The entire first chapter (and most of the second chapter) of Ruby Re:Quest, an old Ruby Quest remake from around 2015 by artist @humunanunga is now up for viewing again on it's own site! (Please go follow them, this wouldn't be possible without them holding onto the assets they made for Re:Quest all of this years ago + the art they do nowadays is absolutely GREAT !!)
Please keep in mind that Ruby Re:Quest was left unfinished near the end of the second chapter and that I doubt the original artist would want to begin suddenly working on it again like 9 years later. (I am in talks about possibly doing more panels with them but I can't promise anything here.)
One other small thing is that I've taken a few liberties when it comes to the user requests from the original run of Ruby Quest, and some of them had to be changed or rewritten to make a bit more sense (and also I've had to somewhat dial town a select few of them due to their "nature").
Alright, thats enough of a ramble from me, hoping y'all enjoy this rehosting !! Once again, defo go follow @humunanunga because this wouldn't be possible at all without them, and also thanks for TGWeaver for originally creating/running Ruby Quest.
Oh man, this is gonna be such a shot in the dark, but are my Ruby Quest fan-content homies still out there somewhere? I think I lost y'all's contacts since then, so I don't remember which of you did what besides Nitrosparxx.
Sometimes I remember how I was so involved in the Ruby Quest fanbase after finding out about it through Let’s Read, and I miss working on those fanprojects.
Right now, though, even though I don’t have the same personal situations slowing me down, I’m still back to not having a tablet that can keep itself together for more than a month or two.
So, we've reached the end of the line. From this point on there's no more old panels for me to use and with that, this is where Re:Quest ends.
Maybe. I'm in talks to see if I could get some new panels made but I'm not holding my hopes up for that. In the meantime, feel free to enjoy these last panels I've gotten up (which ends kinda abruptly).
By the way, Re:Quest now has proper mobile support if you haven't seen already! If the site still isn't working on mobile for you or later pages aren't loading, then do a hard reset of your site cache on whatever device you're using.
smaller re:quest update, no uploaded panels (right now) but a quality of life thing, a "go back" button and a "start over" button (to explain the different, go back takes you back a page while start over well, starts you over at the beginning of re:quest)
As you have heard by now, a small team has joined forces to create a pixel game together based on the psycho-thriller webcomic adventure Ruby Quest.
To anyone unfamiliar with the original, I direct you now to the side-page Related. If you would like to learn more about the development team, our names will all be listed in Credits above the credits to the original. Lastly available at this time is the side-page Tags, where you can jump to artwork, soundtracks, or any demos we may later have available.
Expect a demo link posted as soon as one is available, but development is still in its early stages so don't expect it tomorrow or next week just yet. In the time being, let it simply be known that this project is in the making; and please do view the Related links if you are interested in familiarizing with the original webcomic, the Let's Read by CoLabHQ, or the art-remake Ruby Re:Quest drawn by myself.
Welcome to the development of Ruby Quest: the game.
