PSA: TAKE A STEP BACK.

Let's reflect, for a moment. Maybe you started roleplaying when you were twelve, maybe you started when you were twenty. Regardless, when you first got into the hobby, you probably had a bit more free time in contrast to what you have now. Maybe you started college, maybe you got a new job that has different hours. Lord knows what goes on in people's lives.

However, have you been stressing out? Have you been frantically typing up dash commentary posts for every little thing? Are you worried about not being able to participate in a specific event?

Take a step back. Breathe.

If roleplay is stressing you out or making you unhappy, this is a genuine reminder that it's okay to go inactive and/or just disengage for a while to do your own thing. Write some drabbles, send people some asks... But there is no need to over extend yourself.

You have mutuals who will always be willing to write with you given their own time and ability to write, event or not. There will always be an opportunity to do a plot you've been wanting to do. There is no time limit. Please be kind to yourself and remind yourself that you would never rush and overexert your roleplay partners, so why rush and overexert yourself?

role play is meant to to be fun, and the second it starts affecting you or your health negatively it's a sign that you need to realign your priorities. ❤️

RP Reminder

RPing is a HOBBY, never make your RP partner feel pressured or guilt tripped

We are here to have fun 

Respect your RP partners at ALL times

You will not get to RP with everyone, some muses don’t work together nor do all mods. This isn’t the end of the world! Keep your chin high and have fun with who you and your muse are compatible with 

MUSES =/= MODS

If someone has rules, PLEASE read them. Most mods will not care if you make a mistake here and there, but you should always respect them by reading them and trying to remember them

Behind every muse is a REAL person. Don’t be an arsehole! 

Mods DO NOT have to cater to you if you don’t like something. While many don’t have a problem with using tag systems, please remember that their blog is THEIR blog, and not yours. 

Do not send anon hate or vague blog. It’s not only a horrible thing to do, but it will make you lose followers and friends--because it’s not attractive in the least.

RP blogs can be personal, RP strict, or a mix between--it’s YOUR blog.

It’s OKAY to say no 

DO NOT BE POSSESSIVE OF YOUR RP PARTNERS, they are PEOPLE and are allowed to RP with others (that’s why we’re HERE).

Jealousy is likely to happen to everyone (we all have our insecurities), this is a reminder that it is NOT okay to make your partner feel like shit because you’re jealous. Work through it. 

You are not obligated to send memes if they are posted and you’re not feeling it.

It’s okay to drop threads!

STOP FEELING GUILTY! 

Be polite

Some people have triggers, please respect these in any way you can. However, you are NOT responsible for another mods triggers and how they cope, but please respect them (by using tags if asked, etc)

Understand that some mods have full time jobs, disabilities (mental and physical), English isn’t their first language, etc. Please be lenient and don’t shut them down because they are busy or have other obligations, or have trouble in certain areas. 

Make each other feel welcome

Have self care, step away if you need to, take breaks

Do not be rude to people just because they are popular, popular mods are STILL people, and many of them are just as anxious as everyone else.

Post as many headcanons, screencaps, art, as you like. It’s YOUR blog!

RELAX! Because RPing is a HOBBY, and hobbies are things that you enjoy doing. Do not let other people run you out of a fandom because they are toxic. Remember that we are all here to enjoy our muses and other muses, as well as make friends. Remember that it’s okay to feel negative at times, but there is no excuse to ever treat your partners like crap because they did something you do not like (unless it’s breaking the law or causing serious legal issues).
