Princess Megami Saikou: AMAB, transgender MTF, she/her, aromantic asexual - ELEMENT OF DETERMINATION
Protagonist of EQG1YSAU and one of the most important characters of RRYSAU. Princess Megami Saikou has appeared in two books out of four, one of which unpublished.
She is a kind and admirable person, very caring of her friends, hence the title of Princess of Friendship. She would sacrifice absolutely anything for them and would stop at nothing to see them happy.
Kizana Sunobu: AFAB, cisgender, she/her, lesbian - ELEMENT OF GENEROSITY
Yet to appear in EQGYSAU, and will get proper scenes in EQG1YSAU once it is properly edited.
For now, all you need to know is that Megami met her when she had to check on the decorations for the Summer Sun Celebration, and they have been good friends ever since defeating Nightmare Rana, also known as Princess Mida Rana, the younger sister of Princess Genka Kunahito.
Kaga Kusha: AFAB, transmasculine agender, it/he, bisexual - ELEMENT OF INTELLIGENCE
The only one of the original Mane 7 of Equestria (besides Megami) that shall remain after the editing of EQGYSAU.
Kaga has stuck by Megami's side for the entirety of their lives and they both studied at the same schools, however, only Megami learned with Princess Kunahito, while Kaga was her loyal assistant, despite him being more intelligent than her.
Moved to Ponyville with Megami.
Midori Gurinishi: AFAB, agender, she/they, toric - ELEMENT OF LAUGHTER
Yet to appear in EQGYSAU, and will get proper scenes in EQG1YSAU once it is properly edited.

Itachi Zametora: AMAB, bigender, he/she, homosexual, polyamorous (?) - ELEMENT OF COURAGE
President of the Student Council and one of the top students of Akademi High, as well as rhythm guitarist for his and his friends' band, The Mane Nine, Itachi has earned his redemption after being the biggest bully of Akademi the school had seen in quite a while.
Currently, he is experiencing absolutely no crises at all, is completely content with his life, and no, he is not thinking about how nice and kind and amazing and smart and beautiful and overall perfect Kaga is, because Kaga is just a friend and Tsuruzo is his boyfriend and, after all, Itachi isn't polyamorous, Tsuruzo is, so really, all he feels about Kaga is friendly friend feelings! Did you ever doubt that? I didn't! Haha! Ahahaha... heheh... heh... ahem.
I would, if Kaga didn't make his heart pound in the same way Tsuruzo used to- WHAT I SAID NOTHING!!!
Tsuruzo Yamazaki: AMAB, genderfluid, he/they/she, homosexual, polyamorous - ELEMENT OF GENEROSITY
Vice-President of the Student Council and the co-leader of the Drama Club, as well as the keytarist for The Mane Nine, Tsuruzo is an over- and melodramatic person that is... actually a pleasure to be around.
Having recently come to terms with the fact that he is polyamorous, he starts realizing that maybe what he feels for Kaga isn't just friendly friend feelings. Maybe their flame never died down-
Oh, did I not tell you they dated? My mistake. They dated last year, but they broke up eventually. I didn't think to tell you because I thought it was obvious by the way they still talk to each other like a married couple- I MEAN WHAT WHO SAID THAT???

Former student of Crystal Prep High, Kaga is still figuring out his place in The Mane Nine, and is currently trying to earn members for the new Science Club he has set up at Akademi High with Itachi and Tsuruzo's help. Few people have expressed interest, but he only needs three others for the club to be taken seriously anyways.
Despite having hated Itachi in previous years, he has now grown close to him, and the two have become good friends. Especially after being saved by Itachi at the Friendship Games from certain death, Kaga thinks he's not that bad of a guy after all and is incredibly damn hot- WHO KEEPS ADDING THIS TEXT???
Aaanyways, this is not about Kaga's fat crush on Itachi, it's about his fat crush on Tsuruzo- dude, what is happening. I should just end this already like Tsuruzo ended his relationship with Kaga, which he still regrets to this day- I. AM. DONE.
Heir Megami Saikou: AMAB, transgender MTF, she/her, unknown sexuality - ELEMENT OF DETERMINATION (?)
Former top student and President of the Student Council of Crystal Prep High, Megami is still figuring out her role in The Mane Nine. She was Kaga's lab partner in the past year, and is now working hard on bettering herself, having transferred to Akademi High after almost destroying two worlds by creating a lethal rift between them... And almost killing one of her friends. Whoops.
It's not like she's still haunted by her past, though. Itachi has forgiven her for turning him into stone, Kaga is still by her side at all times, Shoku, Geiju and Miyuji have formed a nice friend group with her, and... and...
And... she's still broken. Any other girl would like at least one of them, right? I mean, Shoku and Geiju are gay, sure, and Geiju is in a loving relationship, while Shoku seems to be flirting with their camp counsellour Taro Yamada, but it's in teenagehood's nature to be disappointing, right? Or maybe Miyuji - despite already having four partners, she's polyamorous, so she could totally still like Megami.
Only Budo can relate to her not being able to find a crush, but he sounds more hopeless than her - with words as isolating as 'aromantic' and 'asexual', could Megami really be that lonely forever? How is Budo content with this? How...
...is he happy?
Geiju Tsuburaya: AMAB, genderfluid, he/they/she, homosexual - ELEMENT OF PATIENCE
The Secretary of the Student Council and President of the Art Club, as well as Shoku's twin, Geiju plays the tambourine in The Mane Nine. He is your average good friend with your average amazing partner and your average troubles, such as art block, an annoyingly love-struck brother and a new-found superpower of conjuring up shie- A NEW FOUND SUPERPOWER???
Shoku Tsuburaya: AMAB, cisgender, he/him, homosexual - ELEMENT OF KINDNESS
The Class Representative of Class 3-2 and President of the Cooking Club, as well as back-up singer for The Mane Nine and Geiju's twin, Shoku has a secret that is not exactly a secret: he has been talking to the camp counsellour Taro Yamada for months now, and has gained an embarrassingly big crush on him in the process. It seems like his feelings might be shared, but...
...how can he bring up something as silly as dating when everything is going haywire at Camp Everfree, and even he himself seems to have found a new superpower?
Miyuji Shibakoya: AMAB, transfeminine non-binary, she/they, lesbian, polyamorous - ELEMENT OF LAUGHTER
The lead singer of the Strawberry Thieves and drummer of the Mane Nine, Miyuji is always here for parties and fun. She always loves putting a smile on the faces of her friends and will always do her best to make them happy-
Which is why Megami being so sad all the time makes her sad all the time. Camp should be fun, so why can she only see her moping around? Is she still haunted by the ghosts of the past? But... Medusa is gone, isn't she? Could she still hurt them now? Megami certainly seems to think so... but Miyuji doesn't.
And Miyuji should let her know.
Gema Takagaki: AMAB, cisgender, he/him, bisexual - ELEMENT OF LOYALTY
The founder and lead guitarist and singer of The Mane Nine, as well as the President of the Gaming Club and Budo's half-brother, Gema is an exceptional person despite his appearance and arrogance. With Itachi bringing changes to the school such a student council, the Gaming Club has now been made official, and he could not be happier!
Gema is a very kind and loyal person, always willing to lend a hand to his friends and never leaves them during hard times, and- where... um... Where is he? Is he in front of the school? But- but he was in camp just a second ago! What kind of twisted magic is this? Is this a new superpower?!
Budo Masuyama: AMAB, cisgender, he/him, aromantic asexual - ELEMENT OF HONESTY
The bassist of The Mane Nine, President of the Martial Arts Club, and the Advisor of the Student Council, as well as Gema's half-brother, Budo is happy to be going away to Camp Everfree with his friends, because it means they can all finally get away from the magic that's been circling their school for so long! No more evil demons, siren sisters, horrid headmasters! Now he can lift a whole house with just one hand! YAY!
