Okay so you have a muse and have joined a group or decided to go with indie rp. Now what? Set up a blog for your character! This is a small guide on how to edit your tumblr theme to fit as a muse blog. This is for people new to tumblr, so some of it may be obvious. Just skip to the part you need help with. It is a step by step guide so it shouldn’t be that hard to find what you need.
First find a theme you like, you can google search for themes through google but as long as you are just rping one muse the theme can just be simple and easy to navigate. Here are a few posts with some simple themes that are really nice.
Night Violets Themes
Glen Themes
If you’re confused about how to take these themes and edit them to fit your character I’ll go over that too, just follow along.
After you’ve found a theme that you like the caption attached to the post should have all the information about the logistics of the theme. It’s polite to like the post that way the creator has a better chance of more people seeing their stuff and you can go back to it if you need information on the logistics of the theme.
To copy the code, click on the code hyperlink, this is usually near the preview.
After clicking on code it will take you away from tumblr to a html code holding cite. Highlight and copy then entire code.
Afterward head back to tumblr. Click on edit appearance to the right:
Scroll down and click on edit theme:
This page will then pop up, click on customize html:
You’ll be in your themes html coding page. Highlight previous code and paste the new code here:
Click upgrade preview and if you like how it looks click save.
Click the back arrow and if the coder is good you’ll have a much more comprehensive theme edit page. Some themes will have a header image or a sidebar image that you can upload. Try to make these images cohesive and make them represent the character you are wanting to play.
If you’re confused about the size of the image go pack to the coder’s theme post and check out the caption. Usually it will give you the dimensions of all the images involved in the theme.
There may be places that allow you to put in url links. This is a good way to make pages about your character including background, biography, and general information.
If you are linking a page or tag in your blog all you have to do is put a forwardslash and it will direct you there. If you would like to link the rp blog you belong to you must put the whole url.
You can create pages in your edit theme as well, these are great for basic info about your character like bio, relationships, or wanted connections.
If you have any questions or concerns please ask and I will try to make the guide more comprehensive.

Anyone have any good theme makers (free for now) that I can look at? I like darker colors. Think goth. But not over the top, soft/romantic. Multimuse prefered... simple? Any recs or anything would be LOVELY! :)
[Would anyone be interested - and patient enough - to make a theme for me~? And perhaps help walk me through installing it? I would sure appreciate it! I would also like help in making a Multi-Muse page so I can finally access all of my characters easily, and so everyone can, too! Please and thank you, someone! Anyone...? Pleeease?]
