Fun Marvel blogs to RP (or just make friends- we talk ooc a lot)

As I have noticed a large number of my following are roleplayers...

reminder:

Don’t repost someone elses art without permission Don’t use their art as theme assets without asking for their permission . Don’t use their art for icons without asking for permission.

It is one thing to use official art from something like Square Enix/Disney where they get tons and tons of money, and everyone automatically recognizes the material than from a fan artist that will be more difficult to find when you edit their art.

When you repost without their permission almost no one will look for the artist so that they get the attention instead of you.

Reblog or ASK for permission before using or posting art you didn’t make yourself. 

Alternatives to taking art without permission include:

If you have a canon character from a popular series, use official art as much as possible.

If you want fan art, commission or request an artist who is willing to let you use their work for icons/themes/other assets. 

Ask the artist for permission first. I know several artists who are fine with you using their art as long as you link back to them so their work doesn’t go unrecognized. Crediting artists and linking to them is very important.

ESPECIALLY do not repost japanese artist fan art without permission. There are distribution laws that can get the fan artist in serious trouble. Several artists have taken their work down altogether because of this.

After going back and forth between wanting to care and having my interest pulled from it all, today I learned the biggest issue I have with RP communities in general.

There’s such an extreme sense of entitlement in some people that it’s disgusting. The moment certain people are given a position of higher importance they feel as if their opinion matters more than that of a typical member’s. Usually it’s pretty easy worked with and contained/fixed, but even some great people slowly grow an ego that just never goes away. Kind of my biggest fear with myself, honestly.

So when it comes to iAnti, if I do remain on there, yeah I’d like to remain as a GM but that’s really all I want and even then it’s just not that important to me. I just want to have fun and avoid the arguments people seem to have over the stupidest things.

“But who should be overlord” “This mod sucks, put this person in instead” “oh no that person also sucks, quick, rotate the entire site and enlist a whole new team”

>and then it’ll rinse and repeat itself because no one ever wants to be told ‘no’. Some people can handle it at least and some will actually get to a solution. Others will just keep telling each other ‘no this is how it should be’ and quite frankly, fuck that, congratulations on being the reason the site is so volatile and toxic.

Well that got a lot more targeted than I planned it to be, because ultimately I’ve seen these same issues in other communities that have similar structures to them. The only ones that seem to really survive either have a fanatical (and also usually toxic to newer members) community or have no centralized plot. Meh.

Things RPrs need to remember

As I've had to remake ANOTHER account to stave off people who will attack you for not shipping/wanting to RP said ship

Not everyone will ship your ship.  Do not force a non-shipper to RP your ship, find someone who ships it.

If your RP contains sensitive material (abuse, smut, rape) please tag it (tumblr) or make it a private note/status/inbox (facebook) in which only those involved with the RP can see so that people who may be triggered by such material can avoid seeing it.

While we all hate spelling/grammar errors, keep in mind those RPrs who are RPing in English that don't speak English as a first language so cut them some slack (and remember that some idioms might not take)

Only report if they're blantantly violating rules.  IE: RPing smut with a minor and person KNOWS they're interacting with a minor, OOC threats to an RPrs life/family/pets/holdings, encouraging 'witch hunts' against profiles for no reason.

RP can be fun but there's also toxic parts too.
