OH MY GOD UUUUUGGGGHHHHHHHH okay. so I think the reason why I have such a strong reaction is because (im crazy, but also) its been quite a bit since we’ve seen a one on one between these 2 dummies (genius scientists) AND THIS ONE IS REALLY SAD KNOWING WHAT THIS PROJECT WILL EVENTUALLY BECOME.
But before going through the pages themselves, I want to first acknowledge the fact that. Wingdings didn’t acknowledge/tell Sans about the tape. That was PROOF of time travel, WHAT ARE YOU DOING??? WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS????????? 😭
WHAT IS HE THINKING IN THAT SICK BRAIN OF HIS- but lets be real for a sec, ive been putting off examining this fact for a bit now, because It was unclear if Wingdings would eventually tell Sans about the tape, but now it has been made very clear that he has absolutely no plans of giving up that piece of information. And that. Confuses me- IN A GOOD WAY Im confused but im INTRIGUED
and NOT because Wingdings isnt telling him, but because he IS telling Sans about his research…So whats the purpose of controlling information like this when it’d be vital to their research?? Well, i’ll get into that after I actually analyze the pages…

“I think its very interesting how much more energetic and talkative Wingdings is with Sans compared to how he acts with Alphys” I TOO FIND THAT VERY. VERY. INTERESTING. I have never consciously acknowledged this fact as it HAS been shown in earlier pages! I just didn’t think about it….But now that it has entered my brain, it will be here forever. Just…watching me.
Wingdings talks in full caps multiple times, which also makes me really sad HE’S ALWAYS MASKING SO HARD IT MAKES ME REALLY EMOTIONAL AS SOMEONE WHO ALSO TALKS REALLY LOUDLY AND USES A LOT OF HAND GESTURES.

- THE PAGES!!!!!!!
First thing I noticed since it was already on the last page of the last update- was Wingdings using the talking stick and pointing it at Sans heheheh makes me giggle so much, that adds to how much I love the set up to this conversation in general. Sans is just sat down looking up as his brother as he yaps about his newest hyperfixation.
I also do find it fun how the soul project will in fact intertwine with what they’ll later discover, I also wonder what and how they’ll use Determination, if at all in this equation. I assume so since thats sorta the whole point of the timelines being all funky, but we’ll just have to see…
And GOD I could yap about the brothers interactions all day… “I trust youre smart enough to-“ STOP RIGHT THERE SANS.
“You cant observe time, Dings” THAT CHART IN THE “DINNER IS NOT OVER” AMV SAYS DIFFERENT- SANS.
Though I really like Wingdings’ point here on how humans have forgotten magic, and so what they/we define as impossible may not be so to Monsters. Sans’ face in page 2 also- I love it. It’s just like “alr i have my doubts but i’m hearing you out bro-“
BUT MY FAVORITE BIT BY FAR IS THE FACE SMACK/WINGDINGS GETTING ALL UP CLOSE EHVHEHEHEH IT’S SO THEM!!!! THE THEY!!!! THEY ARE THE OF ALL TIME!!!!??!?!?!?!?! Wingdings is just so passionate and Sans is so willing to go along with whatever, AND THAT REMAINS TRUE FOR HIM AND PAPYRUS THROUGH AND THROUGH, AND IT JUST BREAKS MY HEART!!!!!
Also as a side note, some of the tags noted that the backgrounds were a pain, and while I agree they are- OUGH THEY LOOK SOOOO GOOD
Sans’ note here about “You’re the boss” makes me ponder on how…why not Sans? why isn’t HE the royal scientist? well! because he’s a simple man who doesn’t have the ambition that Wingding does. He both doesn’t want to be it, and I imagine doesn’t have the will power to be the boss, lets be real.

I just stare at my hands.
There so much to unpack here, in just these 2 frames. It’s actually driving me crazy just a little bit- “You’ve always been the one with the crazy ideas.” and “Sure, let’s do it.” First, its the dialogue, then, its the FACE. Despite Sans hearing out Wingdings, and certainly being curious about it alongside him, he also still very clearly doubts it will go anywhere/be even possible. But that doesn’t change the fact that he has FAITH in his brother, he trusts him, he knows that whatever Wingdings is interested in, its worth researching
It just goes to show that Sans willing to go to the ends of the earth with his brother. To attempt the impossible.

Then Sans reminding Wingdings that Alphys exists 😭 It makes me sad that she’s not in on this explanation, but I get why…I still wonder how Wingdings feels about her, how he feels about getting her involved, i wonder if he’ll fight back at all. I dont personally think so, but also if he did it wouldnt surprise me much-
- THE TAPE. *fnaf ambiance*
Whenever I question why Wingdings doesn’t tell Sans about the tape, I tell myself that he’ll just tell him later and theres nothing to analyze! BUT AT THIS POINT I HIGHLY DOUBT IT. So! I want to ponder on that fact.
Wingdings gets Sans involved, but not wholly so.
Well lets first breakdown what the tape said/the contents of the tape as a whole- REWIND THE CLOCK
It talks about how there is something BEYOND the surface, and they must prepare the entire world for its influence. Its also in wingdings’ voice- so that may be a tad concerning. Maybe thats why? not because of the contents but because he doesn’t want Sans to hear that and go “YOU DON’T SOUND WELL- BRO-“.
…Thats my new headcanon/theory I think. “It does not resemble something he would say…yet it is undeniably wingdings.”
…in conclusion: WHERE IS ALPHYS???
