Before their 'Fall'
:D
They used to be able to gaze into whatever point in time they wanted to throughout all of time, generally granting their worshippers prophetic visions occasionally, when they felt it was for the best
They were one of 5 deities, often worshipped together. The other 4 never liked how close they grew to the mortals.
Desna & Moko were the friendliest to them despite that fact
But Qyero & Bi-u? They despised their follow God.
Because they lost the 6th to them

Her Biology
The party decided to relax near a large lake, the breeze blew past them, bringing forth a wonderful chill. A few of them decided to have some fun.
Ink, Raloris & Sylvester were the most eager to jump in. The others were a bit busy with their own interests so they were the only ones, aside from Scry, who chose to swim for a while.
Fifteen minutes later and the three were playing games in the water. Which was interrupted several times because Scry kept messing with them, “Could you not?”, Raloris huffed at her after the game had to pause for the 11th time in a row. Scry giggled, “What? I’m just having fun”, she defended herself in a playful tone.
That was her excuse each time. So Ink came up with a fun little game that would teach their gooey friend a lesson. It didn't take before one of them managed to grab her and pull her into the water.
And that’s where the surprise came. One moment she was underwater, the next she slipped out of it and sat on the surface of the lake like a floatie. “Ha ha very funny, I’m guessing this was your ‘other game’?”, she sounded unimpressed. The three looked at her in shock, at this point they really should’ve been expecting this.
“...I’m less dense than water”, Scry huffed awkwardly as they stared at her. “Is that why you were sitting on the sidelines?”, Raloris asked her, “I suppose”, she sighed, “Can you guys just resume? This is kind of embarrassing”, her cheeks puffed up, she was pouting, how cute.

“I’ve noticed you don't eat much”, Allegra raised a question. Scry looked up from where she was staring at the ground. It was lunchtime and everyone was happily eating. Except Scry. It was something they all had noticed since she joined them a few days ago. She rarely ate, if at all. It was concerning but then again, her biology was clearly different from theirs.
“Oh. I guess it is concerning for you guys”, she realised a few days too late, the party members looked at her with a deadpanned expression. “What? You think I’d bother telling you guys when I’ve only been around for 5 days?”, came her blunt response. They couldn't argue with that, now could they?
“It would be nice to have some clarity”, Marcus added with a smile. Scry shook her head, “Fine, fine. If you so insist”, she was definitely mocking them. “Could you stop jabbing at us and explain already?”, came a sigh from Celtic, Scry snorted at him, “Okaaaaay, geez, impatient much?”, she laughed, “Long story short, I eat once every 3 months”. Everyone paused.
“You. What.”, they looked at her like she grew a second head. "I don't need to eat as frequently as you guys”, she huffed nonchalantly, “Besides, it saves resources, doesn't it? I don't see why it's a problem”, she shrugged. “I- well, that’s one way to put it-”, Allegra choked a bit on her food. Wow. Ok. So they have a party member who can survive 3 months without food. How lovely…?
“You guys asked, I answered”, Scry hummed, “Now go back to eating, it's awkward when you all stare”, the party proceeded to awkwardly resume eating their lunches.

“It's been about 2 years at this point, let's list everything we know about you”, Marcus cleared their throat.
“You eat every 3 months and eat a lot in one sitting; you are less dense than water; part of your body, when eaten, can give anti-acidic properties to the consumer & your blood glows bright enough to be a really good light source”, the list was short but sounded so cartoonishly fake.
“Sounds about right.”, Scry chuckled, “I feel like we’re missing some facts about you”, the high elf replied, playfully suspicious, “Hah. The rest you’ll have to figure out yourself”, she retorted cheekily. He was about to reply but chose to stay quiet for a moment, as they suspected something, “...’Cause uh, I don't know much about myself either…?”, there it was.
The party had figured out around the 1 year mark that Scry was willing to blurt the truth out to Marcus with a suspicious level of willingness. They used that to their advantage, a lot.
“You could've just told us that from the beginning”, Marcus sighed fondly, “Oh c’mon, it's embarrassing! Who doesn't know their own body??? Me apparently”, she huffed, melting a bit. “Now, now, don't melt on me just yet”, they hummed at her with a gentle smile.
Scry grumbled, “It's stupid.”, “No it's not”, “Yes it is! I’ve had this body since forever and yet I only know a few things about myself”, she grumbled.
It was true. This had always frustrated her. Even before she met them, before she became an adventurer, before she started travelling. She didn't know her own body, it felt foreign to her when she first woke up even though it was familiar. It felt right and wrong at the same time and by the divines she did not want to mention just how hard it was to learn how to WALK.
She still remembered her confusion that day, her body felt off, she had legs but they wouldn't move, her arms almost felt like they were the wrong size, she didn't know if she could even speak at the time.
It's funny though, when you look back at it, because despite all that, here she was, probably one of the most annoying members of the party any enemy would have to deal with. Because her body doesn't exactly work off the same logic as other creatures.
There are many examples for this, like the several times she had been mistaken for a slime or some other monster taking a more structured form. It was a plausible argument, but every weakness that slimes had, every weakness one could think of for anything else too, she did not. Any ‘possible equivalent’ of her was immediately scratched out because literally nothing seemed to match in terms of how she worked.
Until it came to that cult.
Or, well, several cults actually.
“Whatever the case, you are not. And I mean it, not getting involved with that cult. I know you want answers too, but please.”, Marcus pleaded. She deflated a bit.
Hii-eska was it? Yeah…it was several months after Hii-eska nearly killed her when she met him again. Technically this was merely her second time meeting him since the last time didn't exactly count, at least to her. It was a quiet night and she was on watch duty for that hour. Hii-eska had snuck over, offering her answers to these questions about what she really was.
It was tempting.
But the party was not having it.
“...Fine.”, she whined at Marcus.
She guessed she didn't need to figure it out right now. But the offer was still standing, and she had been curious for so long.
…
No.
She’ll…figure it out eventually.
No need to get involved with this cult.
Marcus smiled at her. She sighed.
Yeah. She’ll figure it out with them. No need to rush it.

Notes:
I intended on this to be purely wholesome but here we are with a lore dump at the end lmao
The sequence is not in exact order
The first snippet happens around the 6 month mark of RPG!Scry being with the party
The second snippet, as stated, is from her first week with the party
And yes, I've decided that the whole 'nearly dying bit' from the last ficlet happens in the second year of her with the party
And yes. The cults are gonna get mentioned more
Also yeah, the party will obliterate Hii-eska if he comes anywhere close to them at this point in time because fun fact:
Though it's technically been 3 meetings between RPG!Scry & Hii-eska, that guy has actually met the other party members more often
And they will in fact murder him if he tries to go near their goopy friend now lol
Another fun fact: she has a huge scar following the events of her near death from the last ficlet. The burns healed but the axe chop remained
Rage
Everything was a blur, all she could feel was unbearable pain. Her form, reduced to what was a sad pathetic chunk of her, squirming, wings flat and still, her tentacles digging into the ground she lay on.
It burned. So much.
Something touched her. A hand? It stung, she retreated further into the floor, flattening into it. She could try and recall how this happened but she was in too much pain to comprehend the situation.
Voices hummed in the background of her pain-ridden thoughts, two voices.
She didn't bother deciphering their words.

Disheveled, tired, but enraged, Axel stood guard, sword held firm in his grip as he pointed it at the man standing opposite to him. “You. You’ve been following us!”, less an accusation, more a statement. The man hummed, his deep voice rumbling softly, “Perhaps. But I mean no harm-”, “You almost hacked her in half”, as if Axel was going to buy into that bullshit.
He had been struggling to fight Scry earlier, alone, in a dark cave with bare minimum visibility aside from the ominous glow of the odd patterns that glowed off of her. She was not in control at the time, clearly, and though he was happy he didn't have to fight her now, he had a new problem.
“I believe you’re not in a position to refuse aid”, the man replied, arms calmly hanging by his side, one hand holding onto the bloody axe responsible for the wound, as he gave Axel a disgustingly warm smile. But he was right, one glance back at her on the ground and you could tell she was not doing well.
Her blood also glowed apparently, and it made looking at the scene much worse. Both could hear the quiet sizzling from her own blood burning her, the way her flattened globby form twitched was painful to see and by the divines, he could see how jagged and rough the chopped wound was.
“...Fine. But I’m watching you” Axel grumbled furiously, he was enraged. But what could he do? He was no healer, and he didn't know how to help her.

He wasn't expecting to be taught some tricks, but here they were. The man, Hii-eska, odd name but whose he to judge, happily let him watch as he dealt with the incredibly squirmy Scry, this was the most pain he had ever seen her in.
He was…incredibly thorough, which only raised his suspicions further. After ‘patching’ her up, one thing led to another and now they were currently looking for a running stream somewhere in the cavern. He carried Scry in his arms as gently as possible, she was a good light source in this state, sadly enough.
They needed to wipe the blood off slowly since some of it had dried up already.
“...you could've stabbed her instead if making her bleed was the only way to wake her up”, Axel mumbled in slight frustration. Hii-eska sighed, “The wound had to be severe enough to break its control, but I’m sorry, I overshot”, he replied with genuine sadness.
The entire hour they spent walking, Hii-eska had to suffer from passive-aggressive and sometimes direct comments from Axel. He can't blame the man though, he really did almost end her life back then. He had definitely miscalculated just how hard he should've chopped her, trust him when he says that Axel wasn't the only one grinding his ears right now.
“Are you INSANE? How could you be so careless!? We can not possibly resume with our plan if she is dead.”, the voice, angry and worried, chided Hii-eska. Having two worried voices nagging him sucked, but he deserves it in this context. “...May I check on her?”, he hummed to Axel after a good pause.
Axel looked almost offended by that request but huffed before stopping his path, Hii-eska lightly poked her to see if she’ll react. Though the wound was patched, there were still many things that could potentially end her. She moved. Barely. She didn't have much strength left. That worried them both.
“Would you perhaps have some healing potions on you?”, Hii-eska asked Axel. “I used up the last one after I fell down into this cavern”, he replied, “We’ll have to be quick then”, that only made Axel more anxious than before. “I’m flaying you alive the moment we get out of here”, Hii-eska sighed at Axel’s threat, personally, that sounded better than what the voice in his head had likely planned.
They eventually found the stream they had been looking for, touching the water seemed to bring out it's luminescence. That helped. A little. Axel ripped out part of his scarf and wet it in the stream, putting Scry down on the ground and gently scrubbing her, her lack of reaction didn't help his slowly increasing worries.
Meanwhile, Hii-eska explored the stream, he needed to check if there was a way out of here. Following the stream might lead them somewhere outside after all. He would've stayed with Axel or even swapped places with him but that man probably looked about ready to try and gut him alive if he tried to get him to leave her side in the state she was in.

How they ended up in this situation is a question not even they have an answer to. “What is that thing?!-”, Axel yelled as he dodged the mana infused claw strike at his face. Hii-eska didn't know how they had managed to find their location but right now, their priority was Scry, who had unfortunately gotten thrown elsewhere when this monstrous amalgamation slammed Axel across the cave they were in.
Her globby form had pretty much lost all its elasticity at this point thanks to her injury so if anything were to try and rip her apart or crush her, they would succeed pretty easily. Hii-eska flung his axe at the monster from the other side of the cave, “Find Scry!”, was all he yelled as he got the monster’s attention and ran the other way.
The area was a bit of a mess since the beast fell through the roof of the cave first, causing a lot of debris to scatter. Finding his globby team mate was stressful, but he eventually found her. With her wound open again. He winced as he repeated what Hii-eska had done the first time to stop her bleeding, squeezing the wound shut from the sides and slowly rubbing it.
It closed eventually but she seemed to be in a much worse state now, only the occasional twitching from one of her tentacles gave any sign that she was still alive. And that didn't bode well with him.

“You should rest too”, Marcus hummed at Axel, looking a little exasperated, “I’m rested”, he replied seriously, “No you’re not, please go rest”, this back and forth had gone on for about an hour now, at least for the day anyway. Scry looked better, her globby form looked ‘healthier’ than before which was good.
It had been a few days, he could not sit still. What if that idiot Hii-eska comes back and tries something?
His angry grumbling and rants had confirmed some suspicions about that man to the party when they finally reunited, now that they knew this guy had been following them, or well, following Scry from the looks of it, everyone was a little alert. “Watching her like a hawk while you yourself are injured and healing will not help anyone”, Marcus sighed.
“...”, aside from the ranting, there were concerns about Scry. The burns would heal but it was likely that the axe wound would scar over as it struck her in a more ‘corporeal’ area or whatever. They had come to that conclusion after Star pointed out that they had literally seen this idiot creature tear up a part of her tentacle without any problems.
Which implies that the only part of her that could heal without much trouble was the ‘cap’ on her head and the wings and tentacles that sprouted from it.
It took several people sighing at Axel to finally make him go rest. It would’ve been funny if Scry had seen it.

Notes:
This one's a bit half-assed since I just wanted to get the idea out -u-'
Anyways so yeah, this is the 'aftermath' of that mind controlled!Scry concept I drew up a while ago
Axel will flay Hii-eska alive, that's for sure XD
Anyways so I might try writing fluff(FINALLY, my brain would not let me focus on fluff lmao) which may just be different fluffy bits mushed together cuz I don't think I'll be able to write them all long enough to be their own separate ficlets
Also the 'they' aka the beast mentioned here is related to A Cult.
Out of many cults
Rival cults, even
Ehe 🤭✨
I think you can formulate WHY one of them hunted them down here
As for where Hii-eska went? Back to watching because he nearly committed an atrocity worthy of landing him in being sacrificed lolol
Also I was stuck between the 'main character' for the fic being Allegra, Marcus or Axel for like 3 days and I was getting frustrated XD
I chose Axel for new party member privilege, next I think I'll write one of the original party members(once I figure out their appearances cuz damn they're refs are buried and obscure)
Anyways so who wants high stakes hurt/sort of comfort ficlet of RPG!Scry
:)
The Man, Her Choice; The Man, Their Voice
The party had decided to take a break.
It's been a while since they had one. The last few places they travelled to weren't the friendliest to them and they were exhausted. Luckily, they were passing by a quaint inn near a giant lake that seemed relatively peaceful.
As peaceful it could get with wanted criminals staying there. They all surprisingly agreed to not cause a scene or alert authorities because despite the residents, the inn was genuinely quite peaceful to be in.
At least, in the morning, night time was an absolute scream fest, with most of the residents partying their hearts out. Sylvester, Marcus and a few others also partied a bit when they had time. Ink would go enjoy the breeze outside at night, Allegra spent her time in her room, Axel seemed preoccupied with writing letters to his love, and Scry?
She was dragged into a drinking game with some of the more permanent residents. “...Why did you drag me into this?”, she sounded confused and mildly annoyed. “Hah, well, I wanted to see well you’d put up with alcohol”, came the man’s gruff voice, he seemed amicable and cheerful, sure he was one of the many criminals on the bounty list but he seemed like a nice man. She, on the other hand, wanted to puke, she never did like alcohol, only tasted it once out of curiosity, the taste was horrid and it made her sick.
“Will I get something if I win?”, she asked, if she was going to have to suffer, she might as well get something for it. “I could give you a tome I found a while ago”, that piqued her interest, “A tome? What kind? Was it old? New? Was it of a different script? Did-”, “Woah there, calm down lass, you’ll see when you win it”, the man smirked playfully as he raised his cup.
Oh, the game was ON.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
“The divines, why would you indulge in alcohol if it made you sick?”, Marcus chided as he helped a half melted, clearly sick & partially drunk Scry into her room. “...tome…”, she mumbled in a garbled tone, one of her tentacles was wrapped around a tome, it looked old, weathered, the symbol was vague & faded.
The high elf sighed, shaking their head as they made their way into the room. He gently put her down on the bed. “How many cups did you have again?”, Marcus inquired as they glanced at his melting friend, she looked rather uncanny and…gross in her partially melted form, looking like a slimy mass with structure. The tome lay next to her on the bed.
“...mmmmm…fffffiiiiiffft……tiiiiiiii-twooooooo.”, her voice slurred as she melted further, slowly slipping into her fully melted state. Marcus sighed, she was going to experience a really bad hangover in the morning.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
“Uh, is she alright? Why is she stuck to the ceiling?”, Ink asked in confusion, Marcus, Ink & Axel stared at Scry, in her globby form, stuck to the ceiling as her goo dripped down ever so slowly. “Is…this how HER hangover looks like??”, Axel asked, slightly concerned. “Considering this is her first hangover ever, it likely is”, Marcus sighed, slightly bewildered but mostly worried about their gooey friend. How did she even manage to get stuck to the ceiling like that????
It…took about 17 different attempts from several people before anyone managed to get her unstuck from the ceiling. Basically everyone from the party had tried to get her down but nothing worked. It was almost as if she was plastered to the ceiling.
It was the same man that had pulled her into the drinking match earlier who managed to get her down. “You seem knowledgeable about this”, Marcus commented as they finally checked up on Scry, now brought down, who seemed unharmed, just in a lot of discomfort thanks to the hangover.
“Ah. I have had some experience with similar beings.”, the man hummed politely. That raised everyone’s brow. As far as they knew, Scry was the only one of her kind they had met. Who were these ‘other beings’? “Thanks for the help mister gruff man”, Ink thanked him cheerfully, the man in question laughed.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
“So that is the form they have been reduced to?”, came a whisper, regal and calm, with a hint of intrigue and…relief? He hummed to himself, “It appears so. At least we found them, right?”, the man hummed, voice firm as he shared the memory with the voice. Telepathic connections were an odd thing you see.
The voice sounded happy, “Yes…yes. It is a relief to have found them after so long, aeons of silence and now we finally know what became of them.”. The man smiled, “What’s the next course of action?”, he inquired as he sat up and got ready for another day. “Do you know how long that party will stay?”, the voice asked gently, “From what I heard from them in small talk, they’ll stay at this inn for another week or so”.
“Good. Do not let them out of your sight. I must know everything about them. It's been so long, there are bound to be differences in them now”, the voice commanded with a firmness. “Understood….oh, I feel you should know, the party calls them ‘Scry’ now. She seems much different from how you described them to be”, the man pointed out as he paused for a moment.
The voice remained silent for a moment, “Ah. So 'she' chose to take THAT name.”, the tone had suddenly become flat. Must be a subject of great annoyances then. “Whatever the case, continue with your mission, Hii-eska. This is the closest we have ever been to our goal”.

Notes:
I wanted some lore lol
I'll draw Hii-eska...eventually.
As for who the voice is, I think I made the connection clear enough but I will not be giving you names.
Yet.
Anyways so yeah, if RPG!Scry ever has enough alcohol to get drunk, she will, in fact, launch herself at the nearest hard surface to smack herself out of the discomfort
All in her glob form
Yeah ik this contradicts my previous statement of her never drinking alcohol even if her life depended on it
But like, it's hilarious that she'd drink it if it means she gets some magical item lmao
does Scry trust everyone in the party?or does she have someone she absolutely will not talk to because she just doesn't click well with them?
RPG!Axel belongs to @mel-loly
Some notes:
RPG!Scry acts mostly reasonable around everyone who is good at utilising magic or is very knowledgeable about it
She might even give them tips if she thinks they'd do really well on the path of magic
Which is why when she & Axel met, it struck everyone as a surprise that she was particularly hostile towards him, almost immediately
Perhaps its related to something divine, who knows
