Clara Montgomery -- Accepted!
OOC. Your name: Hope Your age: 17 Best way to contact you: http://calzonahearts.tumblr.com (message me here!) Timezone: Central Time How many years roleplaying: Since last year! Previous roleplay accounts (if any): Not at the moment! I took a break from roleplaying, and I'm now this year getting back into it. Activity level (out of 10): 8/10
IC. Desired character: Lola Bronski Second choice: Clara Montgomery Bio changes or additions: If I were to be accepted as my second choice as Gertrude, I wouldn't mind getting alternate name suggestions from the admins. But apart from that, I'm completely happy about both choices. A sample of your writing (250 words minimum, third person, and as the character you are auditioning for):
It was almost night time. To Lola, this meant she would be heading out to Valentine's with only one thing on mind. Apart from the giggle water and the entertainment, Valentine's was the only place Vincent Valentine would be tonight. The other day, Vincent had walked over to her and even tried to flirt with her. She played it off coolly. Lola knew she could drive a man insane if she chose. Maybe she wouldn’t this time. Not with Valentine. If there was anything she had learned when she was younger, money was everything. As she fixed her hair into an up-do, she couldn't help imagining how elegant she would look with Vincent Valentine's arm in her. People would stare at her even more than they did now. Lola took a step back from the mirror and admired her reflection. Her skirt was flared at her hip and ended just above her knees. Knee-length skirts were of fashion these days. She of course chosen the skirt she would wear tonight from a variety of choices. When she made the trip from Newark, she definitely did not leave empty-handed.
Money was indeed everything. Money meant luxury. It was how she had survived her childhood happily with no care in the world. It was how she could have all the pretty things a girl could need. What else did she need? Perhaps Vincent Valentine. Then again, tonight, all Vincent was going to realize was how much he needed her. Lola would make sure of it. Lola walked over to the side of her bed, pulled on her fur-trimmed coat, and looked back in the mirror. "Lola Valentine," she said softly as if the name had already been given to her. She said the words without a quiver in her voice. The plan was to meet up with friends at the club. Valentine or not, Lola knew she would enjoy herself because she was what they called the life of the party. She left the hotel room, a purse in hand. As she left the hotel doors, the hotel manager greeted her by name. “Miss. Lola Bronski, off to Valentine’s I suppose?” he asked. “I hear it’ll be the cat’s meow tonight,” she replied, flashing him a smile. Lola Bronski knew exactly where she was going.
One or two reasons why you want this(these) character(s):
Writing this para made me realize how much I think I'd love playing the character. She's not the typical queen bee as I come to realize from reading the biography. I don't normally portray characters like her. Usually my characters are the down-to-earth type, so this would a good experience if I do get the chance to rp as her.
Any questions?: Nope! Anything else?: Nothing at all!

Desired character: Vincent Valentine Second choice: Lola Bronski Bio changes or additions: None. A sample of your writing (250 words minimum, third person, and as the character you are auditioning for) A moment to admire his success.
The titter of satin-clad ladies as they weaved through the crowd, a sheen of colour dancing in the placid lighting.
The guffaw and smooth chatter of men as they set up shop at a conveniently placed table, keen eyes scouring the selection of flawless skirts and deliberating their next choice in conversation, or hand to play against the other.
Mood and music painted this pretty picture at Valentine's, with the finest of brushes and an artist's masterful hand. It was a flurry of bodies dressed to the nines-- a symphony of clinking tumblers and cubes of ice rattling in their glass confines, top-dollar alcohol their watery grave. All against a background of appropriate architecture and live jazz that soothed the wary soul. It had everyone settled into their seats or otherwise relaxed, drumming their fingers to the sound. The occasional declaration of victory as a man robbed another of their winnings pierced the air and garnered glances from the collection of people that populated the vicinity.
The jazz played on, the musicians uninterrupted by the intermittent ruckus the games had inspired. They were accustom to the noise by now, and even enjoyed it.
Vincent Valentine-- money dressed him in the sharpest suit and power fortified his confidence-- had been nestled into a glorified seat of the best comfort money could buy, cradling a flute of champagne in one hand, while the other perched on a raised thigh, one leg crossed over the other. He was the picture of sophistication; one that promised a life of hell dogging your footsteps should you shatter what small smile he had gracing his features. A quiet aggression loomed behind that mask he'd fashioned to lure in your trust.
Though there was no ill will polluting Vincent's intentions this night. Instead, he relished in the idle palaver and merriment that hung in the atmosphere, even tapping a finger against his thigh in time with the beat of the music. He paused only for a sip of his champagne, analysing the throng of people that found solace or mirth in the alcohol he promised and the music that spoke without words.
His glass lowered, and a hint of amusement tugged at the corner of his mouth, and subsequently manifested as a smirk, hardly paying any mind to another round of vocalised disapproval blaring from the poker table just short of his alcove.
There was nothing like the sight of a business, raised from the ground by an iron fist, drowning in attention. He reveled in his work as an artist would their filled canvas.

One or two reasons why you want this(these) character(s) I absolutely adore mob boss characters. The power, the violence, the underhanded deception that frequents mob/gangster storylines appeals to me greatly. The way their leaders command attention through fear and promise of something worse than death, the confidence they possess because they know they're all that-- they're some of my favourite kind of characters, particularly if they're indiscriminate with their hostility. I suppose I'm a little bored with nice and good characters and wanna see a little bad.
Another plus: Mads Mikkelsen, in my opinion, is the perfect face claim for this kind of character. Every role he plays seems to be the kind of guy that smiles while he threatens you, or has that underlying virulence in his tone that puts you on edge. I've always loved that about him.
Any questions?: Are we permitted to add little headcanons or factoids about our characters? Nothing that has a major affect on their biography or anything, just little things. Anything else?: Nope!
Gaia thing audition
John Watson slowly climbed up the stairs of 221B Baker Street, tired from a long day at the surgery. He really wasn't looking forward to having to deal with Sherlock the rest of the evening. He just wanted to run a bath and read a good book, before heading to bed. He was never that lucky, though, his life was a roller coaster that was never quite steady, he was always in for a bumpy, yet exiting, ride. It was too quiet when he opened the door to the flat he shared with his best friend. The lights were on, but no one appeared to be home. "Sherlock?" John called out, gazing around. There was a soft creaking of the floor to his left, at the end of the hallway, behind the door he'd hardly ever seen closed. Sherlock wasn't one for closing doors. Or doing the dishes. Or doing anything else one would expect a man of his age to be capable of. "Are you in?" He slowly made his way to the closed door, avoiding the creaking floorboard halfway the hallway, cursing under his breath that he didn't have his gun on hand. What was it this time? Just the wind? A burglar? Or another master criminal who'd broken into the house to leave Sherlock a little present? He would have been prepared for any of those things, any at all. What he hadn't been prepared for was what he found when he opened the door. Sherlock Holmes, in his bed, neatly tugged in.. Fast asleep. "For god's sake.." He mumbled softly, making his way over to his friend. He couldn't help the tiny smile that spread over his face. This certainly was an unfamiliar, yet not unpleasant, sight. "You got me worried there for a moment. Turn off the lights next time, will you?" John made sure not to talk too loud, he didn't want to risk waking up the consultant detective. Instead he reached out and brushed a lock of hair out of the man's face, before leaving the room again. He wouldn't be waking Sherlock Holmes when he was finally asleep, the peace and quiet would be disturbed on its own soon enough again. For now he'd just enjoy it.
Vera Wallace -- Accepted!
OOC. Your name: Liv Your age: 19 Best way to contact you: Probably my personal or another rp blog, either anitapisani or thedawncarter but I am usually good at logging in every day so yeah! Timezone: PST How many years roleplaying: 2 on tumblr Previous roleplay accounts (if any): Well I'm still active on them and I have a LOT but I'll just go with anitapisani, thedawncarter, and themarcodaniels Activity level (out of 10): 8 IC. Desired character: Vera Wallace Second choice: Lola Bronski? I noticed that she's wanted but isn't up but I'm down Bio changes or additions: Nope! A sample of your writing (250 words minimum, third person, and as the character you are auditioning for): The music was blaring loudly throughout the club. Both of the Montgomerys were on stage, singing and playing their little hearts out over the sound of the horns and drums. Girls were already dancing around for the first john that turned their way but not Vera. Well, not yet at least.
No, she kept pacing around the perimeter of the club with her red stained lips pulled up at the corners but her eyes downcast as she carried her tray of drinks to her next costumers. The night was still too young for her to settle on just one man yet. Besides, it wasn’t that easy to just pick any old one out. They had to be just right.
Their eyes had to linger on her for just a second too long. Their tongue had to wet their lips twice but their fingers were still clenched tightly to their glass. Their head had to sway side to side, just as her hips did when she walked away. The final test though? Vera had to make sure she could see their wallet poking out from some pocket. It didn’t matter if it was their slacks or their coat. As long as she could get it easily once she was dancing and sitting on their lap.
Gertrude was beginning some lead into her next song when Vera finally settled on her poor sap for the night. Her eyes roamed over him at a well-practiced, deliberately slow pace before she gave him a coy smirk. Vera was pivoting on her heels, ready to strut over to her customer for the night when she felt someone grab onto her arm.
“Hold it, doll,” Vera had to fight the urge to roll her eyes at the voice of one of the keeps. “Other side of the room, second table from the stage. Go,” With an indignant flip of her head, Vera cast the man a dirty look before doing as she was told. She may have missed out on her chance to line her purse with a little extra cash tonight but, if there was one thing she had learned at Valentine’s it was that opportunities landed in one’s lap all the time. You just had to seize it.

One or two reasons why you want this(these) character(s): I've been wanting to play an Emma Stone character for a while and I also really enjoy the 20's. Plus she seems like a interesting archetype that I haven't played in a few years.
Any questions?: Nope Anything else?: Nope

[Stephanie Brown audition] [FC: Emily Osment] [Sophmore] It'd had been a while since Stephanie had donned her Spoiler suit. A few weeks ago to the best of her memory. Since her mom started working day shifts instead of night it was harder to sneak out. It also didn't help that her teachers had been giving her mega loads of homework which Stephanie grumbled through. Gotham was a busy place. Thugs and criminals were out every night so she probably didn't miss much.Of course, she hoped she wasn't going to be rusty from not kicking bad guy booty for a few weeks but she figured she could still come up with the same witty jokes to make up for what she lacked in preparedness. She aimed her grapple gun up so that it wrapped around a pole and allowed her to swing to the nest building. She looked at her watch to check the time as she did so. It told her that it was four-thirty am which gave her plenty of time to swing back home and get a couple hours of sleep before school started. Stephanie thought about how her day at school would go but a shrill scream broke her train of thought. Below her, there was two men crowding a woman until she was backed into the corner of two buildings. She screamed and raised to hit the attacker closest to her. As the woman's fist connected with the man's jaw he grunted and held a hand to his injured face. "Oh, now you're really gonna get it, lady!" As he started to raise a hand to the woman, Stephanie swooped down and blocked the stack with her own arm. "That's really the best you could come up with? 'Now you're really gonna get it'? Like, c'mon. You could have up with something so much better!" Stephanie joked. "This is none of your business, costumed freak." He reached for the gun at his side and she dropped drown to kick his feet from under him and disrupting his balance. She stomps her foot onto his hand which held the gun and twists it. "Nu-uh! No weapons. A girl can't have a fair fight?" "You just going to let this freak beat me like this? Forget about the other one." The second man turned his attention to Stephanie and pulled onto her cape to yank her backwards. She turned and sent a kick to the middle of his chest as he did so then swung a fist to his nose. He dropped to the ground when she did. She glanced to her right to see the lady running down the streets then returned to the first attacker. "One down, one to go." She kicked the gun out of the man's hand as he pointed it at her to which he replied by sending a fist to her stomach. Stephanie groaned and blocked his next assault. She hit him across his cheek with her own fist then kicked up at his side. He dropped to his knees and then fully on the ground as he held his side. It took her a few minutes to handcuff the two to a light post so the cops could pick them up later that morning. Stephanie-using her grapple gun swung up into the air and hoped she could make her way back to her house before the sun rose. She had to sneak into her bedroom window to get inside so she didn't wake her mother. She slipped out of her Spoiler suit and hide it carefully in the back of her closet where her mother wouldn't find it then checked her body for bruises in her full length mirror. She had a bruise on her stomach from where she had been hit but was otherwise okay. Stephanie yawned while she slipped into pjs then crawled into bed where she fell soundly asleep. It seemed like only a short time had past before her mother was gently shaking her arm trying to wake her. "Stephanie, wake up. You don't want to be late." Stephanie groaned and buried her head under her pillow. "I made your favorite waffles for breakfast." "For real?" "Mmhmm." "Fine, gimme a few minutes." Her mother patted her daughter's back then stepped out of the room. Stephanie tiredly got out of bed and walked to her drawer to pull out a change of clothes. After changing and brushing her back into a simple ponytail, Stephanie made her way down the stairs to the kitchen. The scent of waffles and syrup seeming to wake her up more as she say down onto a seat at the table. "Eat up so you won't get too hungry during your classes." During bites Stephanie nodded and mumbled okays and thanks to her mother. She quickly downed a glass of milk then put her dirty dishes into the sink. Before she could get to the door to leave, her mother stopped her and handed her a lunch bag. "Here's your lunch. If you have any trouble you know I'm a phone call away, Stephanie." "Mmhm, I know mom. Don't worry so much. And thanks for breakfast. It was awesome but now I gotta go before I'm late." Stephanie hugged her mother goodbye then planted a kiss onto her cheek before grabbing her book bag and heading off to school.
