He flinched as the wild pokemon let out a mighty ROAR, a squeal and a thunk from behind Fennekin could tell him that Mareep had either collapse out of fear, or she was on the ground, hiding her face as if it would do any good. Dumb thing, the vulpine growled.
Prince had his hands cupped to block out the Tyranitar’s cry, but he made no move to run. They weren’t any real threat, couldn’t it see that? He peered up at the angered pokemon, and froze. Its gaze wasn’t on the smaller pokemon nearest to it, it was glaring piercing daggers into him.
“Fennekin...Mareep...come back to me now!” his voice was quieter, though firm. Fennekin seemed to have gotten the message and was backing away, gently nudging Mareep back with his tail while he kept his eyes forward. Prince’s gaze darted between his pokemon and the one threatening him with a stare.
Then, he could see sparks of energy flicker on its tongue. It was rearing its head back--
As he shouts, he’s digging in his satchel for their pokeballs, but he can not stand still as the Tyranitar’s HYPERBEAM shoots at the ground where he once stood. Mareep and Fennekin were already retreating in the brush after the fire-type nipped at the other’s legs to get her moving. Prince wasn’t far behind, and neither was the Tyranitar.
