♥ - Dionysus ~ ( rqsebled )
Alcohol flowed freely with the help of a wallet that never ran dry, so Chuuya thought little of the second glass of wine that appeared in front of him immediately after he’d finished his first of the evening. He was already feeling a little tipsy, but not so much so that he couldn’t remain fairly civil; just enough that he didn’t particularly care where this next glass had come from without him ever asking for it.
The bartender probably knew his habits by now; that must have been it.
With a nod of thanks to the bartender, he lifted the glass to his lips and drank, chugging it down faster than originally intended. He tended to chug his wine at times when he sincerely desired to get drunk in a hurry, but this wasn’t one of those times. He had a free evening off, and he’d planned to enjoy it—build up an alcohol buzz in the company of a few of the bar’s regulars and a handful of other strangers, then call his driver and head home for a relaxing evening in.
But what was done was done, and his second glass emptied. He couldn’t put his finger on any particular reason, but the wine tasted of a much higher quality than the one he’d downed a few minutes ago. It was likely a better vintage, if he had to guess, but something about it was almost too well-made; too perfect. The taste of it lingered pleasantly on his tongue, the burn of the alcohol still in the back of his throat when he looked to see the stranger who had appeared next to him. The moment their eyes locked, blue meeting blue, his mouth went as dry as if he hadn’t drank a drop in months.
The man was gorgeous, with dark skin and piercing blue eyes, not to mention a full head of wavy, artfully messy hair that so closely reminded him of his favorite color. They hadn’t ever met, had they? He was drawn in by a feeling he couldn’t shake off, a longing so powerful that he almost dared to call it love—but they didn’t even know each other yet! It would be one thing if the man was someone he knew and the alcohol buzz just happened to make seeking out a connection seem a little more tempting, but he’d never seen this guy before at all.
The ache in his chest was infuriating in its persistence, and he hated that there was a very real temptation to kiss the lips on the same face as those brilliant blue eyes. He bit his lip and quickly turned his head away, trying to rationalize it all and coming up short. What the fuck was going on?!
