My Ficus Elastica has prospered in the summer sun. From a clipping I received in June last year it grew to a pretty well-established rubber bush itself.
Tonight I am checking his roots. Rubber trees can grow slightly potbound but because they are, well, trees, prefer a large base to accommodate their rather spread out root system. To prevent stress, bad nutrition intake and poor growth, Elastica’s like a well-timed repot.

The new leaf on my Ficus elastica has finally unfurled & it is beautiful and shiny 😍🌿
One of my new rubber plants with my one year old rubber plant. Can’t believe how much it’s grown!
Visited my parents the other day and discovered that my variegated ficus elastica put out a new little leaf! I share a studio apartment so I really can’t fit all my plants where I live. I keep the smaller and more high maintenance plants at the apartment, while the larger plants stay at my parents place. It’s about a 1 hour trip from where I live though, so I try to visit every 1-2 weeks to check up on the plants!
