Is anyone still working on this? Been 3 months since the last update so I thought the project just died or something :(
Everyone’s a bit busy with things like school and other projects at the moment. Process has been relatively slow as of late. It hasn’t died, but it seems like everyone’s just got some things going on that prevent a lot of work being done. It still exists, though!

Talksprites of Ruby and Tom. I promise we haven’t dropped this project, we’ve just been having technical difficulties and schedule difficulties. Personally, though, I’ve decided enough is enough and I’ll just deal with continuing Ruby Quest projects on my old computer.
will the game have more than one end? (like say you don't break the med cabinet so you kill stitches and tom dies in the end)
I actually have a Bad End scripted should events that break webcomic-canon occur.
The blackout scene is when your actions begin to have consequences on the ending. The dummy’s eye must be poked during the blackout, the It’s So Dark scene must be triggered, the confrontation with Stitches in Diagnostics must be triggered by using the Flesh Key, and it must end with him being tranquilized, being put in the locker and given the group photo. Failing any of those actions will give you the Bad End.
There will also be a secret boss and end-game bonus available if you successfully read all notes, reports and journal entries.
Also, apologies for a lull in updates. We were all expecting more time available during the spring, but we’ve each had unexpected events monopolize our time. We promise that we are not dropping this project, we will continue at a snail’s pace if we have to.

It is, we’ve just been working on the technical stuff more than the visuals lately, so there hasn’t been anything new to mention. We do have a background artist now, so there has been progress.

Are you thinking about opening up "auditions" for people to help color sprites or backgrounds? Volunteer work of course- I'd love to help with this project!
It’s all volunteer work considering this is a fan game of someone else’s forum adventure [with permission]. As long as the team doesn’t mind the time it’ll take me between adult responsibilities and Ruby Re:Quest, I’m content with finishing what I started with the sprites and talksprites. Just because I’m already doing them, I’d like to continue doing them by myself to make sure that the art style is uniform.
On the other hand, I was actually going to look for someone else to do the background art. Backgrounds have always been a weak point for me, so I don’t want to hand in beginner-level backgrounds if there’s someone else available to draw better backgrounds.If you would like to submit, say, the maintenance room, the pixelated platform game will have a 1024 x 768 screen, and you can use Ruby’s and Tom’s sprites as a size reference. And you can take liberties with the colors, it doesn’t have to be all black and white like in the comic.
I say the maintenance room specifically since that area has a little bit of everything that the background artist would be challenged with, and it’s not a hassle to publicly publish that room without spoiling plot points.I’m assuming all our current followers are here because they have read Ruby Quest, but I’d prefer to take precautions in case this blog ever gets enough publicity to be followed by gamers who’ve never read it.

Sorry for double dipping, but also, what is the whole dev cycle like? Ive always wanted to be a game dev and i want to know how its like to go through the whole cycle (forgot the word i wanted to use and just used the next best thing)
[I asked on Skype for clarification.] If by “dev cycle” you mean the team process, we currently just offer samples or send requests as we think of them, and drop them into our Google Drive folder as we complete whichever.I’ve mainly been working on sprites and talksprites, still focusing on Ruby and Tom and then establishing bases for the other characters: F., Red, and Stitches, to name a few bases completed so far.Basically, unless requested specifically for something, Nitro and I just share audio and visuals with the group as we make them and share any ideas as we go.
I did notice that someone on Nitro’s Youtube had asked about voice acting.While we hadn’t even discussed the possibility yet, and we may not bring that on the table until we’re started on cutscenes, we may or may not open auditions or... I dunno, maybe CoLab would be willing to collaborate? [That’s probably just wishful thinking, though.]
As for splitting the programming work, Jag and Norix will have to answer that one for themselves.

Sooo, what are your credentials? Any past projects I can take a peek at?
I don’t know about the newest among our team, but last I checked this is a first game for all of us. It may not be our only project together, though, cuz I think we all entertain the thought of following up with Nan Quest and/or Dive Quest if possible… that’s assuming a lot, though, since our current project still so early in development, so who knows if we ever actually make games into all the Weaver Quests.
Speaking as the artist of Ruby Re:Quest, on the other hand, I can say that I will probably redraw just the one Quest since a page-a-day update schedule will still take me over two years to finish.
Nitrosparxx, meanwhile, is the original soundtrack musician for the original Ruby Quest. He has also made soundtracks for Cucumber Quest, Nan Quest, Dive Quest, and fan-tracks for Homestuck. All of which can be viewed on his Youtube.

Edit:Norix here, I’m one of the programmers for this game, I’ve been programming for many years (Something like 10 now I think), though sadly I’ve never actually completed any projects I felt deserved any sort of public release. I mainly do works on websites at the moment (Such as the Ruby Re:Quest site mentioned above), so I don’t really have much to show for it; Sorry!

how easy it is it to get into and learn how to use game maker studio? I DO have a pretty good understanding of programming and have some sort of experience with something like that, even though it was a horrible piece of software (multimedia fusion 2) so, i dont really know what to expect
If you have some experience with programming, you should be able to use GM:S. It takes some getting used to, for sure.

Are you gonna give us any information on what kind of a game it is? I mean like, will it be top down view or sidescrolling? Heavily linear and story based or free roaming? Combat? and if so, FF style turn base, more beat-em-up or something else entirely?
As of right now, it is a platformer. Several variations were tested by me prior to creating an actual team for the game, including a point and click, and this is what I felt would be best. Playing the point and click variant just felt like reading the comic on nepeta.mozai, and I wanted to give a different experience while still telling RubyQuest’s story. This does, of course, come with some rebuilding of environments. However, I feel this was necessary. If you’ve ever looked at a map for RubyQuest, the comic actually takes place in a very small area.
