Final Fantasy XIV Character sheet for Roleplay So I made a character sheet to be used in roleplay. I always wanted to fill one out for my own character but I didn’t like how cluttered and how many useless boxes were in D&D Character sheets.  I went a step further and created a Gil Calculator where if you want, you can input an income and expenses and the Calculator will manage your characters Gil based on a weekly pay cheque! There is no right or wrong way you can fill this character sheet out, and you don’t have to use the gil calculator Make sure you Copy the document for your own filling. For an example of a filled out character sheet, here is my own! Alright, so I have spent the better part of two days doing this. As writers I know that it is hard to come up with different words some times, and I have had some guides that I use to help. The one in the middle is off tumblr, and I haven’t the faintest idea who made it, but hopefully they don’t mind me using it in this. All the words on the outside were given to me by someone I look up to in terms of writing. It was this big old word document, and all but one of the ‘sections’ have made it onto here. These are big enough to be references, and I have it set as a rotating desktop on my computer.

Honestly I just wanted to share, so use them if you want, but please do not claim you made them.

RP Tools for Tumblr

When I first started roleplaying over five years ago, I had no idea what I was doing, to be honest. My very first blog was made on a whim and I went about it the same way. I had no notion of tags, reblogs, read mores, anything at all. To be honest, I still have the blog if only for the memories.

So this is a list of stuff that I’ve found that has helped my roleplay experience easier and a lot more organized: XKit & RPThreadTracker.

XKit

This is the most powerful tool to have, tbh. Besides making your experience in tumblr a more personalized one, it has lots of extensions which are lifesavers for roleplayers.

My favorites are:

Editable reblogs. This one allows for cutting down those threads that get awfully long. You know, to avoid annoying people on the dashboard and on mobile. Roleplaying etiquette suggests you cut down the previous reblogs to show only the latest reply from your partner and your new response, but you can include as many previous replies as you want. Only keep in mind some people don’t like long posts on their dashboards and there’s a risk they will unfollow you if they are on mobile.

Tweaks. This one I like particularly for the ‘tag wrapping’ feat, since it lets you see your partner’s tags entirely, which is useful while rolepalying mostly if you (like me) like to have random ooc conversations on the tags while you post.

Reblog Display Options. This is entirely for the visual aspect, since it only affects the way posts look like on your dashboard, while not editing any of them. You can see posts in the previous traditional ‘nested’ format, and even color the blockquotes to identify easily which reply belongs to whom. Convenient when you are working on a group thread.

Shorten Posts. This is the extension of the gods, and honestly I think it is equally useful for people who don’t roleplay. As the name says, this extension allows you to shorten posts down to a maximum post height set by you, and you can even select which types of posts to shorten and which not to (like, you can select text posts and photosets, but leave long link posts as they are). Extremely useful if you follow people who don’t know/cannot cut posts, so you can go through your dash without losing your head.

Quick tags. This one lets you add predefined tags or groups of tags to your posts. You save the groups under a particular name and then you can add them quickly to anything you post. Useful when you have threads with long names which you want to keep organized.

Activity+. This adds extra feats to your activity page, like grouping notifications by post and filtering them by type. Pretty good when you are looking for a reply from a partner.

RP Thread Tracker

This, my friends, is the thing galaxies are made of. Seriously. This little site right here will allow you to keep track of every single thread you have going on. Every single one of them. No more wondering if your partner replied, or thinking you were the last one to post when it actually was your partner but tumblr never notified you. No, those are things of the past!

Once you set up an account, which is completely free by the way, you can add the url of the blogs you want to track, add threads to track on each separate blog by setting stuff like title, the url of your partner, and tags to identify them easily. You can also put a blog on hiatus so you don’t get notifications from that one in particular, as well as add a thread to the archive if you are done with it, or untrack it if you no longer need it.

The best thing about this is that the site is run by a very friendly and attentive person, @blackjackkent, who is always there to fix stuff and make the whole thing better so, if you can, make sure to donate to keep the site running.

Resources/ Definitions for the Mun w/ a Business-inclined Muse

If you have a muse that’s a CEO, entrepreneur, etc, it’s good to know terms, rules, and lifestyle to accurately portray your muse.

Types of businesses:

Sole Proprietorship- One individual or married couple in business alone. Less risk, more in control and one is able to avoid excessive legal control and taxes, however the owner is 100% liable for all debts incurred by the business.

Limited Liability Partnership (LLC)-  A Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) is similar to a General Partnership except that normally a partner doesn’t have personal liability for the negligence of another partner. Used by professionals such as Lawyers or accountants.

General Partnership- Composed of two or more persons, who agree to contribute money, labor, or skill to a business. Each partner shares the profits, losses, and management of the business, and each partner is personally and equally liable for debts of the partnership. The details of the partnership are included in a written agreement.

Limited Partnership- Composed of one or more general partners and one or more limited partners.  The general partners manage the business and share fully in its profits and losses. Limited partners share in the profits of the business, but their losses are limited to the extent of their investment. Limited partners are not usually involved in day to day operations.

Limited Liability Limited Partnership-  A Limited Liability Limited Partnership is a Limited Partnership that chooses to become an LLLP by including a statement to that effect in its certificate of limited partnership. This type of business structure may shield general partners from liability for obligations of the LLLP.

Corporation-  A more complex business structure. A corporation has certain rights, privileges, and liabilities beyond those of an individual. Doing business as a corporation may yield tax or financial benefits, but these can be offset by other considerations, such as increased licensing fees or decreased personal control. A corporation may be for profit or not-for-profit.

Not-For-Profit Corporation-  A legal entity and is typically run to further an ideal or goal rather than in the interests of profit. Many nonprofits serve the public interest, but some engage in private sector activities. A NFP corporation usually has a common goal or mission.

Limited Liability Company (LLC)-  A Limited Liability Company (LLC) is formed by 1 or more individuals or entities through a special written agreement. The agreement details the organization of the LLC, including provisions for management, assignability of interests, and distribution of profits and losses. They may engage in any lawful, for-profit business or activity other than banking or insurance

Other: 

Trust-  A Trust is a legal relationship in which one person, called the trustee, holds property for the benefit of another person, called the beneficiary.

Joint Venture-  A Joint Venture is formed for a limited length of time to carry out a business transaction or operation.

Tenants in Common-  A Tenants in Common allows 2 or more people to occupy the same business while retaining separate identities in regard to assets or liabilities resulting from business activities.

Municipality-  A Municipality is a public corporation established as a subdivision of a state for local governmental purposes.

Association- An Association is an organized group of people who share in a common interest, activity, or purpose.

Organization Structure Types:

Functional Structure-  Functional structure is set up so that each portion of the organization is grouped according to its purpose. In this type of organization, for example, there may be a marketing department, a sales department and a production department.

Divisional Structure- Divisional structure typically is used in larger companies that operate in a wide geographic area or that have separate smaller organizations within the umbrella group to cover different types of products or market areas.

Matrix Organization- a hybrid of divisional and functional structure. Typically used in large multinational companies, the matrix structure allows for the benefits of functional and divisional structures to exist in one organization. This can create power struggles because most areas of the company will have a dual management--a functional manager and a product or divisional manager working at the same level and covering some of the same managerial territory.

Things to Know:

INC. Vs. Corp.- Corp. is short for corporation and Inc. stands for incorporated. They are both used in names of incorporated entities. When you register a business, you can use either in the business name. In terms of legal structure, compliance obligations, limited liability or tax structure, there is no difference between the two.

Generally the term "company" indicates a particular kind of business dealing in a specific product. number of companies. Simply, a company is an organization, but an organization is not just a company. Firm, corporation and business are synonyms of "company" 

Tips:

- Research the laws of businesses in the specific country that your muse is based in. If it’s multiple countries, laws are obviously different.

-Depending on what kind of structure your muse’s business is, they may the the CEO or the President. It is up to you to choose how your muse’s business is structured.

- Watch Shark Tank if only to understand how intense a deal can get entrepreneur wise. However, don’t use it as a basis for other things.

- It doesn’t really matter if your muse is the ‘unethical’ businessperson. On the outside, they must have a stable business structure to give off the idea that they are being ethical.

are there not any other Itachi rpers that you like? or do you simply not like watching others write Itachi?

[[ There is.... unfortunately no other way for me to actually answer this without sounding like I’m putting others down. Nonetheless, I’m the person who clicked ‘edit’, so here we go.

Unfortunately, the thing with tumblr is that there is this culture of “every portrayal is valid and equal” a culture that I have always disagreed with. Yes, I 100% support the idea of writing whatever the fuck you want, and I always will, but just because you jot something down, it doesn’t automatically mean it’s in-character.

Too many people conflate the idea of a good character portrayal with being a good person, and that’s simply not true. I wish there was a way to critisize people’s portrayals (when asked, of course) without the person taking it as a personal insult. Because they always do. 

That being said... I have never had a problem writing with other Itachi. I have always welcomed it, and I used to to it frequently in the past. But these people are long gone, and unfortunately, the Itachi I am currently seeing just aren’t up to my snuff and/or they are antis.

And that sounds elitist, doesn’t it? On tumblr, of course it does. But people are allowed to have rules/limits, and these are my own. I don’t... want people to put their own personal spin on the character, I want the character. 

I’ve played Itachi since June 2013. That was also when I started re-reading Naruto. I did what’s called canon review, because I wanted to play the character true to form. I didn’t want to make up stuff, I wanted to play Itachi. All his good, all his bad, his flaws, etc. I wanted to get his morals down to the last one. It didn’t matter what I personally wanted out of the character, it mattered if it was something that the character would do or not. If I put  him in X situation, how would he react? If we changed Y event in the timeline, how would he turn out in the end? The same? Slightly different? Majorly different.

Then you have issues like antis, or people who write purple prose (if I have to see raven hair one more time...)

Essentially, I just take writing Itachi very seriously. I want to write Itachi, not some fantasy version of Itachi. 

And as a reminder: I’m not telling anyone that they have to write Itachi X way, nor that they have to play with me. No one has to play with anyone how they want to. I still 100% support the idea of writing whatever you want. If it’s making you and your partners happy, then keep doing it. I simply take it a lot more seriously, and have always disagreed with the idea that every portrayal is the same level of “valid.”

Writing what you want =/= being in character.

Is it bad being OOC? Of course not. I just want to remind people that it has no reflection on you as a person, because people take it too personal. ]]
