Red Hood- A Ruby One-Shot

Title: Red Hood Request: 32 & 48 with Ruby please Pairing: Ruby x Reader

Even though Ruby and Y/N had been together for a few months, Ruby was keeping a major secret. The Enchanted Forest wasn't the most welcoming place when it came to people like Ruby. Yet one night, after she did something horrific, Ruby knew she had to tell Ruby her secret. Her secret could tear her relationship with Y/N in two, but she had to take the risk.

 Ruby stumbled into Y/N's cottage, falling right at Y/N's feet. "Ruby?" Y/N said, kneeling on the ground beside her. "Y/N I need help, I broke my leg." Ruby said. "What do you mean you broke your leg?" Y/N asked. "I sort of killed someone, they broke my leg." Ruby said. "What kind of person does that!?" Y/N exclaimed. "Y/N please listen to me! I need to tell you something! I didn't mean to kill them, I wasn't really in my right mind." Ruby begged. "Your right mind?" Y/N asked. "Just listen to me ok, don't think I'm crazy." Ruby added Y/N nodded. "Y/N, I'm a werewolf." Ruby confessed. Y/N went from being furious to comforting, "Oh Ruby." Y/N pulled Ruby in for a hug. "You don't want to kill me?" Ruby asked. "I could never kill you. I knew another wolf once, I know what you go through. You didn't mean to kill that person, I know it." Y/N responded. "Oh thank god." Ruby sighed. "We need to get some help for your leg. Want me to just heal it?" Y/N asked. Y/N had strong magic that could do many things. "If you don't mind, that'd be great." Ruby smiled. Y/N waved her hand over Ruby's leg, and healed her. "Thank you Y/N, for healing me and accepting me." Ruby said. "No problem. I have an idea." Y/N responded, "What if I could make you something that helped you never become a wolf again?" "Can you really?" Ruby responded. "Give me an hour. I promise it'll work." Y/N said confidently. Ruby smiled, and sat as Y/N worked.

Using her magic, Y/N created a big red hood and cape. The hood itself had magic built into every strand. "Here you go, put it on." Y/N said handing the hood to Ruby. "Oh red, my favorite color. What does it do?" Ruby responded. "It has magic that will keep you in your human form 24/7." Y/N said. Ruby put the hood on, "How do I look?" "Beautiful as always." Y/N responded. Ruby leaned down and pecked Y/N's lips, "You're the best, I love you." "I love you too." Y/N smiled.

(Y/n) nervously waited outside the door, unsure of what her plan was.

Should she really do this? Probably not. Was she brave enough? No. Was she just going to stand here in the doorway? Most likely.

Before she could turn her back on the door, losing every ounce of hope she had, she heard footsetps approaching the wood.

She cursed quietly and got ready to sprint but the person behind the door was too quick, pulling open the door dramatically fast.

"(Y/n)?" Ruby frowned, tilting her head to the side "Is everything okay?"

"Umm" the girl turned around, her cheeks a soft pink "Kinda"

"Kinda?" Ruby smiled, still slightly confused "Is anything wrong?"

"No"

"Then, um, why are you here?"

"It doesn't matter" (Y/n) sighed, looking down "It's not important"

"Well clearly it is, or why else would you walk all the way over here" Ruby laughed.

"I'm just gonna go"

"Wait"

(Y/n) froze when the girl grabbed her gently on the arm, holding her in her place.

"Now I really wanna know?" Ruby pulled her a little closer, using the light from her house to see the girl better "What's brought you all the way out here?"

"I...um...I" (Y/n) took a deep breath "I've been thinking a lot lately, trying to understand everything and well, gain enough courage to do this. And I haven't got enough really, but..."

She paused, staring into the girl's eyes.

"I don't care anymore" she nodded, with a new determined look on her face "I've never done anything like this before, so, sorry"

And with that she moved her hands up to Ruby's face and pulled her forward, gently but quickly. The kiss was very quick, so sudden that it left Ruby in shocked state, staring at the (Y/hc) with her mouth gaping.

"(Y/n)..." she whispered.

"Sorry-"

"Was that your first kiss?"

"Maybe" the girl grumbled, looking down at the ground.

Ruby smiled, pulling the girl into her embrace.

"How long have you felt like this?" she asked the girl.

"A while"

"You should've told me"

"I was scared" (Y/n) admitted "But I'm not scared anymore"

"Good" Ruby kissed her nose, pressing her forehead against hers.

(Y/n) smiled and closed her eyes, savouring the moment.

Am I the biggest dork ever? Yes. Was that awkward? Very. Was it worth it?
