Who recommended it? The whole office-- we’re all using it!

What is it? It’s a super easy way to communicate easily and effectively with one another--there’s an online version, a desktop app, and a mobile app. Their slogan? Be less busy. We’re good with that.

Why is it awesome? We’ve been using Slack in place of internal e-mails to one another, and Erin (@erinsephel) sums things up in a quote given via Slack: “My email inbox's FIRST PAGE dates back to Sept 2. A WHOLE WEEK.” There were numerous Slack replies of agreement and joy (Also, we can use it to auto send pug gifs. What more could we want?).

redpepper approved: Skillshare

Today on redpepper approved: Skillshare

Who recommended it? Everyone (@redpepper)! A whole group of us at the office are taking classes on it.

What is it? It’s an online community where you can master real-world skills through project-based classes.

What is it? It’s an app where someone comes up with a category and you can respond with a gif of your choosing. The best gif wins. Think Cards Against Humanity, with gifs.

Why is it awesome? Ryan tells all-- "We love this concept even though execution seemed a smidge clunky. We overuse reaction gifs in emails around the office  + we are big fans of CAH. This marries them both. We see a bit of ourselves in this app. It hurts a little that we didn’t think of it first.”

Today on redpepper approved: The Noun Project

Who recommended it? Kyle, one of our design interns (We’ll send you to @rpinterns since he hasn’t used his own twitter account since 2011).

What is it? It’s a website and community working on building a global, visual language. You just search a noun, and then you can find royalty-free icons for purchase matching that word!

Where can you get it? Just go to thenounproject.com!

Why is it awesome? Kyle elaborates--“The Noun Project is a great resource for finding the right graphic icon to represent what noun you are trying to communicate in a pinch without having to create a customized image. While most graphic designers will create their own icons for custom projects sometimes they need to create something quickly for internal use and making icons can be very time consuming. It is very helpful to be able to just type in a word and download a great gray scale vector image, it saves a lot of time.”
