Irish stars stun at British Fashion Awards 2025

Taking place in London's Royal Albert Hall on Monday, 1 December, this year's British Fashion Awards attracted a star-studded red carpet, including Irish stars Maura Higgins, Laura Whitmore, Caitríona Balfe, writer Emma Dabiri, and designer Simone Rocha.

The annual ceremony is a celebration of the fashion industry, working to amplify leaders of change, celebrate excellence and support the next generation of creative talent.

As well as shining a spotlight on the outstanding contributions of emerging and established cultural fashion leaders, the event serves as a fundraiser for the BFC Foundation.

A new Audience Choice award for the favourite TV show of 2024, voted for by the general public, went to RTÉ Storyland comedy Did You Read About Erskine Fogarty? The adaptation of a short story by Irish artist and author Blindboy Boatclub stars Robert Sheehan as a troubled man dragging a fridge through Limerick to prove that he’s a big shot. source: RTS (X)

The RTS Ireland Television Awards 2025, also known as Gradaim RTS Ireland 2025, were held on March 27th at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin. The awards ceremony honored achievements and excellence in the Irish TV industry. Virgin Media Television hosted the event, with support from Screen Ireland, Coimisiún na Meán, Screen Producers Ireland, and broadcasters RTÉ, TG4, and Sky Ireland.

It is estimated that thousands of people gathered outside the US Embassy in Dublin, to march to the Department of Foreign Affairs, calling on the Government to implement sanctions on Israel. Actor Liam Cunningham was in attendance. He told us that it would be an “appalling betrayal” to not to show sympathy for the plight of the Palestinian people.
